We purchased a vehicle from Darcars Honda in December and initially received nothing but red-carpet service. Unfortunately, everything changed after the sale. On December 26, 2025, we canceled our extended warranty in person after being given incorrect information that the warranty had already expired (when in fact there was still approximately one year remaining). Since that day, we have never received written confirmation of the cancellation, no documentation of any refund, and no confirmation that the warranty charge has been removed from our loan. What we have received is weeks of runaround, vague responses, and a complete lack of follow-through. We have chased this repeatedly for almost two months with no resolution. This is not a small issue -- this directly affects a financed loan and our monthly payments. The contrast between the sales experience and post-sale support is staggering. 1/1/2026- Katherine Mezza told me she had ordered apart for my car they had broken. The part that opens my hood. She said it would be in on Tuesday. I waited until 3pm on Tuesday and called them. I was transferred so many times and put on long time holding. Put on hold no one ever came back to the phone after 20 minutes I hung up called back. Got parts dept service manager. I made multiple attempts to address my concerns with management; however, I was informed that the manager was "too busy" to speak with me. I spoke to corporate about Darcars selling my grand daughter a car that the engine was bad aftet driving the car for 60 days and was told the inspection would not have shown that the engine was bad. If you are selling the car out of a car dealership not a car lot on the corner they have all the equipment to inspect their cars. They were closed for three weeks because the business didn't have money to pay their staff so they are taking it out on the customers by selling the lemons to increase they sales. read more

I dropped off my Honda Pilot for a recall in Darcars Honda of fairfax, and they assured me they would call once the recall was completed. However, the service advisor, Samar Yousif, never contacted us. We had to follow up ourselves to confirm whether the recall had been completed. When I picked up the vehicle in the evening, it was left dirty, with scuffs on the dashboard. The odometer clip wasn't even secured. While cleaning the dashboard and odometer, I noticed dust and a small white piece inside, indicating they had tampered with it. I returned to the dealership to explain the situation, but they showed no concern. Samar Yousif then brought over her service manager, Herson Hernandez. He walked back and forth with his hands in his pockets and asked, "What's going on?" I responded, "You should already know since she brought you here." He dismissively replied, "Oh, we didn't do anything, and we're not going to fix it." Instead of addressing the issue, he started arguing with me and simply handed me the key. I believe service manager Herson Hernandez and his colleagues need better customer service training, along with skilled and properly trained technicians. Honda headquarters needs to enforce stricter quality control over the dealerships that sell and service their vehicles. If customers are bringing in their vehicles for repairs or recalls, dealerships must be held accountable for any damage or issues that occur during the service. Based on this customer service experience, I would not recommend Darcars Honda in Fairfax, nor would I recommend Honda vehicles, as they fail to stand behind their repairs or take responsibility for any damage caused to customers' vehicles. The experience with DARCARS in Bowie was the reason why people have negative opinions regarding car sales people & the industry as a whole. From bait-and-switch to sleeping service team members to shoddy (at best) repairs, they exemplified most stereotypes of the industry. I'll give them credit for (hopefully) making things right, but it was a process that shouldn't have ever gotten to the point it got to. Prosecutors accuse Darcars Honda on Crain Highway in Bowie of unfair and deceptive sales practices in violation of the state's Consumer Protection Act. The dealership allegedly posts prices online for well below what buyers end up having to pay. Hidden fees are what catch customers off-guard. According to the Attorney General, Darcars charges an extra 2 percent of the car value under the guise of "sales commission." The dealer claims the fee is optional but they reportedly don't tell the consumer that it is. Despite being listed as "sales commission," the state says Darcars employees see none of that two percent. In fact, prosecutors argue Darcars instead pockets the money to offset commission they pay their workers. On top of that, Darcars is said to charge an additional $895 for preinstalled equipment that's supposed to already be included in the sales price. Again, Darcars insists such equipment is optional under what they call the "Honda Value Package." Prosecutors, however, dispute that. Mechanical services is a problem, I told the shop my car has two broken lug nut studs that needed to be replaced. Due to the lug nuts being cross threaded on to the studs, after just taking my car in for an oil change along with other things they inspect for recommended services. They had my car all day from opening until closing and still did not complete the work. I do not understand what the mechanic was doing with my car all day and the reason for me being back for still not completed. read more

