It was busy the day I stopped by. Ordered an untoasted plain bagel with regular cream cheese. The cream cheese was warm and was probably left outside for some time instead of being refrigerated. The owner was not friendly at all and he was rushing through his customers. I noticed he would not always replace his gloves while taking money and get the bagels and giving to his employees. The bagels are good but I can't quite figure out when this place is open. I have gone on all different days at different times (typical times for bagels) and sometimes its open and other times it is not! Its very peculiar! I'm not sure about the business name but this review is for the bagel place at the corner of ocean and lakeviw. I thought it was called Danny's. Anyway they have amazing bagels. Powder puff soft when they come out of the oven and crunchy soft when they cool off. And let's not forget the cream cheese. I have had what might have been great bagels, but wasn't able to tell because of the gross cheese. This isn't the case at this place. I would give this place zero stars if I could. I walk in at noon on a Sunday. Can I get an egg sandwich? Nope, grill is closed. Can I get a sesame or onion bagel? Nope, no more. Can I get skim milk in my coffee? Nope, we're out of skim. On top of all that, it was literally the worst-tasting bagel I've ever had. I've taken this place for granted because I live so close to it. For as long as I can remember, there has always been a bagel store in this tiny strip of stores on Ocean Avenue. Years ago, it went by a different name, but I believe they changed owners and their business name to go along with it. It is now called Danny's Bagels and I hope they are here to stay. Unfortunately, they have to deal with a Dunkin Donuts and a Subway right next door. Hopefully, the competition will not take away any customers, but I don't think Danny's has to worry about that. On a recent Sunday morning, I went into Danny's for a bagel and the place was packed with a steady stream of people; next door at Dunkin Donuts, not a single person. Great bagel shop! This place has awesome bagels with great consistency. I love to just gwt a sesame bagel plain because they are so good.they dont.need anything. This place doesnt have lunch sandwichws but their breakfast.sandwiches (egg/cheese/lox/etc) are excellent. read more

Looks like the store has new owners, the bagels taste great and great customer service.

I just came from the store (twice) because of their error. I provided them with a detailed list of what i wanted-grant you i don't have "Catholic school" penmanship but the individual re-transcribed it to the cook (that part he got right) however the part he made he told me i "was ridiculous" right in front of the owner!!!! And he did nothing!!! The owner even looked at the list saw himself that his worker omitted my requests. So when i asked for the rest of order he asked me for the full amount even after his employee called me "ridiculous" in front of other customers and i told him my sandwiches are ice cold and i had to drive all the way back, can you do better with the price? he still charged me full price! No apologies! I even told the employee "you never told me could't read my handwriting you should have just asked" but instead he just skipped it and when on-ok a mistake on a bagel order no biggie! Just make a customer happy! Im a nurse and see sloppy doctor's handwriting ALL the time! Should i just say "cant read it-and go on?" And those silly decimals should i ignore those? That would actually kill someone!!!! My husband and i and extended family have patronage your store since you have been there! And before you were there! Minimum once a week because its our "Sunday thing", not anymore! Time for a new place! I will not step foot in there ever again! I will repeat this story many times over!!! I even felt bad when DD opened next door and did not go there because i believe in mom and pops stores but FU Danny for letting your employee talk to a customer that way and then condone it by charging me full value without an apology! And i know how lovely their employees are! over christmas i had to buy many gift cards for my work place there at the last minute and had over 20 "$10"& "$5" cards and they took their time to make sure my list was complete and in order! read more

The owner is rude and nasty. His bagels might be good, but he makes you want to forever skip this place, unless you like being abused by an owner. One time when my cream cheese was sour....he told me it was my fault! I must have left it out somewhere. Very bad customer service. Even after that time, I went back for more and again, I witnessed him berating another customer. Stay FAR AWAY from this nasty man and find someone who appreciates your business. He's not the only bagel place around. His bagels are not THAT good. read more
