Once you purchase a vehicle, the staff at DARCARS Honda will abandon you. Good luck trying to get any services/assistance after they have your money. They ignore commercial calls, commercial emails, and even calls/texts on their work cell phones. I purchased a used vehicle from DARCARS in January 2022. The process to purchase went quite smoothly. However, I never got my title (to clarify, I purchased virtually and had a family member drive the vehicle to DE since I was sick). I live in DE, so I attempted to call to inquire... I called, left many messages on the commercial phone line, and no one ever responded. I called/texted employee work cells, and they ignored me. I stopped by DARCARS Honda on Thanksgiving weekend (I live in DE), and I met the general manager, Payam Marandloui. I was told that I cannot get paperwork "because even though we're open, it's a Sunday." However, he offered to sell a car... so apparently he can sell a car on Sunday but not give me paperwork for a car I purchased from his dealership. He told me that I cannot get my title from the dealership, and that I needed to buy one from my local DMV. I contacted my local DMV, and they informed me that my dealership needs to provide my title, since it reflected in their system that DARCARS Honda had my official title. When I asked the DMV about my dealership telling me to buy one from them, she confirmed that they were making me buy a duplicate. When I reached back out to the dealership, no response. I recently ordered parts from them, even was sent an email that the parts would be ready on a certain day. And I'm still waiting almost a week later for parts. All I ordered was three sensors and they're telling me they're still not there. I called and was left on hold for half an hour waiting for a response. I had to call the service Center to get someone to call the parts department so I could finally get a response. Even after getting through The parts department said the parts that were supposed to be there is still not there so all in all, after spending almost an hour on the phone, I still don't have what I paid for. We traded in a car for a new SUV on the 24th of last month. The note on the trade in was due on the 6th which we were required to pay because the credit union hadn't received the pay off which was understandable but the first note on the new car was due yesterday and the old car STILL isn't paid off with another note coming up due again on the 6th. I reached out the dealership and spoke with a very nice lady in finance who said she will reach out the accounting department and should have an answer for me today. I followed up today and told me she was told the check would be going out today and they were waiting for corporate to sign it. A month later?? I don't believe that. This review is based on their Service Dept...or lack there of.... I made an appointment this morning to have my Honda Fit checked out. I actually live in Annapolis but Darcars had an appointment available before my local dealer, so I made the 25mins drive down to Bowie for what I thought would be a quicker solution. After arriving and pulling into the service bay, I must have magically turned invisible. I stood leaned against my car as about 4-5 service writers completely ignored me. After just standing there for about 5mins, the invisibility most have started to wear off and I was told that somebody would be with me shortly. I guess the service writer in front of me, who had just gotten off the phone and was too busy telling a young mechanic that the last customer was "f%$king killing me bro"..." ugh f#cking annoying"...Made me really feel welcomed... I was finally called over to a service writer after waiting for about 10mins, I told him I had an appointment and what my issue was. He never bothered looking any of my info up but quickly told me that they wouldn't be able to look at that today.....I mean huh!? Isn't that why I picked an appointment time and drove all the way to your dealer and scheduled a ride? ...and I said I said I had an appointment(which I was early for) "I mean yeah but were really backed up today"...."we might be able to look at it tomorrow"...Granted this was at 10am, and not right before closing.... Look if a part wasn't in stock or if they would have been able to diagnose my problem today but unable to finish the work, I would have totally understood and it's really not that uncommon. Bad experience: Purchased a used civic a couple of weeks ago and got it checked in an autoshop. 1) I am not happy at the fact that front two tires should be replaced soon. An autoshop I visited said it can't pass Maryland inspection. Even a mechanic in your dealership mentioned that the tires need to be replaced in a couple of thousand miles. 2) I am disappointed by the attitude of an agent. He kept talking about what he wants to talk and barely paid attention to what I was saying. He might listened to me but that was the impression I got. When we were in conversation, I spent 90% of the time listening to him and only 10% of the time to speak about what was the problem and how I feel about it. I wonder if it is right way to treat customers. In general I am very disappointed the service I got from Bowie Honda and the impression I got was 'We sold a car and don't care about you now'. I understand that you guys work hard for customer satisfactions but that is the impression I got. And, reading through reviews, I am not the only one who got the impression and disappointment which I personally believe something is not going well. Where do I start? I had just moved to the area and needed to buy a car. I was referred to a man named ifiok (iffy) by a friend who had bought multiple cars from him and said he was the man to go to. Let me say that to me, buying a new car is a big purchase. I didn't want to give my sale to any salesperson who acted like it was no big deal. This is one of the main reasons I am writing this review. Iffy took his time with me when discussing the car and all my options regarding the sale. He was very prepared and knowledgeable of the car and it's features and made sure to show me every aspect from the various safety features to the additional amenities that came with the model I had purchased. Everything that iffy said he was going to do, he followed through on. What was once a tough decision in my mind became an easy one to make. Not only did he provide very competitive prices compared to other dealerships I had contacted, but he was very patient and thorough throughout the process. After the fact, we have needed additional information from our salesman and finance which required numerous calls and emails on our part for someone to even acknowledge or respond to us. This is not a huge annoyance, but it's not the way to conduct good business. In this market, people are begging to sell cars! In hindsight, I would've given someone else my business. read more

