My friend held her wedding at Danville Bed and Breakfast so I got to spend a few days there. I'll tell you, I've never seen such a cool venue! This places offered several areas. They have an airplane hanger which is attached to a house. That's where we stayed and where the wedding reception was held. They also offer a Yurt, a treehouse, and a man cave. Each have not only a different style but also offer different aminities. The staff were great and really went the extra step to take care of everything. My friend's wedding was one of the best I've been to and I've been to many! Much of the success of the day was from the great venue and the staff that made sure everything went well! Some of my favorite thing about the property were the animals! Behind the hurt was a pen of alpacas! The man cave had a goat pen and there was a super sweet cat I called the "cat of honor". I hear they are working on another cool unique rental area. I can't wait to see what else they do! You can rent the entire property which is huge or parts of it depending on what you are planning. I could easily see family reunions, get aways or just a staycation in a tree house!

Beautiful stay in the yurt, very friendly and welcoming all around. You won't regret staying in any of the places Danville has to offer, plenty to do around the area as well as on Danville property. Dan is extremely personal and easy going, part of the experience is going to happy hour and getting to know dan as well as the other people who are staying in either the treehouse, the man cave, and etc. We loved our stay, very peaceful, quiet and remote. Can't wait to come back and experience this memorable place again!

This place is amazing! I planned an event here for 150 of my clients and they absolutely loved it! The creativity of the venue itself mixed with the beauty of the outdoors makes this a unique and special place. We had food catered for our event and had access to the kitchen- Dan and his family were super accommodating, even allowing us to visit several times, gave us ideas, and let us use whatever he had available! Thanks Dan, can't wait to do it again!

Danville is a very unique and very creative place. The actual rooms were amazing, and most of the staff, especially Jessica did a phenomenal job making the entire wedding event possible! However, the owner Dan really put a damper on the whole experience. The entire wedding party is comprised of very successful and responsible adults, yet Dan made the entire wedding party feel like we were irresponsible teenagers who had a curfew. We were not rambunctious, but we enjoyed laughing and talking over a few beers. We were told Friday night that we could be outside until 9. Around 830 he asked us to go inside the bar because we were being too loud. The entire place is packed full of cameras, so he is constantly watching your every move. If you are out past 11pm he is sure to let you know the next morning. He also feels entitled to any of the beer and food that is present before during and after the wedding. We had pizza and wings the night before the wedding and he made sure to not only take a couple of boxes with him that night, but also help himself the next day to entire platefuls of leftovers while we were all getting ready for the wedding and could not leave. During the reception he put a decibel meter next to the DJ which alerted him whenever the music went above 85 decibels. Unreal. It's a celebration! The bartender, supplied by Danville spent most of the night irritated that he was there and asking people in the wedding party to ask the bride and groom if he could leave at 9 instead of 930 because he had other plans that night. They drank our beer and ate the fruit from the sangria the guests brought without asking or offering to anyone who was actually supposed to be there! Then when we took a couple of cans of beer from the keg fridge he almost chased us down telling us we couldn't have them and they were his. Very one- way. While I believe that he may have good intentions, they were severely overshadowed by his overbearing behavior. I understand that Danville may host over 100 weddings annually, but please remember Dan, even though it may be just another wedding for you, these are very special days for the individual couples. Weddings are a celebration. Expect loud music, laughter and dancing, especially if you are hosting them!

My craft group holds our annual Xmas party and Spring retreat there every year and it is just magical!! Danville combines picturesque flora and fauna, an amazing little town built into an old airplane hanger, high tech toys like karaoke and a cool photo booths, finger licking good food, and the most lovely host and hostess on earth. Although it's only a 40ish minute drive from Winter Park, when I go out there, I feel like I'm transported into another world. Imagine waking up to a view of wild turkeys running through lush gardens as you're lured out of bed by the cardinals singing and the sweet aroma of stuffed french toast. After breakfast, enjoy a short walk to historic Fort Lane on Lake Harney. At lunch, you'll be entertained by squirrels trying to get birdseed out of the Yankee Squirrel Flipper Bird Feeder (I posted a photo, but if you don't know what I'm talking about, you have to youtube it! It's hilarious-- especially in person!). If you're lucky, you'll also get to play dress up in their photobooth. They've collected some really fun and wacky accessories, and I have some of the best pictures from there! At night, DJ Dan turns on the disco lights, so you can grab a beer from the pub and dance and sing the night away. I'm still years away from renewing my vows with my honey, but I already know where I am going to do it!

