I went in the other day to get a chicken salad wrap with tomato and cheese- the sandwich is really good as is most everything thee. However, the prices have gone way up. However, the service could use a bit of refining. I don't know the name of the bearded man who took my order and cashed me out on this day but he could not have cared any less. No hello. No smile. Ow the quality of customer service has been so terrible and I gave the new management a couple of tries and I m Done with this bagel shop.. So sad to say it's a block away but they treat local people like cash cows and will overprice you for everything a muffin is 3.50 crazy and I got charged and extra 1.50 for a bacon egg and cheese because it was on a flat bagel which is so crazy because it a normal bagel but flat anyways I'm just venting . My first order of Danny's Bagels and wow, I was beyond impressed! We got a mix of different bagels and they were all just baked fresh, soft and crispy, what bagel dreams are made of, and the scallion and also lox cream cheese spread was very tasty, not sour like at some other places, really fabulous. The men who prepare the food speak negatively about the customers, and they assume that you can't understand them because they are speaking Spanish. Use to go here all the time. They had decent bagels and good coffee. They changed owners and prices got ridiculous and inconsistent. Everytime I would go the Prices would vary. The guy behind the register would just make up numbers, that never matched the board. When questioned they would make up reasons. Let's get real here. There are two kinds of bagel places in New York: bagel makers and bagel distributors. What's the difference? Bagel makers bake their bagels fresh in the back of the store. Bagel distributors purchase bagels from bagel makers and then sell them to customers. As you probably guessed it, quality from bagel makers is usually better than quality from bagel distributors. Danny's, unfortunately, is a bagel distributor. To be honest, I was pretty close to giving this place 2 stars. The bagel quality is not great at all. In some cases, I've had some ok bagels here, but usually, the bagels taste at least a day or two old, the kind you need to toast to make better. Why the 3 stars? Danny's makes up for bagel quality when it comes to breakfast sandwiches and even service. As other reviews have mentioned, the parking lot in this shopping center is rather small and narrow, so be careful with your car (not Danny's fault, but just something to be cautious about). Lines here usually aren't too bad, unless of course you're visiting in the morning on a weekend. The staff here does a good job of moving the line, though, with two employees usually preparing bagels and one cashier. In addition, you'll find an assortment of beverages and snacks. The variety of bagels and spreads here is modest, but you'll usually find what you're looking for (unless they run out of bagels, which does happen since, as I mentioned, they're really just a bagel distributor). The sandwiches, though, are pretty good. Order an egg-and-cheese, bacon-egg-and-cheese, sausage-egg-and-cheese, or even an omelette on a bagel, and you'll find that the sandwich actually tastes good enough. The issue, again, is that the bagels are usually a bit stale. The heat of the eggs/bacon/sausage help to warm and soften the bagel a tad, but these sandwiches would still taste so much better on fresh bagels. Service here is great though. The staff is usually very friendly and seems to know their clientele well, especially the regulars. Personally, I don't choose Danny's often, but I'm really hoping they'll improve their bagel freshness to help boost the quality. read more

It was busy the day I stopped by. Ordered an untoasted plain bagel with regular cream cheese. The cream cheese was warm and was probably left outside for some time instead of being refrigerated. The owner was not friendly at all and he was rushing through his customers. I noticed he would not always replace his gloves while taking money and get the bagels and giving to his employees. He would change it often but a few times he didn't when I was there definitely not hygienic. read more
