Our waitress was curt and dismissive from the start and at one point walked away mid-sentence while we were still speaking to her. But the moment that truly caught me off guard: she got locked out of the restaurant and, when I -- a customer -- walked over to open the door for her, she mouthed "hurry up" at me through the glass. No thank you. No acknowledgment whatsoever. I understand that working in the service industry is hard, and everyone has bad days. But there's a baseline of courtesy that's reasonable to expect, and this fell well below it.
