Avoid at All Costs. Worst Agent I've Had in 15+ Years with State Farm I switched to Darin's office based on the positive reviews, but that was a huge mistake. This was easily the most frustrating and unprofessional experience I've ever had with State Farm, and I've been a loyal customer for over 15 years. Here's what went wrong: Darin doesn't bother replying to emails. Even when the email is clearly addressed to him and involves issues that require his attention, someone else from the office responds instead. Requests to update or add items to my policy were completely ignored. I followed up multiple times and still received no action or confirmation. When I finally emailed Darin directly to complain, he didn't respond. Instead, someone else called me. No accountability, no ownership. Over the course of just 4 to 5 months, I was handed off between two different reps. The office is chaotic, slow to respond, and doesn't seem to care about customer service at all. I've since moved to a new agent who replied the same day and resolved every issue within an hour. At Darin's office, it took over a week just to get a basic response. Avoid this agent. My family and I have been clients of Darin's for years. Up until this weekend it has been a great experience. Darin himself is great. State Farm and one of the people that works for Darin, her name is Izzy, are not. Allow me to explain. Originally it was just my wife and I on an auto policy. We added our son Anthony about a year and a half ago. This year our son has had a speeding ticket and two claims within the last 6 months. 1 claim was for him accidentally scraping his door on a gas station pylon. The other claim was a minor (less than $500 payout) fender bender. Well they wanted to drop Anthony from the policy and we don't have a problem with this at all. He messed up and deserves the consequences. However, we were told by Izzy multiple times that these claims would only affect Anthony and not us. We found out this weekend that this was a lie. Fast forward to now. Anthony's coverage drops in 3 days on a Tuesday. That's fine because he already has another policy lined up. However. As I'm leaving the doctors office with my wife on Friday morning after surgery we get a voicemail from Darin's office. It's Izzy explaining to us that she just got off the phone with underwriting and they've decided we can only keep our policy if we keep Anthony on it with a $400 increase monthly in premiums. Otherwise they are now dropping all of us. Obviously we didn't say yes as that increase is ludicrous considering my wife and I have never filed a claim with State Farm. During the call Izzy kept deflecting the blame to underwriting and not taking any accountability for her bad council. We are now left with 3 days to find a new auto policy on our financed vehicles. State Farm just charged us our monthly premium less than a week ago and now I need to make a new upfront payment on a new policy. We found out shopping for insurance that Anthony's claims do show up on our history and count against us. This raised our rates almost 100%. I fully hold Izzy accountable for the hundreds of dollars, time, and stress of this whole fiasco all because of her feeding us bad council. I will be moving every policy I have from State Farm to a different company, not just our Auto. This experience really put us out and left a bad taste in my mouth. I will never recommend State Farm or this office to anyone. read more

I wish all businesses were run like this. My wife and I recently bought our first home in the Downtown Plano area and were in the market for a new insurance agent. I made some calls to get some quotes. Darin was prompt in returning my call and inviting us both to his office; even asking how we liked our coffee. When we showed up we were promptly welcomed and handed our favorite coffees! So thoughtful! Before jumping into our insurance needs we just sat and talked; where we grew up, our careers, our hobbies and our goals. It was an easy segue into our insurance needs. Darin went over our current coverage and made suggestions regarding our first home purchase. He broke down the policy and all of the insurance jargon bit by bit in a way that we could easily understand. Darin went the extra mile in making us feel at ease and empowering us to make the right decision for us. His suggestions were spot-on and insightful; things I feel like we should have known. Who knew that a home security system can pay for itself with the insurance discount!? Win-win! A week after we had decided to go with Darin and State Farm, he called to tell us he found multiple discounts that could be applied to our policy. We were willing to pay extra for this kind of service but now we're saving money too! Darin is very knowledgeable, extremely personable and passionate about helping his customers meet their needs. My wife and I could not be happier with our choice. We have total confidence that we are properly covered without getting ripped off and that Darin and his team will be there to meet our needs for many years to come. I cannot recommend Darin McCullough and his team enough. read more

Just wanted to give a huge thank you to the best insurance agent in the game Darin McCullough. Some moron hit my car last night and took off. Darin was the first person I called. It was late and he still picked up. Walked me through what to do and first thing his morning my claim is already getting processed. He took care of everything and got me in touch with the right people as well as helping me get a rental car. If you're having any issues with your current insurance provider I highly recommend Darin. His customer service is second to none. I have 99 problems but my insurance agent ain't one! Now my baby Gisele unfortunately has to go in the shop.
