Beautiful corner restaurant. Pleasantly surprised. I ordered a chicken rice bowl and my niece had the kale falafel salad. We both enjoyed the scrumptious food!! So damn flavorful and gratifying with every forkful. The gentlemen gave us a little surprise dessert that was also heavenly. I will definitely return. Had such a great encounter here. They offer happy hour daily from 12pm-7pm. $5 Draft $7 Sangria 1/2 off bottle of wine. They also have a brunch menu. Stop on by if you're ever in the neighborhood you will not be disappointed.

Stopped in here for a quick lentil soup because the reviews were good and I am pleasantly surprised at the 1) price point 2) quality and love of the food and 3) the cute space and ambiance. The inside is small, but they have a bar for single diners with beer and wine and great coffee and tea. The lentil soup was big for the price and I got a chicken shawarma platter ($20) and lamb kibbeh ($10) to go. No dish, including entrees, is over $20. I will definitely be back to try all the mezze and tapas as some of them were very unique variations. They also have a delicious looking brunch menu on weekends 11am-4pm. The staff was super prompt and friendly and the house made hot sauce is bomb!

Dar 525 is situated in a great location within Williamsburg and Greenpoint. From the outside, the exterior is really inviting - kind of like your neighborhood restaurant spot. The staff were friendly to us and attentive to anything that we might have needed. Dar 525 had outdoor seating and indoor seating - we opted for indoor seating just because of the current heat wave. Food wise, I like how the menu isn't too large. A menu that isn't too large makes it easy to order and everything on the menu looked authentic and like something I'd want to order. We decided to order a mix of dishes - to start out we had the Muhamara, a dip made up of spicy roasted red peppers, cashews, olive oil & spices. The muhamara was tasty and definitely something we could just get a tub of and indulge in for days. Additionally, we ordered the bowls which were packed with flavor and a really good portion - my favorite bowl was the meatballs & bowl.

Dar525's food exceeded my expectations! Every menu item my group tried was a hit. I was especially a fan of the cheese filled Syrian rolls and the kale and falafel bowl. If you're a vegetarian, this place is perfect. The restaurant was a little small, so maybe call in advance if you have a party larger than 4. It's a cute date spot with a cozy ambiance. There were moments where service felt a bit slow, but there was also only 1 server the night we went. He was super nice and worked with our dietary restrictions.

Lebanese and Syrian food is a favorite of mine so we stopped into Dar 525 for lunch. After trying an assortment of dishes, I can confidently say this is one of, if not the best Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurants I've visited. From the hummus to the baklava and everything in between, it was delicious. The service was attentive but not overbearing and the outdoor patio had a much needed heater. I'll be back the next time I visit.

I've always passed by this place as I walk to the K bridge. This was always a restaurant that I've been wanting to check out. There are two locations just in case someone gets confused, but this one is in Greenpoint and the other one is in Williamsburg. They take reservations only if you have 6+ pepeople. There are two menus during the weekend which is the lunch menu (11am-3:30pm) and brunch time (11am-4pm). They have an all day menu too during the week (11am-11pm). I chose the lunch special on a weekend and got the Kafta Kebab. The kebab is all meats mixed together and formed into a kebab. You can either get a platter which comes with 2 pieces or a wrap which would be 1. All meals come with bread. I ate their za'atar bread and it was an interesting combination. According to the server it is a staple bread for all Mediterranean people. It is a spiced pita bread with olive oil, spices like oregano. If I'm ever in the mood for Mediterranean food again I would go back here.

My boyfriend and I ate here for brunch and we would definitely come back! Our server, Phil, was really helpful in guiding us what to order since it was our first time eating there. My bf got chicken & rice bowl and I got the syrian shakshuka w/ feta cheese, and we got fries on the side. Both dishes were delicious and more filling than we thought they would be! We also got cocktails w/ wine and strawberry lemonade which were also really tasty. This is the perfect spot for a date as it's a small and intimate setting, but you could also come here w/ girlfriends- esp since on weekends, they have bottomless brunch :) def a must try if you're in Greenpoint!

I ordered delivery recently from Dar 525 and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the assorted plate, which comes with five cold mezzes of your choice. I chose muhamara, labne, mousaka, stuffed grape leaves, and chipotle humus. The mousaka for me was just okay. Not really my taste. The rest were super delicious, especially the muhamara. It is a must buy. I also ordered the falafel platter. The falafels are pretty tasty. It also came with hummus and babaganouj, which I really enjoyed. The included salad is pretty good too if you enjoy pickles. It is heavy on those. I definitely look forward to visiting in-person and trying more muhamara and other dishes!

