This review has more to do with the area than the gas station. I feel safe getting gas at night at this gas station. There are not many gas stations in Prince George's County that I would feel safe patronizing at night. This gas station is clean, and well lit. The prices are in keeping with the area. read more

Carl is a good fella very friendly and knowledgeable. I Brought my truck here to have state inspection done. They found a few repairs that needed to be done. I am sceptical of most mechanics, so I checked out the things they pointed out and sure enough they needed repaired. I repaired half of them myself to save money on labor and parts. They have some high prices on their parts, but they are honest and they did good work on the things that were beyond my ability/ I lacked the equipment to perform. 10/10 I will bring my vehicles back to Shell in the future if repairs are needed that are beyond my own abilities read more

All the positive reviews of this Bowie Shell Repair Shop turned out to be true. (Make sure you specify the Superior lane Shell.) Carl is very responsive and down to earth. After our 13-year old van went kaput after an attempted jump start with crossed wires, A Plus Towing (Ollie) brought it to Bowie Shell on 450 and Superior Lane. Carl called when it arrived. Although he is very busy, he diagnosed the problem, called me with the estimate, ordered the new starter, installed it, and ran tests; all very quickly. Fixed for less than the estimate. Well this place definitely will not be my go too. They lucky yo to get a star at all. I went into the shop at 7:45am just to deflate my air out of my tire due my car had too much air in the tires. The front end customer service guy seem unwilling to help me. I told him the problem he want to go into dynamics of how my Onstar doesn't know what there talking about. He seem argumentative and not a great help at all. All I wanted was to check my tire pressure and he seem unconcerned to help me. It was no cars no customer at the location. He seem not pleasant and he want me to wait 10mins just to let air out of my tire. He seem uncouth so I left and went to Mr Tire instead. No a happy customers read more

Carl is a great guy, friendly and very helpfu. mechanics at the shell are very good and have kept my 2001 Dodge Durango running! They always call to advise me of repairs needed with an estimate and time it will take. when they called to tell me it's ready they always explain exactly what has been done and why. I've been scammed before by other mechanics (I'm a female) even had one sat they changed the oil and my son just happened to stop by that evening and said it was not changed. A Woman has to be careful when she takes a car into a mechanic. I would highly recommend the shell station. read more

Like every other Shell, the gas is usually about 7 cents more expensive than the gas station less than a mile away. I went and picked up a propane tank, it was $4 more expensive than the Walgreens 1/4 mile away, that was sold out. Cant speak to any of their mechanical services.... read more

Came here for a quick last min state inspection. The person in charge, Carl, is extremely nice, informative, friendly, and professional. So I decided to come here because he made me feel so darn welcomed over the phone! I was in and out in maybe 30 minutes tops. I definitely recommend. While I truly miss the days of spending barely to nothing for a state inspection, this was literally the cheapest I could find. read more

Terrible service...this place advertises as mechanics but they are far from that skill....I was charged $200 and no work was completed...How can you call yourself a mechanic but can't remove the old axel to replace and put on a new one. Not to mention wanted to charge me 750$ for an additional part and no guarantees it would work. Well I found a real mechanic that got the axel off and replaced in four hours time frame. They did the repairs for the quoted price, and completed them on time. Had vehicle towed to his shop on a Friday with a failed clutch. Got an estimate for over $1800.00 for a clutch replacement, including a $500 flywheel replacement ($??) for a car with 90K miles because he "wanted to be safe and on the high side." Charged me over $40.00 to WRITE THE ESTIMATE WITH OUT EVEN LOOKING AT THE CAR. No-one writes a high estimate and then gives you a low final bill. I would avoid at all cost. He inflated the bill and expected me to roll over and eat an estimate that was $400 over high average for this type of repair in this region. I DO NOT RECOMMEND! read more

I called to ask how much it is to repair a tire. I was told a plug was $15. The actual plugging was smooth, but when I went to pay I was told it was $22. I asked why, when I was told it was $15. The woman said that the rate increased from $16 to $17 recently (still not the $15 I was quoted) and it is $5 to put the tire back on the car. At $22 their price is still cheaper than many of their competitors but it would be nice to be told the actual price when I called. read more
