I was looking online for a multitool that was difficult to find since it was discontinued by the…read moremanufacturer some time ago. I was happy to see the Bartons site showed two in stock. I've never shopped with Bartons before, but they looked to be a reputable business with a large physical store in Alberta, so I went ahead with the order. The transaction was successful, and I was relieved that my search was over. The next day, I received an email from their e-commerce department. Apparently the online inventory was incorrect, and the multitool was actually sold out. I was quite disheartened since the model was probably unobtainable at that point. Bartons had been my last hope. However, instead of immediately crediting back my payment as is usually the case, they offered to send a different model from the same manufacturer, one that was a significant upgrade from my original purchase, both in terms of functionality and price. I told them in my reply that it was very nice of them to offer, but they didn't have to do this since the price of the upgraded model was almost double that of the one I had purchased, and it wouldn't be fair. A refund would be fine. I didn't get a response, but later that week I received a package in the mail, which contained the higher model. I couldn't believe a company would do a swap of that value for the sake of customer satisfaction... it's unheard of in this day & age. It was my first purchase from them and definitely won't be my last. Thank you, Bartons... I will always remember this!

The manager on duty said this is a special situation, and if we could wait until they had the cash available in the till, they would reimburse us what he paid, to give to his wife, and kids. This is a family owned store that takes care of families. Thanks guys.
