We met our friends in Jacksonville and they introduced us to Darby's. At first thought I was not happy about going there as I am not a fan of table top games. Once there we met Taylor who was one of the staff and she was amazing! Her customer service skills and attitude are on point. They serve different coffees, teas, soda, beer and wine. They also have some snacks to choose from. I learned a couple of new games that I loved and again Taylor was so fun we will definitely return again.

Welcome to Darby's Dungeon , the first fully submersive table top gaming experience of its kind in Jacksonville! Perfect for new and experienced gamers and a great place to chill and learn by the tavern! So excited to have something like this in Jacksonville! Game on!

This place is great! Literally go here to play games every other day, there prices for all-day board game play is cheap and so is their paints!

Overcrowded and disrespectful. They sell more tickets then they have room for and then blame the patron.

Great place to spend your time doing what moves you. There isn't anything like it. The "Bar" scene is not for everyone!

The energy is always high, the vibes are immaculate, and the staff keeps the shelves stocked with a ridiculous variety of comics, collectibles, action figures, FUNKO Pops, short boxes, supplies, and more. It's literally the kind of place where you can lose an hour without even realizing it. First off, say hello to Pacer, the AMAZING shop dog and official mascot of Gotham City Limit. He's the sweetest, the best greeter, and the best browsing buddy. Who doesn't want to shop with a good boy by your side? If you don't see Ben, you'll definitely hear his greeting from somewhere in the store as that man is just nonstop. Ben's dedication shows, especially on Free Comic Book Day and special release days, when Gotham City Limit turns into a full-blown celebration. On top of that, he partners with Jacksonville Public Library when they host comic-centered events and you'll see him at different conventions throughout the year. Ben makes sure everyone, from kids to hardcore collectors, feels welcome and included. Also big love to Jonathan (one of the OGs of comic shops in Jax) and Santana, who are always ready to talk storylines, their newest recommendations, or help you find the one issue that you didn't know you were missing. My pull list will ebb and flow depending on what is being released or if I want single issues of something. However, the numero uno items that I always want to see are the latest Baby Marvel covers from Skottie Young. The team has my account tagged for those specifically, and that kind of attention to detail is incredible. It's the kind of personal touch that makes you feel truly seen as a collector and fan. Gotham City Limit is a little slice of geeky heaven in Jax and one of the last remaining locally owned comic shops in this area of town. So make sure to swing by for a visit sometime soon and, as Ben says, always take it to the limit!

If you love comics and pop culture in general, you really need to stop by this store. We try to stop in whenever we're over in Mandarin. While I've never been big into comic books, I've always loved pop culture collectibles. I know they can't carry everything in store but every time we're in there I'm amazed by how much they do have on hand. Sure, there are huge online stores that you can order tons of things from but like always, I'd rather support a local Jacksonville business if at all possible. Especially if it's a place I've received great customer service from before and that's the case with Mythical Mountain. We've called ahead before when we were looking for gifts and had them remember the call hours later when we got to the store and helped us find the perfect gift. I took a few pics to share but I still don't think it gives you a good idea of how much stuff they have in the store. I didn't find anything I wanted to pick up today but my wife found a Mick Foley action figure that she bought for herself, so that's a win for America. If you needed any further proof of the level of customer service and care they provide, you don't really need to look further than the most recent post I made about them in the the Jacksonville Fun, Eats & Drinks Facebook group. I posted a recap of our most recent visit in the group and mentioned the part you just read about how I didn't find anything then I mentioned that I need to call them some time to see if they can get their hands on one of the Michael Jackson figures made by Blitzway because they seem like the type of store that might be able to get that type of thing. Then I went on to say that even if they can't get it, I'd still rather try if I can go through a local place first before somewhere online. Within minutes, the store owner left a comment asking me to send her a DM with information on what I'm looking for to see if she can help. See what I mean? You can't get that kind of customer service from any online store, no matter how big and bad they are... If you like stuff like this, stop in at Mythical Mountain in Mandarin some time. Even if collectables or comics aren't your thing, I bet you could find a gift for someone you know at this store with ease. As I mentioned, a version of this post originally appeared in the Jacksonville Fun, Eats & Drinks Facebook group.

This store boasts a grand selection of unique and somewhat hard-to-find items, and I get a thrill from all there is to look at. I especially love that Old Towne carries Playmobil. Playmobil used to be more popular in Florida, as there were once a couple of Playmobil Fun Parks - one in Orlando, one in Palm Beach Gardens. The brand, behind Star Wars, was my favorite toy throughout the 80s, and somehow I just haven't been able to stop collecting them. The staff have always been welcoming and friendly, and each went out of their way to look up information about toys we've inquired about. The prices are decent. As a locally owned and operated store, I'd expect the price to be a little higher than what you'd expect from a well-known, brick-and-mortar business. There is a clearance section, which is nice, but it doesn't help me, particularly... At any rate, St. Augustine is Florida's most captivating city, and Old Towne Toys is one of its finest treasures, and my favorite part of going there.

I mentioned my previous work experience--just casual conversation--and before I could finish my sentence, she snapped, "Stop. We do not do that here." The other employee looked uncomfortable, like she had seen this before. Should've been my first red flag. Still, I stayed polite. Asked about safety, considering the late hours and nature of the business. Reasonable question, right? Instead of an answer, I got a self-righteous lecture about compassion. Funny, considering I was being treated like a nuisance for asking a workplace safety question. I mentioned I'm sober from alcoholism, and suddenly, the attitude shifted--she shut up real quick. Then came the moment of pure, unfiltered disrespect. She asked how I'd handle an angry customer. I said I don't fight fire with fire. She laughed at me. Not with me--at me. A smug little chuckle, like she was enjoying some private joke at my expense. I turned to the other employee and asked, point-blank, if I had said something wrong. No real answer--just that tense silence that says everything. When it was time to hand me the application, she didn't just pass it--she slid it across the counter like I was wasting her time. No "thank you," no "goodbye," just pure dismissal. A class act. To the owner: if this is how management treats people in public, I'd start asking what's happening behind closed doors. People notice. People talk. And bad business practices always catch up. Do better. If you're considering working here--don't. Unless you enjoy being disrespected for sport. ******Edit: After reading multiple Google reviews, I am not the first person she refused to give her name to when asked. Several reviews describe her behavior as unprofessional and consistent with what I experienced while in her store.