Avoid this dealer. This is one year check in on purchase and noticed prior review was removed. Car had a 30 day warranty and I brought it back with a list of items needing repair, brakes, undetected body damage (was covered in pollen when purchased) , coolant problem, and front tires. They said the brakes were replaced - they replaced the pads, not the warped rotors cost me $1400 to replace both, refused to repair damage to a vehicle with a car fax that said no accidents , cost me $800, coolant - replaced water pump prior to sale - but put original coolant back into motor and did not clean all the coolant covering the hood insulation, and refused to replace front tires (back tires were new) even though they would not pass MD inspection and had excessive plugs, cost me $500. Lastly, Grand Cherokee has what seemed like sun damage to the dash leather (Overland Model). Turned out they did a trick to cover up the leather delaminating from the dash. It bubbled and twisted all over the center of the dash within 3 months. This is a quoted 2500-3000 repair that I have not done, but would need to sell it. Buyer beware. read more

LONG POST ALERT: If I could give a negative star I would! Sorely disappointed in my experience considering I used to sing their praises. I scheduled an appointment to get my brakes fixed and was notified there was an airbag recall so I decided I might as well get it taken care of since I'll be going in for service anyway. I asked if I could get a rental car and was told I may be able to get it complimentary due to the fact my car was being worked on for a recall. Please keep in mind I have had complimentary rentals in the past when my vehicle was kept overnight. I was told my service advisor would confirm and give me a call with a yes or no, that never happened. I arrive at my appointment and there is no clear signage on the procedure to wait in your car until an advisor comes to check you in, gripe number one. As I am speaking to my service advisor I asked about getting a complimentary rental and she said "no" so I then asked if I could rent a car and pay out of pocket, again I was told "no" due to it being the day after a holiday and they more than likely won't have a car, however she never checked. At this point I am beyond annoyed because I would have made arrangements to be picked up had I known I couldn't get a rental. I go to the waiting area and it is PACKED which gave me so much anxiety considering we are still in a pandemic. I can't understand why so many appointments were taken to the point the waiting area was so full with people sitting next to each other. I eventually couldn't handle the anxiety so I left the dealership and called an Uber. I received a call from my service advisor later that evening stating my car was ready and asked if I wanted to leave it since they didn't have the parts to do the work for my recall. Mind you, I scheduled an appointment so the parts should have been ordered prior to my arrival. I said I needed my car and would be by to pick it up and drop it back off the next morning. After thinking, I changed my mind and tried to call back but the phone just rang and rang. The next morning I tried calling back but the same thing, no answer. Eventually, I went to pick up my car around 5:30 that evening and was annoyed to see my paperwork sitting on my service advisors desk yet she was nowhere to be found and never called to say my vehicle was ready How was my car kept for 2 days and I was never offered a rental car and no apologies for the inconvenience. It's truly sad because my vehicle is 14 years old and I was in the market for a new car but I will NOT be coming to this dealership for a purchase! We bought our odyssey in the fall of 05 and always have it serviced at the service center. They have a free car wash that I always take advantage of. The vacuum is in a spot that often gets blocked by parked cars which is very annoying. Inside the service center lounge they have a huge screen tv, plenty of comfy seating, coffee, sodas, water and snacks. They also have free wifi. Love it. The children's area is great with movies, books and toys to keep the kids occupied. They always take good care of me at the service center. Michelle is awesome. I took my 2020 crv suv to Darcars Honda because I had water leaking in my car on the passenger side roof top . They told me I was just over the warranty miles by 2668 miles. They wanted me to pay $470.00 for a pressure test before they could give me an estimate. I asked if they could honor the warranty since I was just over the warranty time and that it would've had to rain while driving in order to discover this leak. Long story short I took my car to Williamson Auto. They looked at my car and said it was a clog hose from my sunroof. The bill was a half a hour service charge under 75.00. My son has a Honda Civic with the A/C not working. My son and husband take the car in and paid$1200.00 to have it repaired recently. Then had to go back 5 more times because A/C stops working. Everytime the service department saying they have it fixed now.... Again the other day the A/C stops. My son takes it down there and they tell him it will cost $1700.00 this time to fix A/C. He takes it down the street to an HONEST MECHANIC ( look up honest mechanic in Annapolis and you will find him!). Stay Away. I have been long time Honda Owner and this is my 3rd Honda. I have not experience so much incompetency in my life. I bought my CRV from them at the end of May 2022. It is September 8, 2022 and I still do not have my tags even though I reminded them one week before this second temporary tag was to expire. Now I am unable to drive after today until 4 days from now when I was promised I could pick up my tags. During this process management tried to dodge my calls and was rude when I finally was able to speak with someone. The salesperson I dealt with was a very nice fellow. But his sales manager was very high pressure. Unfortunately I had not bought a car in 7 years, and he took advantage of my not being in practice. He threw numbers at me and insisted I buy the car if he could get there (even if it was a good price I didn't appreciate the pressure). Fortunately for them the car sold itself and I still got it for $2k under MSRP. But chances are I will never go back there. Some takeaways: 1. Do your research. Look around at other dealers' inventories - get their prices. Look on truecar.com and cargurus.com to get an idea of what prices you can expect to pay. (If you can wait, wait until end of MY/Black Friday sales.) Then find out what tax, tags, and freight would be. THAT is what you should expect to pay/finance. 2. You are always free to walk away. Absolutely look around multiple dealers. These clowns insisted on tacking $895 a dealer-provided package (mud flaps, pinstriping, etc) - they eventually charged me $1 for it just so they can bring the car sale price back to what they wanted. Total pressure selling bs. 3. Use a pen and pad. Write down the itemized list and final prices for what they are offering. Human beings' memories are fungible and they've had practice at being fast and furious, throwing numbers at unsuspecting buyers. This way you make sure they can't pull a fast one. 4. Go during the day if possible. You'd be working with a fresh mind, thinking clearly. 5. Bring a person or two if possible. Even if they don't participate in the negotiations, they will be more objective in their perspective and honest in their assessment. read more

