Has more than just the ice cream. There's also burgers, pretzels, and more. A pretty good location in a mostly quiet area. It's on Kilburn Avenue close to Searls Park. This makes for a nice stop after walking around or whatever. Has about what to expect from an ice cream place. It's about $2.25 for a slushie. Also there's some hot food. It's about $2.95 for a pretzel. Pretty basic stuff. It's not great or anything. They're known for the soft serve, so if getting ice cream get that. Has seasonal hours. At 830 Saturday I stopped by for a Carmel cashew sundae, crunch cone and strawberry sundae w/jimmies and a cherry on top for my 3 year old granddaughter. The 16 (?) year old questioned me about something on te order, to which I responded, "Yed, sir." He scooped my ice cream into a bowl, poured Carmel on it and proceeded to scoop 2 bare handfuls of cashews on top. I told him politely it probably had nothing to do with him, but was surprised he hadn't been trained to use a scoop for the cashews. This fell on deaf ears as he walked away without a response. He then proceeded to make my granddaughters sundae, continuing by scooping the jimmied out of the container with bare/ungloved hand, along with the cherry for a topping. I told him if I return and see the same procedures unchanged I will call the health department and report this. Ah, memories! Places like Dari Fair bring back those memories of so long ago, in simpler times when places like this were the rule, not the exception. This place is north and west of the Burpee Museum, where we had just attended a free (YES FREE) concert by the Cash Box Kings which was quite well attended. I like to look for a dessert after the show, and we hadn't been to this place so I decided to take a short ride (around 6 minutes) north and west. Looking at the place, it's a classic early 60's / 70's mom and pop soft serve place. It's now equipped with better soft serve equipment, but the outside is just pure original fun. We looked at the options - I ordered their Strawberry Cheesecake Sundae, and my wife had their Small Mint Chocolate Chip sundae. Keep in mind, their small is a LARGE most places. Their Large is GIANT. I could see and taste the real strawberries in my sundae, as well as chunks of cheesecake material (graham cracker bits) on the vanilla soft serve, which was scrumptious. My wife said similar things about her mint chocolate chip sundae - it was a topping laid over the vanilla ice cream. Will we be back? Bet on it - this place is great! They have two windows in the front - one is ice cream only, the other is ice cream and everything else. Pay with cash, or pay the $2 convenience fee for using a credit card. Although time between orders took some time, I absolutely love this place. It's so cute and cozy looking. A hidden gem for rockford. The prices are standard ranging from 4-7 for most items. The ice cream is absolutely delicious and creamy. I will definitely be coming here probably weekly until summer is done. Would definitely recommend :) read more

I've been visiting Dari Fair since 1995, always a great experience! We are lucky to still have Dari Fair in our community.

Food was good but don't come here when it's busy it took me 20 mins after I ordered to get my food and it was also melted. Save yourself time and go to a different establishment. The quality of the restaurant is very subpar as well. The atmosphere wasn't very pleasing as well. read more

Dang good ice-cream. I love soft serve and always have at dari fair they give you so much. it's really nice and rich which very creamy which is a absolute must for soft serve. Great about of parking. Still my favorite ice cream place in the area after all these years. The prices are spot on for delicious ice cream. I usually go sprinkle cone, chocolate dipped cone, or butterscotch sundaes.. But sometimes I splurge with the calories and get a peanut butter cup cooler. You definitely get a good amount of ice cream on those cones so go check it out- definitely Well Worth the wait in line that's usually there on hot days. read more

The DariFair did a great job this year making sure everyone was safe and guests were social distancing. The food was fantastic and I pretended I ate zero calories that day. All I wish was a better line or light system that showed when someone was ready to take an order. People kept cutting in line to get first. read more

I have literally been going to Dari Fair my whole life, buy in the last few years the ice cream has changed. The food isn't consistent, and the ice cream just isn't good any more. I wish they would go back to the way they used to do things. :-( read more
