Went to grab lunch and a drink today. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip to start and then a little while later we each got a sandwich. The service was friendly and we weren't rushed. The Reese's martini taste just like Reese's pieces! It's dangerously good. Raspberry Lemonade was okay. The lemonade could've been better but tastes like a generic brand from the store. A nice homemade lemonade would've changed the drink drastically. Hot chocolate just taste like Swiss Miss packet with a stale cookie stick from two holidays ago. Food is mediocre at best. Olive tapenade is a classic. The grilled cheese is okay...it's grilled cheese and very overpriced. The decor is cozy and cool vibe. Very chill. Reminds me of the Friends comedy show decor. Establishment is very clean. Every time we needed something we had to go up to the bar to order and get help. I wish they had an actual person walk around to take orders. Service was pretty slow. I am not a local but I LOVE this place! I've stopped here twice from a friends recommendation on my way back NJ. This place is right on the border of RI & CT. You must go! Jake (bartender extraordinaire) is awesome. You literally can't go wrong with any of the martinis. He let us try a small sample of the chai martini (one of their specialties) and it was great. I love their pomegranate martini, espresso martini and Reese's PB martini. I've always say at the bar, but there are tables and a cute little lounge area. It's like a bar and coffee shop in one. Long time westerly resident and regularly frequent downtown and Perks and Corks is usually near top of the list. However, after walking in to see a few open tables and hearing the wait would be ~30 minutes, I left my name and number. An hour later I walked back in to hear that the hostess, Sophia, had, "called my number, it went straight to voicemail, and she moved on with her list." I showed Sophia that I didn't have any missed calls on my phone and she was extremely sassy while insisting that she had called me. This is not the first time this has happened and I was fine overlooking the first occurrence but having this happen for a second time is an unacceptable pattern. I believe perks and corks is prioritizing online reservations instead of their neighbors and regulars who walk down the street to visit this place. I am disappointed that we are lied to instead of just saying they are full on reservations and won't call before scratching our names and phone numbers off the list. Happy to see business is booming but Sophia can drop the attitude and not lie to neighbors and your year round regulars. Not good for business. read more

Unfortunately today I have to give one star. I've been here countless times over the last 15 years and have had an incredibly positive experience every time. Today may have been a one off but the bartender on duty in the early afternoon was overwhelmed beyond his ability. He was extremely rude to customers acting as if they were the his problem. There's no reason to throw menus on a table and act inconvenienced. He should know better in the industry. I look forward to coming again but not with that unchecked behavior. The hostess was so terrible that we left. We were on vacation and Perks and Corks was recommended to us by a local. They didn't happen to mention that you need reservations. When we walked in, the blonde hostess basically sneered at us. We said "2" and she snapped, "do you have a reservation?". We told her we did not. She spent several minutes poking around and then said, "And you don't have a reservation?" We affirmed that we did not, she humphed and told us to follow her. She led us to the very back of the restaurant, right next to the bathrooms. This whole section was empty! We sat there for 10-15 minutes and no one came to greet us or take our order. But whatever you choose you won't be disappointed. They are served in very colorful very large martini glasses. I swear it's like 2 martinis in a glass compared to any place else. I've given Perks & Corks so many chances and I'm honestly disappointed and exhausted with my experiences. The drinks are great and the ambience is really neat, but I've never felt like more of a burden in my entire life than in my futile attempts to patronize this establishment. As a born and raised Westerly local, I've been unable to get in the door without making an online reservation probably 4 of the past 5 times (this is during the off-season, by the way). When you attempt to leave your phone number with the hostess to call back when there's room, you never end up getting a call back. I've shown up early a bunch of times when the place is only half or a quarter full, but the tables are all reserved (and it won't let you make reservations online). If you do manage to grab a seat, the bartender will refuse to make half the drinks on the menu (including the signature martinis) if it's after 9:30 or so. My fault for asking, I guess...my friends and family love this place, but I probably won't ever come back unless it's around opening while the staff is still in a good mood and feels like serving the public. read more

Adjusting the rating slightly from previously. Unfortunately there was only one waitress. We had 2 kids with us and were seated at a high top table instead of lower available seating. They were a bit busy and started picking up more as we were there. A party of 4 that was seated after us received our food before us and due to there only being one waitress that had to take care of those inside and outside she wasn't as attentive to the tables. There looked to be one woman at the bar and one cook that helped bring food out to the waiting tables. Food was decent and drinks. I wouldn't recommend as a kid friendly spot. Love, love ,love this place! Every time I am on the east coast I go here. I really love the atmosphere, food and drinks. Very nice and friendly staff. On this visit we all did appetizers for our lunch. We had the hummus plate, the fig jam and brie plate, and the soupy and cheese platter. Our drinks were the Strawberry Basil Martini, The Blue Berry Martini and The 007. Their martinis are HUGE but you can get a half pour if you want. I am just going to talk about what I had although everyone loved what they had. I did The Soupy Platter, The Blue Berry Martini, and The 007 Martini. I absolutely love soupy sausage, it is served with peppers and cheese and crostini's. It is fricken delicious my friends!!!! WHO KNEW??? This place is awesome. We heard about it from our waitress at dinner one night and decided to check it out. Coffee shop by day, after dinner martini bar by night. They are open much later than most places in downtown historic Westerly, so we went with a friend one evening. We walked in and they had open mic night, so we had an eclectic mix of live music while we sipped on our delicious cocktails. These martinis are HUGE, like HUGE! We found this delightful eclectic motif bar and cafe on Labor Day. It was one of the only places that was open, but we would have picked it anyway. Love the gourmet grilled cheese selection, we had the Vaugh (Sara) for a snack. Decent wine selection. And had the Espresso Martini, which was one of the best I have ever had. The staff needs to learn how to make a cappuccino though, I had a double shot and it was coffee with NO foam to be found. Really, who qualifies these people. I confused . This is a cute and aesthetic place. It is dark with couches and bar seating. The book of alcoholic drinks is amazing with so many choices. Though I'm not a big drinker many of the people I went with ordered drinks. They were huge, definitely worth the price. The food is also good, hot sandwiches and soups as well as finger food appetizers. The spinach and artichoke dip is to die for. The only thing that disappoints me every time I come here is the service. Last time visiting there were only a few other people there. It took almost an hour for our food and the waitress completely forgot our friends food. She also did not check on us at all. And they have a nice wine selection. I love going their with my fiancé for new years and it is always a bar that we hit when we have friends over from out of town. So I was visiting the New England area for vacation and my family brought me here to enjoy ONE drink lol. When I say one drink, their (martini) drinks are HUGE! I was looking at the menu and thought to myself that $10+ for a martini was too expensive... that is until I received my martini. It was easily about 12 oz or maybe a bit more. And it was good and strong! I was already a bit tipsy after drinking half and was sporting the Asian glow (dang lightweight lol). I was pretty surprised that bar seating was packed for a Monday afternoon. But there are plenty of comfortable seating with coffee tables to hold your drink. I loved the decor of the place; it was like traveling back in time. I originally wanted the Bellini, but they ran out of the peach purée for it, so I got the strawberry basil instead. Hence why I could not give them all 5 stars. But, I did enjoy it and got to sample the beach bum and Neil's Reese's martinis from other people in my party, and both were very good and strong as well. The bartenders are very nice and it seems like they have quite a few regulars. This is a great place to come for a drink with a bunch of friends or if you want to impress your date lol. I'll definitely be back again when I come up to visit again. Hopefully I'll be able to order the Bellini next time. read more