I bought my car from here about 2 years ago . My Salesman were and still are very helpful. MELVINA (the older African American lady that works the front desk) absolute nightmare. It's like she hates her job, her life and everyone that walks through those doors. She never smiles or greats you , and she's always "busy" and frowning rolling her eyes when you ask her a question. Today I went in and mistook her for a cashier because she's the one I paid my down deposit with. I didn't realize she was on the phone because she had it on speaker. My wife got a letter from DARCARS Honda about possibly trading in her current vehicle and lowering her monthly payments on a possible upgrade. We contacted them back because we were interested, and were set up with Keith Harris (Sales Associate). We actually came in that day early, because we both happened to get out of work early, and for whatever reason when we got there (2 hours early) Keith was actually in the process of leaving for the day.We were given a 6 P.M. appointment, but he said he attempted to contact my wife earlier in the day (which he did) but he failed to reach her. Not sure why he needed to reach her though, when we were already scheduled to meet at 6 P.M. Anyways, we sat down with him, and he began asking questions on what my wife was looking for, and about our situation. She was paying 700 monthly on a 2017 Highlander, and our main goal was just to get out from under that payment. 500 was the number she said she was looking to pay. The paperwork we initially received stated that they may be able to pay off the balance of our vehicle, and set us up in a new or used car. When asked what ind of car she was looking for, she made it clear that she wasn't very picky. The car just had to fit our family in it. She said several times that to get the payment down she was even willing to got a used car. Keith was very adamant that he was going to get us into a car that evening. We filled out paperwork, blah blah blah, credit was ran and the waiting without any real answers began. Note: About 10 minutes into our appointment Keith asked for the keys to the Highlander. We would not see those keys again for 6 hours. So Keith comes back and tells us that he has a 2018 Honda Accord that he was looking to get us and, and while our credit was being ran, and negotiations were going on with the bank we took a test drive. The car was a demo, so it had somewhere in the ball park of 2000 miles on it already, which wasn't a big deal to us as long as we weren't paying 700 monthly for it. So we finish the test drive, and we have now been here about 2 hours.We get back inside, and are told that numbers are still being crunched, and negotiations are still underway. At this time my wife starts asking for a ball park figure of what we're looking to pay for the car. Keith cannot give us any numbers, but he somehow can assure that it will be well under 700 and we will walk away happy. He even goes ahead and has us do some paperwork ahead of time, and seemed really sure of himself. So we're thinking okay this guy knows his stuff so lets just trust him. Note: So at this point Keith knows what we are willing to do to get the cost down on our monthly. He knows that this is the whole reason why we are here in the first place. He knows what we are looking to pay monthly. He knows we have been here for 3 hours at this point, and he knows that he hasn't even shown us a number yet. With all of that he is assuring us that my wife will be completely satisfied when the number comes, and we are going to leave happy. So we wait about another 2 hours. There telling us that they are unusually busy that day and they only had 1 person doing Finance. He was wrapping up with another set of customers and he should be with us shortly to go over the numbers. Again we are assure that we will be happy with the numbers by Keith (who is still in possession of my keys). So its about 2.5 hours total of waiting, and we have now been here for 4.5 hours. We finally get into the office with the gentlemen in charge of the finance department (along with Keith), and he says $670.00 a month. We have been waiting 4.5 hours for them to tell us that they can take $30.00 off of monthly a month. My wife is upset because here we are waiting because Keith has assure us that the monthly will be WELL under 700. He said multiple times that it will be WELL under 700, and they talking $670.00. The issue is that had they just ball parked it for us 3 hours prior we would've just said no thanks and went away with no hard feelings. However Keith strung us along with his promise of a monthly that was WELL under 700.00. My wife and I talk it over, but we're honestly pretty pissed because the whole thing is just starting to feel shady, and so we so no thanks, and attempt to leave. They catch us in the hallway, and have a manager come talk to us. Really nice guy, but he's telling us why we had to wait, and how they were jumping people over us to get them out the door, because of the 1 finance guy, and because we had a full contract potentially. However all we are really hearing is that they knew our numbers hours ago, but stalled us so they could pitch us harder. My husband and I are going over the numbers and seeing where we can save to make up for the still high number. The manager actually comes back and gives us a quote for 648.00 Which is still not 500, but its 648.00 with 15% APR and we're paying 700.00 at 3% on the truck. We had just recently purchased a home, and we have a ton of inquiries coming off of our credit report, so we ended up purchasing the car, because when we refinance it will be well under 500.00. We finish up the paperwork, and wrap everything up with Keith who has suddenly appeared back around with my husbands keys, and the keys to the Accord. The whole process was very stressful, but the finance guy did a really good job selling us the car... Keith however was not happy i'm guessing with the survey that I did about the service that I received, and sent me Emojis and a picture to show his disapproval of my review/ survey. I'm also assuming that since my wiper fluids already need to be replaced, that they did not top off the fluids in the car before I took it home that night. Given the chance to do it all again I would not. 4 hours of unfulfilled guarantees, and and waiting and 1 hour 15 minutes of realizing it wouldn't be what we were told, and 45 minutes of the manager and finance guy making up for Keith's poor practices, because though he was a very personable. He could've been more direct. In the end he came off as if his only mission was to sell a car, and not providing the best service to the customer. read more