This cozy corner reopened a space that was dormant for years. This makes me happy. It was a boring Sat, and the decision was to go out aimless in search of food. Luckily Dar popped up and we set our sights. Middle Eastern fare was on our radar because let's be honest, what's more satisfying than delicious meats or vegetables options with fresh ingredients? Dar delivered the goods for sure. The spot is cozy. A well needed addition to south GP, Dar serves up a great selection of app dips, Kafta platters, veggie lovers pita sammies, and delicious pizzas with all the usual suspects. The latter of which is something I will return to enjoy. This is a great new addition to the neighborhood. I literally might go back tomorrow... I had lunch here on a Sunday recently. It wasn't very crowded which surprised me a little bit because it has such good reviews. The decor is nice with a big brick oven for pizzas right in the corner. They have a weekend brunch menu with eggs, etc, but I ended up getting a plate with a bunch of dips and salads (vegetarian) and it was out of this world. The eggplant and roasted pepper salads with hummus and the really good pita bread was a great combo. The style of pita they use is really light and flakey as opposed to the heavy pitas you see at a lot of places around Williamsburg/Greenpoint. I usually leave those other places wishing I had skipped the pita all together, but here they really nail it. Like everyone else says the portions are giant. I'm definitely going back to try more stuff. It's a good alternative to Oasis if you live in that part of Greenpoint. read more

First time there for take-out's. Was offered a glass of water while I was waiting for my order which is a nice touch. The Chicken Gyro Wrap and Falafel Plater was both delicious and contains a generous amount of food. Excellent value for the money and plan to go there again. read more

This place was amazing. I got the SAFIHA and others at the table got LAMB KEBAB, BEET SALAD, and the FALAFEL WRAP and everything was so great! I highly recommend the Safiha. I live in LA and was just visiting NYC but when I come back I want to go back here! I know there a lots of places to eat in NYC but wow the flavors were just so beautifuly paired and everything tasted so fresh. read more

This place was such a wonderful experience. I went here with a friend before a show at Brooklyn Steel not really expecting anything special, but wow. This place has it all! A great menu, beautiful space, ambiance, kind staff, a great drink selection, and very affordable. And of course- great food. It was such an effervescent experience overall! Just got done with dinner and had to let the world know- Dar 525 in Greenpoint is so so good! We had the Dar burger and tilapia dinner. We also got a side of falafel to share and then a piece of baklava for desert. Everything was just so fresh and delicious. The prices are really great too- you get a lot for what you pay! read more

Words cannot express how much I love this restaurant. It ticks all the boxes. Great location, great atmosphere, great prices, ah-mazing food, unique and authentic. I've been here almost 10 different times and have never had a bad experience. It always smells heavenly when you walk in, service is always good. I have never had to wait for a table. The lamb burger is probably the best burger I've ever had, the pizzas are all baked in giant ovens and so is the flatbread it comes out chewy but is still beautifully crisp around the edges. I have never more highly recommended a restaurant in Brooklyn ever. read more

Dar has been my go to for Mediterranean since moving to Greenpoint. The chicken has always been perfectly seasoned and cooked and we have ordered the burger 6 times if not more. Fries are great and so are all the sauces, definitely worth a at least one visit or an order! I look forward to going to brunch in person after covid. read more

Had a fantastic lunch today with my wife and 9-month old son. Our server Addy was extremely friendly and kind to us... he went out of his way to talk to us about the cuisine we ordered, and suggested some things for our baby to try. Our baby was elated for the entire meal, loving the new textures and flavors, and 'conversing' with our server. We ordered a merguez platter and a mezze sampler with some items we hadn't tried before (and we've been to plenty of Middle Eastern restaurants!) and were very satisfied with both. We could tell our server was proud and humble about his food and restaurant and couldn't have asked for a better experience! read more

This place is AMAZING! A cute little spot - maybe 10 tables in the whole place. very cozy and the staff is SO friendly. I was with a group of 4 and we sat down at a table, decided to do the bottomless brunch option (which is an entree and 60 mins of bottomless brunch drinks - mimosa, Bellini, bloody, sangria). They do start the clock on you and time you pretty closely, but they are good about refilling you when you're glass is empty! The food was surprisingly delicious, as usually the bottomless brunch type places have sub par food. I had the greek open faced omelette and it was AMAZING! Highly recommended. read more

Absolutely the best Turkish food I have ever had that wasn't homemade. I have celiac disease. The food here is completely safe because they make the flat bread in a pizza oven outside the kitchen. I recommend the chicken kabob platter. read more

The consistent excellence and variety over all of our four visits makes Traif a can't miss destination. As out-of-towners, I only wish we could get here more often.