I'm going to share facts just to educate potential customers: my husband reached out about a specific car, trim and color. We worked with Andrea Haskins who confirmed they had the car on the lot as of yesterday morning and emailed us an out the door written offer plus 3 years oil, filter, and wash. He responded that we would be by today to purchase. He called this morning to confirm they had it again (mainly because we live 3 hours away, which she knew) and double check the VIN and mileage. She confirmed they did and would have to get back to us around 11 this morning with those numbers when she spoke with the manager. They agreed to us coming between 3-4 to purchase. At 1:00 we called while on the road because we still hadn't heard anything back and Andrea put us on hold for 20 minutes to get her manager. Eventually we connected with him and he proceeded to tell us the car was not on the lot, wouldn't be available for another few weeks, and took absolutely no ownership of how his sales member handled this. He proceeded to talk at my husband when he asked why Andrea said it was in fact on the lot and would even allow us to come down to purchase it. The manager became defensive that his employee 1) didn't lie and 2) Absolutely knows how to work the system. oh - I'm sure they'll respond to this, but there is really no response. You mess up a large sale to this extent, and don't even have the audacity to own it and try to save the sale, that says way more about your practices and training than any response. We obviously will be buying the car down the road at another dealership, and I highly recommend you do too! read more

Open to good deals. Good staff, you can't go wrong with Hondas. And this dealer has a lot of vehicles on the shop. Test drive and negotiate using KBB value, you might get a good deal. Stay away from extended warranties, usually Hondas don't need that. I would recommend purchasing a vehicle from here. read more