Honda dealer Darcar guy named Rocky said I must pay $250 for diagnosis and $1100 to replace all 4 tire sensors for a total of $1350 with no guarantee that the problem will be fixed. I declined and went to my trusted mechanic Jon Panuska who fixed the problem with a new tire sensor for $150. The dealer was going to rip me off with 10x the actual cost to fix it. read more

I had a good experience purchasing a new vehicle at Darcars Honda in Bowie. I worked with Milton, Payam, and Shahrooz. Milton was very thorough in showing us the features of the car and demonstrating the safety features during the test drive. He was not pushy. Payam was willing to negotiate, and I felt the price we settled on was fair. The only thing I didn't like is that at one point I was given a paper to sign but not told explicitly what I was signing for. I suspected it was agreeing to the purchase price, so I asked, and Milton confirmed that if I wanted to negotiate the price I would have to do so before signing. So that felt a bit sneaky, but I am generally on my guard in a car dealership so I was prepared to ask that question. We negotiated a very long time on the warranty and did finally agree to a fair price. They were a bit pushy on the warranty, but I expect that - they make a ton of their money there. Shahrooz handled all of our final paperwork and was very kind and professional. Overall, I had a great experience and will happily recommend this dealership to my friends. read more

Maliq who originally sold me my car was nothing short of amazing, as for everyone else in the building I simply can't say the same. I am a young girl buying my first vehicle and they tried giving me the run around and hitting me with so many hidden fees because they thought they could. After I buy my car I find out they never submitted my pay stubs and proceeded to lose them after this and I actually almost lost the financing that was granted to me on my brand new vehicle!! Now that the financing is smoothed out and I assume everything is good to go and I thankfully no longer have to deal with these ignorant people who ignore phone calls, boom my dealer temp tags expire!! I have been calling for three consecutive days in a row and given the run around until eventually the line disconnects. I have had two cases with Darcars of Honda were the repairs on my vehicle have been done very unprofessionally. The first time they changed my oil the cap was left off and the fumes quickly entered into the car. The second time they forgot to place the lug nuts on my tire causing my car to wobble very badly. I was so scared because I didn't know at first what the issue was. I placed my trust into Darcars of Honda and this is the second time that they have dropped the ball. They state on their website and when you call in the safety of their customers, which they don't. That is false advertisement and they placed me in danger not once but twice. read more

Just took our certified used 2021 Odyssey to the DARCARS Honda service center for oil and filter change. Upon pick-up, I read the service details paperwork to discover the DARCARS Honda service center suggested I have our brakes replaced at our next service time and our tires "will need replacement soon." ("Technician found brakes between 4mm-6mm and our tire tread 5/32" for all tires"). As my wife and I have only put 3,500 miles on the certified used vehicle, we had the vehicle objectively checked again (at another dealership, where they checked it in front of me) the next day to discover all tires are 8.5-9/32" and the breaks to be 9-10s... The cost, should we have had the repairs completed all at once, would have been $2000-$2300 (per Honda of Annapolis). I hope this helps anyone when taking their vehicle to DARCARS HONDA in the future. read more

Sales is cool but the service team is absolutely disgusting. When I dropped my car off, I informed the service worker that I was having an issue with my alternator( I know this because I received a diagnostic from another auto shop but wanted to bring it to a Honda dealership being that my vehicle is a Honda.) MICHAEL SAMUELS proceeded to undermine my concerns, schoolgirl giggled in my face and tell me he "doubts that the issue". He is very condescending and disrespectful. He then tried to tell me pricing for a diagnostic even though my vehicle is under warranty. I quickly corrected him that service and repairs should be at no cost since my vehicle is still under warranty. Nonetheless, I left my vehicle with this shop sure they would find the issue once they performed their own diagnostic. This was Saturday. Monday morning I reach out checking on the status of my vehicle and was informed there was nothing in the system showing my vehicle was even there in the first place. I insisted that it was and was told I would receive a call back. I never received that call. I reached out hours later and spoke with Gabby. She told me there was nothing wrong with my battery. I corrected her that my car was there for an issue with the alternator not battery and she responded " oh yea the alternator is fine too". How do you know this, if you didn't even know the actual reason my car was there in the first place? I picked up my car later that day after being informed nothing was wrong. Crazy, because this morning( the day after picking my car up) my car would not start at all. I called the dealership again and spoke with MICHAEL SAMUELS who tried to lie and say he wasn't there on Saturday the initial day I dropped my car off. I genuinely feel like he is completely condescending and overlooked my concerns about my vehicle , tried to get me to pay out of pocket although my car is under warranty because I'm a young woman and in his mind "what would she know about vehicles anyways". read more

