My new place to get my haircut! I've always gone with Jose at Dapper. He gets the job done and he gets the job right! Always a great cut! Extra plus if you're a Raider fan (i'm not but i'm cool with them) because there's a lot of Raider memorabilia there. Really cool place with a good vibe. Everyone helps each other out here so it's a nice atmosphere to be in. Lots of laughter and smiles! One thing to remember though, please use their online appointment scheduler as they do get booked up pretty fast. Late post: Since our relocation from the Bay to SJ 5 months ago. Finding the right barber who is kid friendly, professional, listens to what you want and know how to tailor to your needs is so important in this age and time. For my son, he likes to stick with a salon but he has grown and we had one that we went to back in DC but my son always got cut for some reason and the guy took over an hour. I wasn't happy about that. After hearing about Bryan, I had to read all the reviews too. Scheduling was easy. I called and text. Bryan was at The Barbershop then moved to Dapper. The cut took about 30 minutes or so. I think we may have just found our "go to guy". Hands down for your patience! I followed my regular barber Bryan Do here from the previous shop. It's a little more expensive, but I value consistency more! Quick recap of my first experience with Bryan: two years ago, I was looking for a new barber and a new hairstyle. I figured that I should go with an Asian barber this time around, and it paid off big time. He introduced me to the medium taper fade comb over, which I still rock to this day. I still get compliments about my hair! The clipper, shears, and straight razor were like his own hands; in less than 30 minutes, he had finished cutting and styling my hair with precision. I found this place on Yelp during a frantic search to find a next-day appointment after I accidentally botched the side of my head, trimming my beard. I was a little nervous about parking when I found the place but turned into one of the side streets and found street parking easily. I made an appointment with Juan (Juanthebarber), got there about 10 minutes early, and waited inside until he finished up with his earlier appointment. They have spacers so everyone is 6ft apart while waiting, a sign-in with temperature checker, and hand sanitizer at the entrance. I explained what happened to my botched head to Juan and asked if he could fix it. He was confident and ended up giving me a clean fade and textured the top (didn't want to trim much up top so took his suggestion). Juan was personable and followed exactly what I needed/wanted. I've been knowing Brian for about 4-5 years and he's always been a Friendly, welcoming, honest barber and friend. Walking in here, you can tell these guys love what they do, are having a blast, and have big plans for the future of the shop. The place itself is clean, has a TV, plays good music and is nicely decorated so far (ask about the custom bench). Definitely has a neighborhood shop feel going on but with a modern touch, with things like online appointments (which are much more convenient than calling). I've been going to Juan for years and will definitely continue to do so. His cuts are always on point and he's willing to give advice on how to achieve whatever certain look you're aiming for. He's definitely a friendly guy and pays attention to detail, both during the cut (he doesn't rush and won't let you go until your hair looks perfect) or just while talking (he'll ask you about some place you said you were going to dinner at last time you got a cut, etc). Though I've never gotten a cut from Hector, I've seen his work plenty of times (he's usually always got a customer at the same time I'm with Juan) and it always looks fresh.