They are extremely pushy at trying to sell extended warranties and do not take "No" for an answer. Additionally, good luck speaking to someone when you call if it is not directly related to sales. Scheduling a service appointment by phone is impossible. Also, they are supposed to wash your car after a service appointment. I signed the service agreement which stated that a wash was included. Guess who's car was not washed when picked up... mine. The excuse is that the wash is "broke." The service representative said that it has been broken for "a while." I've recently been looking for a new vehicle and, after doing some research, narrowed it down to a few choices one of which being a Honda. I live about 10 minutes away from the dealership so I emailed to schedule an appointment for a test drive. Brenda Bivins corresponded with me and we scheduled an appointment for the next day, she sent me a follow up email with the name of the sales rep that would be helping me. I came in for my appointment about 10 minutes early and checked in at the front desk, there were three girls sitting there and one of them told me they'd page the sales rep that was going to help me. I was one of 3 customers in the show room. 25 minutes later and still, nobody has come to talk to me so I start to wander around the show room just to look around. Someone sees me wandering and asks who my appointment is with, turned out that the sales rep was busy with another customer (no big deal) but he said he'd get someone else to help me. That's fine by me! I was just wondering why one of the girls at the desk couldn't at least tell me that my initial sales rep was busy? Especially since they were just standing around chatting while I was sitting there waiting. Next was a shining glimmer of hope, I met my new sales rep (Yoseph? Joseph? 2 stars just for you, man. You rock!). He showed me the car I wanted to see, took me on a test drive, and answered all my questions. He was great! I didn't do any paperwork or anything because I still had one more car to look at for comparison. So, I get home and was considering the visit an all around success until I get a call from Brenda again, about an hour after leaving the dealership. She says to me "Hello Gigi, were you not planning on keeping your appointment today?"....rude... After explaining that I did keep my appointment, she says "Well did you not like the car?" I, for the life of me, can't even begin to understand why a sales person that's trying to get me to make a $30,000+ purchase would question me with such an attitude. First of all, as mentioned above, I did make my appointment but even if I didn't, maybe you could try being less rude. Also, I am under no obligation to tell you if I like a car, I had fully intended on coming back if I did like the vehicle. Better yet, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Be sure to do your due diligence when purchasing a vehicle from this dealership. Originally, I was fooled by the smoke and mirrors that came with the smiles and light banter. Now I know I was being hoodwinked. First off, the car I purchased was overpriced by $3,000. It sounded like a good deal, given the mileage, options and comments that came from a few bystanders in the dealership. The dealer even told me there was another family present who was considering purchasing the car. Now, in hindsight, I am pretty definite this was al a part of the master plan. In the apparent haste to sign on the dotted line I was bamboozled into purchasing the DARCARS Assururance to the tune of $1995. It's full of BS which is full of a bunch of crap that most car owners won't use. When I went into finance I was so impressed with the apparent efficiency and smoothness of the transaction that I didn't realize that the banana had been slipped in my tailpipe in there too. Here I was thinking my time was being respected, but all the while, I was signing away my life. Never really had an issue with this Honda dealership since my car is fairly new. I bought a NEW 2019 HRV last February. I like that they give free car washes (I have a white vehicle) BUT what happened to me today makes NO SENSE. I scheduled an oil change and transmission fluid appointment and 30 min later I'm told that my car battery failed. HOW?!! I have a brand new car! Make it make sense! I was told not to worry because my car in still under the 3 year warranty so they will replace it. LOL. This is not normal. But they said that it isn't uncommon . I don't know this experience has rubbed me the wrong way I'm not going to lie. I feel as though a mechanic really messed up during the appointment and to cover their tracks they say my battery failed. I'm going to be looking for another dealership. everytime I come in for a oil change it ends up taking 3-4 hours. Not only that but their customer service sucks !!! Their never at the table for you to reach them. They never answer the phone so if you wanted an appointment they don't answer so it's like you have to come in for walk in's and they make you wait this excessive time just for an oil change. I called his Honda Of Bowie earlier today and spoke to an ass hole in the service department and I explained to the man that I just replaced my battery and needed a service code or an era code in order to listen to my radio and play music. I was told that I had to come all the way in to the dealership for this to be done in order to get the code and it takes two minutes out of my day to make a long pointless trip. Instead of him just giving me the code for my car or telling me where it was located. I brought my car from this Honda I'm sure he could have just looked me up. I asked him where could I find the code and was it located in my car? I was told that I could not access or find this code anywhere and that I needed to come in! With out the help or assistance from Honda or having to drive 45 minutes out my way to wait in a long line, I was able to access what I needed and get my music back! I had a great first experience here trading in my Ford Explorer for a brand new Honda Pilot, so much so that my fiancé wanted to trade in his truck to downsize to a Civic Si. Our truck still has temp tags as we just moved from California to Maryland on military orders. We went in today to put down the second half of the down payment for my Pilot so we also decided to look around which is when we saw the Civic. While sitting at the desk with the sales consultant I received a text saying "Help, please call me" with a picture of a business card from the general manager, Payam . I didn't know how to react to that since I found it weird so I had my husband call the number and the general manager was stating we had not paid the remainder and to provide the receipt. When my husband walked over to provide the proof, the GM stated we still owed $62 making a total down payment $5,062 which was NOT in the contract which he tried to breach. Following that, apparently we don't have the title for our truck we are trying to trade in even though our names are on it and we got it sent to us directly from the bank we finance through. The lead for the titling department even spoke with the staff who clearly didn't want to sell the vehicle to us and just wasted 4 hours of our time even after running credit. Will not be returning and I hope people see this as I'm no longer telling people to come here. read more

