Visit Date: April 28, 2026 I came to Kookaburra before my endocrinologist appointment. It was in my LI Cafe Passport book. I've noticed some reviews say they are cash only, I paid in cash but I also saw some customers using debit cards. I got my dad a bag of coffee because I have Christmas money I had saved to take him out and we only went to Panera a few times so I've been buying him bags of coffee from the nice coffee shops. I got an iced cafe mocha with half and half. It was very good, creamy, chocolately and it gave a nice buzzzz. The coffee shop itself is very small, most of the space is dedicated to their coffee machines and food service. There is limited seating outside but it's not a place where they encourage you to stay and hang out after you get your coffee. It's still good though. It's more of a grab and go coffee spot. They also have no bathrooms but if you ask for a bathroom they will refer you to the train station or the cathedral near the coffee shop. I would recommend coming here for coffee it's really good but if you're looking to linger you can't. read more

Saw there were a bunch of people sitting outside, so I went in to see a short line. I was helped right away. Got a toasted marshmallow iced latte which was very good. I think I have gotten this flavor in the past but it seemed better than I remembered. They now have a screen to tap your card, so it's not cash only anymore! read more

Thankfully, I was right. From coffees and teas to donuts and bagels and more, Kookaburra has an impressive selection. Whether you want a simple haht cawfee or something more extravagant, they have you covered. The baristas are amicable and adept at keeping the line moving. For our first visit, my wife and I ended up with a NOLA cold brew (with chicory), a toasted marshmallow caramel latte, and a maple Berliner to share. Everything was good, and honestly not that expensive by New York standards. The coffee was smooth and not too sweet while the donut tasted fresh. Impressed, I returned the next day to snag a graham cracker latte and an Irish cream cold brew. The second round of Kookaburra drinks was just as satisfying as the first. If you're in a hurry or really want to be able to sit inside and eat/drink, you can try the Dunkin down the street. Local spot i passed by on my morning run. It appeared that a lot of locals were coming and going. A little bit later my wife and I came back to grab a cuppa coffee. This place is a real treat. This is a cash only establishment. Aside from that very excellent coffee for a phenomenal price. Don't be intimidated with a long line. They do a really good job of taking care of the patrons very quickly. I get a standard latte double shot. My wife got the pumpkin spice latte. Both were expertly made. The pumpkin spice latte was exquisite. The perfect amount of coffee flavor not overly sweet. We also got a cornbread muffin top again for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend this place. It beats the franchisees in every single category. Seating is limited on the outside area with two tables and four chairs Parking is limited to the street. I'm only visiting for the weekend, but if I ever come back, this place will be a staple. read more

I ordered a bagel toasted with cream cheese and you should see the amount of cream cheese that she originally put on the bagel and I asked to put cream cheese on both sides of the bagel because she literally only put a little bit of cream cheese and she gave me an attitude and I was like how much is it to put a more cream cheese on both sides of the bagel like why do you have to charge me extra just to put cream cheese on both sides of the bagel? She said it's five dollars. I said OK fine just charge me five dollars then. I went here recently and got the best coffee I've had in a while. it was actually a latte but the flavor was 10 out of 10. I really love that they are now accepting credit cards too. I drive by this coffee shop all the time, so I finally decided to check it out. They have a lot of coffee flavors, but I just ended up getting an iced vanilla latte. It tasted really good and definitely helped wake me up. I also got a "health harvest" mini muffin, which was delicious. Love, love, love this little coffee shop! We live close by and this place is walkable. During the warm months we walk here with the dog and baby in tow every weekend. While there does tend to be a line it's because it's AWESOME. It usually goes quite quickly and the queue is outside to remain COVID/social distancing safe. I personally like how they have multiple different milk options such as soy and oat! If you've never had oat milk, here's a plug as it's great. Their iced and hot coffees are quite yummy. They also have wonderful pastries. We personally enjoy their almond or chocolate croissants and their chocolate chips cookies. When we were commuting they also had little taco egg wraps in the morning which my husband always used to love before hoping on the train. They go quick, so I am sure we are just getting their late to grab one (we are not the early bird types!) I don't drink coffee, but my wife does occasionally, so I've come to Kookaburra a couple of times for a coffee for her and a pastry/breakfast for both of us. I've been satisfied each time, and my wife has enjoyed her coffee. The line can get long, but it moves. Ordering can be kind of confusing because of how small the place is, but the folks behind the counter seem to know what they're doing which keeps the line moving. Other reviews mention the cash only policy not being clear and they are definitely right about that. The only sign I saw for that was in the back next to the register. Someone waiting with me didn't have cash and was pointed to the Dunkin next door for an ATM and were told they can take their coffees with them to get cash, and even encouraged to "enjoy them while they're still hot," so at least they're understanding (and trusting). read more

And when I mean busy, I mean packed, which obviously says something about their food and drinks! We didn't have cash, but there is a small convenience store two stores down with an ATM available. We ordered some ice coffees with some scones. They have lots of interesting flavors on their menu ranging from holiday drinks to lavender infused lattes. We received our drinks right away, the guy that took our orders asked us if it was our first time visiting the coffee shop and we replied yes, therefore he gave us our drinks on the house. Have walked past plenty of times. Decided to stop in one day with my girlfriend. Placed our order and.......oops, cash only!!!! But the employee wrote out an IOU for us! Caught me off guard. Did not think that people would trust complete strangers to return and settle their debt. Returned the next day!! Due to this, they have made me abandon Starbucks!! The coffee is just as good if not better! Although a much smaller business, I like it much more. Starbucks always felt more "corporate" to me! No large tables that people can treat as their office......which I always despised at Starbucks. You can still use a laptop there.