Bought my second brand new honda accord in 2013 from Honda of Bowie (now Darcars) along with the Maintenance Plus Service Package that includes- per my contract- OIL CHANGES FOR LIFE. FOR LIFE...not 5 years, not as long as the dealership wants, but ...FOR.... LIFE. I have the contract in hand- there's no asterisks, no info in parenthesis - no small deceptive print. FOR LIFE. I've taken my car in for every single oil change since I bought it. Even after Darcars bought it (2017?), the general manager (Ray Berry) acknowledged the contract, entered a note to charge back the sales dept for it- and I continued to get the maintenance/oil changes per the OIL CHANGES FOR LIFE contract.....for the last FOUR years. Now all of a sudden I go in and they tell me it is expired. HA! Expired? Im not dead, my car is still running....so lifetime is lifetime...right? The life of the car- as long as I own it, right? Yeah- tell that to the service manager, Danny. He could have cared less. Stated Darcars ended that program in March. Really? No one told me when I was just in July (July comes after March, right?) and got my oil change - right- per the contract- OIL CHANGES FOR LIFE. So.....im lost. You "no longer have the "oil change for life program"- yet you advertise it on your website. Interesting. So, sad to say folks, for everyone who has these contracts- Darcars is telling everyone they no longer honor them. He went on to state that Darcars didnt transfer the maintenance contracts when they bought out Honda of Bowie. If that is indeed the case, you "did not assume" the existing contracts, why did you continue to honor it after the fact? You indeed "assumed" this contract when you honored it THE VERY FIRST TIME after Darcars bought the dealership- and EVERY SINGLE TIME AFTER. No worries though- I am working on it because the dealership is indeed obligated now to honor it, since they assumed it that very first time after they bought out the dealership. One more interesting tidbit - guess who called me after I left the dealership- Darcars Honda sales team. Guess why...... they want to buy back my accord and put me in a brand spanking new 2022 accord. BAAAHAAAHAAA! You dont want to honor my OIL CHANGE FOR LIFE contract but you want me to buy a THIRD brand new, fully loaded honda accord from you. Picture that. See photos attached...Care to comment, Darcars? Now, onto the regional office! Here's an update after the GM called to discuss my concerns: While I initially appreciated the GM reaching out, he obviously forgot to mention somewhere in the conversation a mere apology for any mis-communication or not so great experience, or perhaps lack of customer service during my experience. No, instead he stated that they "reviewed the existing service contracts in place and decided not to honor those for customers that only came for oil changes, and not other maintenance work". Really? Wow! So even though my contract states I can get my oil changes for life- no strings attached- the GM deems it voidable because I refuse to pay the hefty dealer prices for other maintenance items. Yeah- ok- let me pay Honda 5x the amount for tires, filters, etc when I can get the same OEM parts wholesale and do it ourselves. Ok. Sure. Too bad for you I am not financially illiterate. Needless to say, our next honda upgrades- and we have 5- will not be at Darcars Honda. Trust me, losing out on a few $35k sales over a oil change contract affects you more than it does me. The absolute worse place of business ever. I brought my vehicle to get two tire replacements. Upon me arriving I had to greet the service representative rather than him greeting me. I arrived at the location at 1042am and then awaited for the representative Kenji to advise the final estimate for the work. When I was not approached at 1230pm, I approached the service representative who advised he forgot to inform me of the final estimate. Leaving my vehicle to not get fixed after all that time. I approved the estimate and waited till 2pm. When my vehicle was ready. I will not be returning to this location and it's a shame being I have been a long time customer for many years. Especially being I brought my vehicle from this location back in 2011. There is obviously issues that need to be corrected with vehicle service center and it starts with the service representatives that work there. read more