We just held my daughter's wedding at Danville this weekend. As any father wants their daughter to have a wedding to be that special event that she remembers for the rest of her life, Danville did not disappoint. We had a wonderful experience. From the uniqueness of the venue to the personal support of the staff, a fantastic time was had by all that attended. I highly recommend that you consider Danville for your wedding venue. Make sure to contact them early to make your reservation.

Beautiful place but the owners will drink your booze and try to take all left over food and be in every aspect of your party/wedding.

I have come several times to afternoon tea and bring multiple people because I absolutely LOVE it here! It's so lovely, quaint, and Delicious!!! Gwendolyn is wonderful and remembers me, which is impressive in itself. She makes everything fresh daily, including the scones that are to die for. Uhhh, I want one now. Anyway, they have an ample tea menu along with libations, and great food! There's no way you're leaving there hungry. Sooo incredibly delicious, great ambiance, and so worth it! We were greeted with grace, a welcome beverage and all the instructions we needed to make our stay lovely. We were there during a very unusual freeze and were provided with extra blankets to ensure our comfort. The room was charming with a large, well appointed bath and huge closet. The bed was very comfortable. The entire inn was spotless. Every small detail was carefully thought out, including the bedside step stool. Breakfast was delicious and all special needs of the guests we dined with were carefully addressed. We will definitely return when we can make use of the lovely lanai and pool. The Grandview is within easy walking distance of everything in Mt. Dora. Parking was easy which was an added perk on a festival weekend. Thanks for a lovely stay!

I didn't want to devote any time to this review over the holidays and while family was in town but, I was reminded of this unfortunate experience and felt I really should leave this review. We were rudely awoken at 12:45am by a drunk couple that was loudly clomping up the stairs and screaming at each other. The woman was shouting "Your F-ing big ego!" They stood right outside our door shouting, F-ing this and F-ing that. They finally made it to their room and continued fighting for the next couple hours. So, we were awake for at least 3 hours. A sign inside the room door listed the management number to call or text in case of an emergency. Finally, at 1:54am, when we couldn't take it any longer, I texted management but got no response until a 6:42am text of, "We apologize for this." At breakfast the next morning, Carole and Angie did apologize. Carole said that she did not hear the 1:54am text. They made light of the incident and said they couldn't have done anything anyway since the police won't do anything when the drunken guests are screaming inside their room (by the time Police would've arrived). I would expect more from management at a hotel so, why not at a Bed & Breakfast? Carole and Angie even joked about the time another guest actually called the police over drunken, disorderly guests. We did not find any of this amusing since we were really tired after our sleep was disrupted for hours. Upon expressing our dissatisfaction about the middle of the night debacle and requesting at the least, a one-half comp for the night, I was offered a discount on a future weekday stay along with much attitude from Carole via several texts as she couldn't understand why we could be upset. When I responded to an email soliciting a 5-star review, the owner, Allison Witherow, replied "we can offer a fully complimentary night's stay for the future on a date of your choice. Because your original reservation is several weeks in the past, this is our standard procedure in lieu of a refund." I addressed the matter on check-out day but, now time is the reason for refusing to issue the refund. I would not consider returning to this Inn after this experience. Unfortunately, our plans for the check-out day were ruined as well since, we were dragging all day after not getting the proper rest overnight. If the "Bed" portion of our visit hadn't been such a fiasco, I wouldn't even mention that the breakfast was a disappointing, half-hearted effort. The Italian omelet was microwaved (not kidding) scrambled eggs on a thick slice of rock-hard Italian bread. I suppose the earlier seating got the fresh omelets. So, if your goal is to hit the nightlife on Flagler Avenue and mix with the nightlife to all hours, the Inn on the Avenue is the lodging for you.
