I live in canada and was told I'd find better prices getting my car tinted in the states. Not knowing what businesses were in the seattle area I googled tint shops and darkside showed up with a great rating and reviews which I read here on yelp. I sent an email to Carlos about 3 weeks ago asking for some information and giving him an idea of what I was wanting to do. He was great at emailing back and patiently answering all of my questions. While I was doing that, I was also looking around vancouver. Price wise I had found some better deals but the people I called and spoke with weren't very knowledgeable or helpful. There also wete no reviews on any of these shops. I decided to go with my gut and have Carlos do my car. I brought in my BRAND NEW Ford Fusion to him and he did an absolutely gorgeous and professional job on my car. I couldn't be happier. It looks great. Every shop I called said that with the side windows, they could only take the tint to within a quarter inch of the windows because of the window seals but Carlos did a beautiful job going right to the edge of the windows. I opted for the Madico Wincos film and I think it looks great and I already notice a heat reduction inside the vehicle. I'm glad I followed my gut which was influenced by all of the positive reviews. I wanted to give my two cents as well. I will reccommend Carlos to all my friends as its a great trip down to the seattle area for a weekend and to get their cars tinted. read more

I checked out reviews on businesses that would do a quality job on my 2014 Prius. I wasn't concerned about the distance I'd have to travel to get it done. Just do a top notch job. I read the reviews on Carlos and Darkside and decided to go with it. I wasn't disappointed at all. The car looks great!! Carlos was waiting for me to get to the appointment, and promptly got it going. He took great time to explain my choices, and how he would guarantee the work. 3 hours later, I rolled out with a nice set tinted windows! Looks awesome! (even for a nice subdued hybrid!! I am totally thrilled by the way it turned out.) I'm certainly going to refer as may people as I can to this business, and i'd have no second thoughts on bringing my next vehicle here! read more

They did a great job and it was very fast. Just make sure you are actually talking to Carlos in the morning, haha. I had to drop my car off before 9am (before they open) and I spoke to the guy that was opening up the shop. We talked about how dark to go on the tint for my 2012 Subaru impreza hatchback and then I told him the price I had been told, if it was ok to write a check (which was under $300, a great deal). He sort of looked at me and said, "Checks are ok, but cash would be better", but I only had checks. I gave it to him and my spare key and said I'd be back tonight after I was done at work. As my friend was driving me to work, I get a call from Carlos and he says my check isn't enough, I forgot tax. I told him I wrote it for what the guy at the shop told me to, haha. So when I went to pick up my car that night, I had to drop another check in the mailbox. I love my car, the tint is great. Dark Side is a great business...but the ONLY thing is that it's been almost a month and my checks have never gone through. Maybe I should call them... read more

100% satisfied. I searched around for window tinting and clear coat film for my 2011 Suburban. There are a lot of sketchy outfits out there. I found Carlos and Darkside through Yelp and decided to give him a shot. What a great guy! Super personable, honest, straight forward, and speaks english! Sole proprietor who's been in business for 10 years. Very cordial on the phone and very specific as his services, capabilities and cost. Told me it was going to be an all day job so I planned accordingly vs. someone telling me it was going to take 4 hours and it actually takes 6+. Good thing was there is a Starbucks about 1/4 mile away so I just set up shop there at the end of the day until it was done. Easy to find with easy access on Lake City. I will take all my cars to him for tinting, etc. I also highly recommend the 3M clear bra for the front of your car especially if it's new. You can't even tell it's there and it protects your ride from any rock chips, etc. forever. He's a great guy! Definitely give him your business. read more

Like others, went with Darkside because of the glowing Yelp reviews. Had my front windows matched (30%) to my back windows, and darkened the tint on my moonroof. The car looks excellent and I can really feel the difference it's made, temperature wise, driving around on these warmer Seattle days. Carlos is a nice man and had the job done in 1.5 hours. Carlos really does amazing work and truly puts pride in every vehicle he does and it shows. I found Darkside by looking up reviews from tinters all over Snohomish and King County after having a shop in Everett do the worst job I have ever seen. My drivers window wouldn't even roll down without sucking in the inside seal with it and the lines were terrible with a lot of flaws on every window. I was still hesitant due to my previous experience but after meeting Carlos and him explaining how he does his work as well as showing me a car he just finished I felt a lot more confident.
