It's a dive bar.......with Golden Tee! What more can you ask for?!?! We came here after visiting the Malted Barley (Awesome) and wanted to hang out at a dive bar keeping up with our tradition! We walked in around 8ish and were given some glaring stares by the regulars but the atmosphere livened up a great deal around 930-10. They have a pool table, shuffle board, and of course Golden Tee. It gets a bit crowded but prices are reasonable and the bartenders are awesome.

Update If you're…read morelooking for a spot that nails the classics while still feeling fresh and fun, Pooch's Pour House is it. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is welcoming--laid‑back enough for a casual night out, but with just the right buzz to make it feel special. Wings: Hands down some of the best wings around. Perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and tossed in sauces that actually taste crafted rather than generic. The buffalo has that ideal balance of tang and heat, while the honey BBQ hits with smoky sweetness. What impressed me most was consistency--every wing came out cooked to perfection, no soggy bites, no overdone edges. Nachos: The nachos are a showstopper. A generous pile that doesn't skimp on toppings--every layer has cheese, jalapeños, and savory goodness, not just the top. The house‑made queso is rich and creamy, and the fresh pico adds a bright kick that keeps the dish from feeling heavy. It's the kind of plate that's perfect for sharing, though you'll be tempted to keep it all to yourself. Beyond the food, the staff is attentive without hovering, and the drinks are cold and reasonably priced. It's the kind of place where you can settle in for a game, a night with friends, or just indulge in comfort food done right. Bottom line: Pooch's Pour House delivers wings and nachos that set the bar high, and the overall vibe makes it a spot worth returning to again and again.

The burgers and wings are great, as is the beer selection. The service is reliable and attentive…read more This is also a good place to check out a game; there are multiple TVs that air all sorts of sports and leagues.

We are a very inexperienced group of bowlers and they kindly put us on the farthest lane. The food server promptly took our food order and checked up on us a few times. The other family (from out of town) really liked the food and especially the pricing (considering we were thinking about Foxwoods's High Roller bowling lounge. A similar package was $300) We ordered (3 at $4 each) hot Suppi stuffies, and order of (4) breadsticks with beer cheese (amazing), a Mac and cheese (topped with crispy bacon and toasted breadcrumbs) with (4) wings combo, and a pepperoni pizza (in addition to the cheese pizza in our package). For the 6 of us (2 of them being children) we still took home some left overs. Like I said - we're inexperienced bowlers and it took us 2 hours to play 2 games of bowling on 1 lane for the 6 of us. Our 2 hours fell right on our 10th frame of the second game and they were nice enough to add 10 minutes to our game. Make sure to tip the staff and servers. They were super helpful and friendly. We will be back soon!

Also, there is some additional seating (booths) available in the bar area. Still classic bar-style / feel good foods available. I had the Philly Steak sandwich with waffle fries. It was a great choice. Our other dining partner had the Fish and Chips and it was gone before i could ask how it was. Another had a burger which was ordered as medium rare but came out medium (hence the 4 stars vs 5). We did not return it as the difference was subtle. The waiter did ask how our food was and we opted not to mention it. Overall, the portions were average, the prices were very good, the quality (taste) was also very good. What I loved the most was that although the place was packed, the acoustics were exceptional. We sat in the bar area and there was no need to lean in to converse. No shouting. Just your natural voice level was enough. To me - that's a huge win!

We got take out which automatically lowers expectations but of 5 orders, we were missing 4 sides: 2 Cole slaw, 1 fries, and a Caesar salad. Pretty disappointing. Additionally, literally everything was oversalted, per everyone's taste buds. We ordered 2 cold and 1 hot lobster rolls, 1 stuffed shrimp, 1 pork cutlet, and 1 lobster bisque. The buns for the lobster rolls were nice but not grilled. The pork cutlet was covered with hot peppers, advertised for sure as cherry peppers, but if you don't like very spicey, avoid this entree. The Haversham has a good bar scene and may have good bar food but entrees are priced on the higher side and they need to get the salt and service issues under control!

The menu offers everything from soups and salads to scallop meals and sandwiches. Extremely well priced. There are about a dozen tables and a few high tops as well as a bar for seating. Parking is across the street. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. I wish they had brewed iced tea, but they said it only comes from the fountain. Ick! Ordered a bowl of clam chowder soup. Very creamy and good flavor. The clams seem to be gritty. Probably could use a good rinse before they are cooked. But overall, the flavor and consistency our clams and potatoes with each bite was nice. Ordered the cod sandwich with onion rings. The cod sandwich is quite large. Served on a brioche bun with tomatoes and lettuce and a lemon wedge It was served piping hot. The fish, although large and presentation was nice, it lacked flavor. The batter was not completely cooked toward the meat of the fish. You get your choice of side and we had onion rings. They were standard side, but cooked to perfection. Overall, I was pleased with this restaurant. I would give the ambience a five out of five, the weight staff service was five out of five and the food would be a solid four. I would definitely come back to this restaurant.