Just no. Pros: lovely sales people Cons: everything else Tip: come prepared. Check Reddit and various online Honda forums so you know what incentives are available to customers and the dealer. The dealer will hide these from you unless you know about them and show proof that they are real. The ugly: 1. Paperwork: all VIN #'s on my paperwork were wrong, but dealer did not know that until I caught the error myself days after the deal. I had to come back in and wait for an hour or 2 to get the paperwork all redone. 2. Trade ins and lease pay offs: they will forget to pay what's owed, or will delay payment. I had to call several times to remind them pay off my trade, and had to make an extra payment on trade due to their delay. 3. Insurance: they will forget to notify the state that you have traded in your old car, and the state will charge you fines and threaten to suspend your license because your old car is not insured. I spent hours dealing with this issue on my own and had to argue with the state over more than $250 in fines, which were eventually forgiven. 4. Registration: expect to be driving with expired registration for at least 1 or two weeks as the dealership needs more than 2 months to process permanent registration and will not process it unless you call often to remind them. Be extra careful if you keep your old license plate, because you won't even realize you are driving around with expired registration. The bad: 1. Communication: 1 week after the sale, expect to have to make many, many calls before anyone picks up or is available to assist with any issue, no matter how urgent. Emails will simply be ignored. 2. Vehicle prep: I received a brand new car with 3/4 tank of gas and no wiper fluid, even though the sticker says full tank of gas included. Plastic had not been removed from the car exterior while sitting in the lot, and had melted onto the car. These issues required multiple return visits to get fixed, but to their credit, they were fixed. 3. Accessories: ordered all weather mats at time of purchase, and was told they would take 1 month to come in. After 1.5 months, I called, and was told they had arrived long before, but the person who put my order in had left the company, so no one was assigned to tell me my items had come in. This was my experience, and while it may not reflect what other customers go through, it should be a warning to be very careful when engaging with this dealership. read more

The one star is for the effort and experience with my salesman, Ryan Kelly, who was great. The customer service of everyone else- trash. The finance department at this location is sloppy- this is the worst part. I'm currently waiting on my 7th attempt at a combination of calls and emails about their crap service on two fronts- 1. They spelled my last name wrong which I noted during the closing with finance and refused to sign until paperwork was redone. The finance manager reprinted the pages and had me sign a correct copies but she still messed up somewhere because now my new loan has the wrong last name and I'm stuck waiting on the dealership to fix it. Now I'm also paranoid that she might have made the error in other areas like registration. 2. The contract for a trade in notes a 14 day pay off which I explicitly discussed with finance during my close. It's written in contract and here I am 19 days after purchase asking why it's not completed. When I called on the 11th to check in- day 12 after purchase, they noted that they had mailed the check. But in fact, my bank and loan holder for the trade in noted that the dealership didn't contact them until that very day about the payoff... so either my call to check on the status of the payment prompted them to actually follow through or their overall sloppiness is just coincidental to them taking a full two weeks after purchase to actually follow through. Both of which don't align with what's in the contract or the conversation. I had my brother with me throughout the entire transaction- and he used to work for the location. Don't expect good service here and be weary. DO NOT go to this dealership. The finance department is a nightmare and customer service in trying to rectify their sloppiness or get support is met by more sloppiness and dragged feet. read more

This location is deplorable I had my car serviced here for a recall only for my seatbelt to be replaced with cheap and work as well as my car still reading errors. As for this locations customer service is vexing they are rude always miss quoting prices and attempting to add on more to it. This locations customer services needs to be revamped they also purposely drop your calls as well and maintenance team had my car for 3weeks for something that was stated to take 2 days to fix and never gave a loaner car upon request. Consumers beware I took my car for service they charge me for a tire rotation I took the cap off of the front tire because I had a feeling that they were charging me for these rotations and not doing it lo and behold I pulled off the lot and the tire that I took the cap off of was still in place. STAY AWAY. I am a resident of Delaware. Bought HRV in April 2022. As of September 13, 2022, I have not received my sticker and registration. The staff is nonresponsive. The Voicemail box is full so you cannot leave a message. I drove from Dover, DE to Bowie, MD to handle this matter. There was nothing done to solve this matter. Temporary tags were issued 3 times. The tag and title clerk could not provide tracking information for paperwork ever having been sent to Delaware. She actually suggested for me to drive from Dover, DE to the DMV in Wilmington, DE to hunt down the paperwork. What an insult to suggest something so ridiculous when DARCAR Honda has been paid to process tags and title. It is not by happenstance that my review is almost identical to Lashon B.
