We have been in State Farm since 1980. We have needed them occasionally, but they had never been there for us. We have unloaded hundred thousands of dollars in premiums for this company. Yeah when I needed them for water damage, I mean the water content every time it rains and just soaks everything they wiggled out of paying for anything. This company is a scam. Do not put money into this company. Our usual agent has always been Kim Wolf. That you don't go through your agent in order to talk with State Farm you have to go through Home office so I don't really know why they give you an agent to give me a random agent. State Farm as a company has become Goliath and I'm David. After being insured with them over 20 years I had to cut them off. They take forever to do simple things such as adding a vehicle to the policy, if you're not careful they mess up on coverage and if asleep at the wheel and don't follow up or look at the binder, it will be your fault. Lastly they do questionable things such as setting up entire new policies when you only requested to add a vehicle to your existing policy. This makes it seem as if they've added an entire new policy aka "new business" when in reality they only added a vehicle. I'm sure this is a numbers game that makes them appear as if they're growing in policies rather than growing by adding a vehicle to a policy which is still growth but a different type of growth. Never use State Farm. They dropped my coverage because I had 3 claims in one year, 2 of which were EXTREMELY minor. One of them was because a rock hit my windshield when someone passed me on the highway and it cost them less than $200 to repair. Due to a wreck I was in that caused moderate damage (but airbags did not deploy and no one was hurt), I was expecting rates to go up, but they just dropped me altogether. I have only been in this one wreck after over 10 years of driving. I could have just paid for the minor claims, such as the windshield repair, our of pocket if I knew they would do me like this, but my parents said if through insurance if is $0 deductible and the company wants to repair it so they don't have to replace windshield later. I don't fault my parents. Insurance companies have never been your friend, but back when my parents were young the companies had some shred of dignity. Switched to Texas Farm Bureau and full coverage was $50 cheaper per month with the wreck on my record than it was with State Farm BEFORE the wreck. read more

I can't stress this enough, if you have State Farm insure anything that you own you need to look elsewhere for coverage. My car has been in the Shop since May for hail damage repair. State Farm is still dragging out paying for the damages, they take over a month to pay out for each part of the claim. The body shop has told us that State Farm is doing this on every vehicle they have have in for repairs and they are being told numerous other body shops are receiving the same treatment. We only had a rental car for thirty days due to that being the maximum amount of time they pay out for one. Needless to say State Farm will no longer be my insurance company as soon as I get my car back. read more

State Farm is horrible! A car crashed into my house! State farm insured this driver. It took 23 days to process the claim even with photos a police report and a written estimate. After all that time, State Farm approved the claim and sent the electronic payment to the wrong email address! Now they have canceled the payment and refuse to resend without a supervisor approving it for a 2nd time!! This makes no sense!! Just resend the email! How horrible and incompetent can they be? I cannot even begin to believe this. They don't even respond to Better Business Bureau complaints! Maybe they'll respond to this? read more

Do not insure with State Farm. They do a lot of work to deny obvious claims that they should definitely pay. I am a State Farm insured myself and was hit by another driver with State Farm. I am also a former injury adjuster so I know the claims process well. State Farm is now a substandard non-reputable company. My assigned adjuster was non-responsive and incompetent and her manager upheld her unethical decisions and practices. State Farm needs a major class-action lawsuit to make them do the right thing. All they care about is saving money to pay for their high-profile athlete commercials. The at-fault driver made an illegal left turn in front of my vehicle from a straight only lane in the middle of an intersection. My vehicle was in the straight/left turn lane and her vehicle was to my right in a straight only lane. When the light turned green I proceeded to go straight because I had that right given my lane was a straight or left turn lane. The other driver thought she was in the left turn lane which makes sense because she was 70 years old and said she was talking to her granddaughter in the backseat while driving. When she suddenly made the left turn in front of my vehicle from a straight only lane I immediately slammed on my brakes and laid on my horn in attempt to prevent the accident. However, my front passenger side bumper/fender made contact with her driver's side back quarter panel area. After the collision the lady fled the scene into a different city. She finally pulled into a store's parking lot and stopped to let her granddaughter out so that she could leave with who I believe was the mother accompanied by a sister or friend. I told the at-fault driver that we were in accident back at the intersection and she tells me that she didn't feel the impact or hear me blowing my horn even while following her into a different city. She also let the only witness--her granddaughter in the backseat leave before police arrived which was strange/misleading. My State Farm adjuster denied my claim before she even acquired the police report. She stated that I'm 51% at-fault for an unsafe lane change and because the insured is saying that she was in the left turn lane. How could we both be in the left turn lane given the location of the damages and even if I was in the left turn only lane to her left then that means I would have been staring right into a traffic light across from me for a couple minutes while sitting at the red light and headed straight for it before the accident. Makes no sense whatsoever because in front of that left turn only lane is the sidewalk and the traffic light. I have no at-fault claims on my record and have been driving for many years; I think I know how to not drive straight into a traffic light and sidewalk from a left turn only lane(however that's what I would have had to be doing for this lady's new story to be rationale in the slightest). The other driver told police immediately after the accident that she didn't know what lane she was in but she thought she was in the left turn lane so that's exactly how the police officer wrote his report. The police report shows that she was at-fault. Of course she thought she was in the proper left turn lane--that's why accidents happen because people make mistakes while thinking that they are doing the correct driving action. Anyway, the adjuster then tells me that she will review her liability decision when the police report comes in. I pay for the report myself and send it to State Farm. The weekend passes and the adjuster is now saying that the police report isn't sufficient evidence because it's the officer's opinion so she has to affirm her denial for all of my damages. No, the truth is the police report doesn't suffice now because it corroborates that I'm not at-fault and you guys simply don't want to pay. read more