We ordered the charcuterie board and it was one of the best I've ever had. It was packed with an incredible variety of meats and cheeses and was more than enough to generously feed our table of four. At a lot of wine bars, I leave still feeling unsatisfied, but this one was filling and so well done. I had the Riesling and it was amazing -- the perfect balance of sweet and dry. And the real star of the show was the grilled cheese with ragù. So delicious. I'm from LA, but we will absolutely be back every time we're in Brooklyn. Highly recommend & cannot say enough about this place! It was one of the highlights of our trip :)

I bet you they'll have it. If you're not into whiskey/bourbon they have cocktails too. They've also got a solid menu of food an snacks. The setup is a really classy looking bar with clean woodwork. The dining area is pretty open spaced. The tables didn't look too close together. I would say this is an excellent date spot. Take a look around the corner to the back of the establishment and you'll find a smaller room with a pool table. We migrated there the moment we found it. I could keep going on about the service (STELLAR) and the tasty drinks but the bottom line is that you need to go! Grab your inner circle and make a visit!

They offer brunch alcoholic drinks in pitchers which is convenient to share with the table. The space is huge and tastefully decorated with dozens of real plants. Great place for big groups. There was a live jazz with a vocalist playing which added to the high energy. It got a bit loud at times, but we were seated right next to the stage. Our servers were also so accommodating and funny when we had very staggered arrivals and various allergies at the table.

The draft wine was surprisingly delicious. Our server was incredibly sweet. The patio was very very cute. I would definitely return for future casual hangouts.

The flavor of the sesame stirato was excellent but the bread itself was a tad too chewy for the filling we got with it (tuna salad), so that style probably works better with the jambon beurre. Will definitely be on the rotation whenever I'm in the city -- would love to try some of their seasonal/limited edition items one day, though not sure if I have it in me to brave the lines that can form on the weekends, lol! There are two private rooms downstairs that fit about 6-7 people each. The rooms are adjoining and good for large groups. Seating downstairs is the Japanese-style tables where you put your legs into a pit under the table. Decor and ambiance is very nice, and seating is comfortable. It was fun for the younger people but it was difficult for the elders to sit down and get back up. The DJ (DJ Stretch) on the rooftop was amazing and played a lot of old school music from different genres. The venue was packed on Valentines day (2025). There was also an amazing violinist, (Judithviolinist on IG). This is definitely a place to check out and get your grub on or just sit and chill. There's tons of seats available picnic style or lounge/ sofa seating.

If your headed over the bridge for a night, this place is worth checking out as it's also right nearby the instagram-able views!

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my experience at DAR525 in Bed-Stuy on Saturday, January 24, 2026.. While the food was fresh and delicious, the lack of customer service and transparency was unacceptable. Despite the freezing outdoor temperatures, the restaurant was incredibly cold. My guests and I ate while wearing our coats, hats, and scarves. When we asked to have the heat turned up, we were told the system was broken and the thermostat could not be adjusted. However, I noticed the restroom was perfectly warm with hot air blowing from the vent. When I requested to speak with a manager, I was told he had already left. After I requested compensation for the shockingly uncomfortable environment, the staff called him. I was offered a meager 10% discount, which I find insufficient given the circumstances. Furthermore, a staff member informed me that their heating issue began on January 23rd. Had I been informed of this when I made my reservation, I would have chosen to order takeout or dine elsewhere. While there have been far and few times that I have experienced a known issue at a restaurant, each time, the server or manager offered compensation willingly. Yesterday's lack of respect, customer care, and consideration for our discomfort left a lasting impression. It is disappointing that quality food was overshadowed by such blatant disregard for the customer's well-being. Management should ensure that staff are empowered to handle these situations with transparency and better care for the customer. read more