Believe the other cautionary reviews and STAY AWAY. We recently bought a used vehicle here and have vowed never to return. Sales tactics are high-pressure and dishonest, and the car racked up $1,500 in repair bills in the first two months of ownership. We have learned our lesson - we are buying only new or certified used vehicles with a warranty from now on, and we are not dealing with Honda of Bowie. They are a waste of time and waste of money. You never deal with the same salesperson from start to finish - it's always someone new so you have to continually re-explain yourself. It gets annoying. Furthermore, after the sale is made, good luck trying to get satisfaction if you experience any issues with the car! They've made their money and they couldn't care less if you are happy. I suspect they rely on volume of sales rather than customer loyalty to stay in business. The issues with our vehicle started when a front headlight went out literally as I drove the car out of the parking lot after purchase. We had to drive back to the dealership, and as it was a Friday night, so they told me to come back on Saturday and they would replace the part. I returned Saturday and was told the part hadn't arrived, so I needed to make another appointment. I wasted a good part of my day, and the car wasn't fixed. On the second visit, they did replace the headlight, and (thankfully) did not charge for the parts or labor. However, two weeks afterwards the "check engine" light was on and after taking it to a mechanic, we learned there was a vacuum hose leak and oxygen sensor malfunction. We paid over $800 for those repairs. A couple weeks after that, the car wouldn't accelerate and the check engine light was back on. Mechanic said that all of the spark plugs needed to be replaced ($525) and that the engine air filter and fuel filters also needed to be replaced. Additional stress came from the fact that I bought the car to commute to a job in DC, and it became undrivable my second week on the job. Talk about stress! I had no working car and no way to get to or from a major event my employer was hosting downtown. I ended up having to get a hotel room because the car was being repaired and public transit wasn't an option (nor was renting a car.) So, there were extra expenses on top of the already steep repair bills. Talk about money pit. Save yourself some stress and shop elsewhere. We've had decent experiences at the Toyota dealership in Bowie (bought a Prius there in March 2012) and also recently checked out Honda of Annapolis, which was also positive. read more

We were lied to multiple times throughout the process of purchasing our car. The dealership allowed our temporary tags to expire twice because they simply hadn't sent our paperwork to the dmv. Three months and endless phone calls after purchasing our car, we finally got our tags, without the additional registration and residential parking permits that we submit paperwork for. Throughout the process, staff at Darcars Bowie acted as though we were being a pain when we were simply trying to figure out where our paperwork was, and why they weren't prepared to meet expiration dates. They insisted that it was "totally fine" to drive around on expired dealer tags. This dealership is a headache to deal with, highly Recommend that you take your business elsewhere. read more

Service Advisor Mike Guard provides great customer service. Early in December a problem arose during a visit to the dealership. The Service Manager was not available and no one else I spoke to in the Service Department was willing to address the issue. As I was leaving Service Advisor Mike Guard approached me and was very understanding of my concerns and considerable distress and came up with a solution to the problem. Mike immediately arranged to have the issue resolve the very next day. I would like to comment Mike Guard for his outstanding customer service and total professionalism. read more

YET ANOTHER SHITTY RATING from this poorly run pathetic excuse for a car dealership. Back in June 2020 I purchased a car from there.. was just told to put my tags from the car I traded in on my new car and they would send me new tags. It has now been NINE MONTHS.. still no new tags.. and now I'm driving around on expired tags. This dealership is a JOKE. Oh and also.. when I purchased my car I was charged an addition $1000 to get free oil changed for 5 years.. was FINALLY able to get an oil change after NINE MONTHS.. and it's not even in the computer that I get free oil changes for 5 years.. so when do I get the refund of the $1000 I paid?? This place is a complete JOKE. Just shut down because you all obviously have no idea what you're doing. read more
