So picture this - it's my girlfriend's birthday and I've got a week to figure out something to get her. I really want to treat her because she's literally the best thing that's ever happened to me, but I want it to be something that's meaningful and she can use. A tangible item or items that isn't stereotypical. We live in the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood, and it dawns on me she mentioned this place called Darlin' down the road from our apartment. ~Enter Katy~ I call up at the store and speak with the nicest person ever (obviously Katy the store owner). She lines me up for a surprise shopping spree for my gal before business hours on Sunday, and as a male, totally turns around my "uncomfortable-ness" for shopping for women's underwear, even if it is for my partner. At this point, I'm just excited. Flash forward a week in the future, and Katy is walking us through the store, professionally fitting my girl, providing all kinds of unique pieces, and creating an intimate (and completely noninvasive) shopping experience that I've frankly never had in a retail store. Keep in mind, it's literally just us three because Katy booked us early on a Sunday. Once it's all said and done, my gal settled on a few work bras, a few lingerie pieces, and a few lounge pieces. We dropped a pretty good chunk of change, but this is literally the definition of "you get what you pay for". And further, we NEVER felt pressured to purchase anything. You could just genuinely tell Katy enjoyed providing this experience for us. If we bought 1 item, that's great. If we bought 10 items, that's still great. If you're still reading this, you can probably guess where we landed on that scale. If you leave this place less than 5-Stars you have no taste, and Katy is one of the sweetest humans alive. Cute lingerie boutique with A LOT of selection. The boutique itself is in like a warehouse with other stores, restaurants, and offices, it's pretty.... Vintage looking and a wide floor plan. I found them on Instagram, they aren't very responsive on Instagram but I still made it to the store while on vacation from AZ. The owner helping me was helpful and eventually made me feel comfortable. The initial vibe is kind of snooty. I purchased three beautiful sets. They are on the pricey side of lingerie but beautiful pieces. I love the fact they have ALL sizes. She mentioned she hasn't had a customer that has not fit her lingerie items. That makes me happy. They took all of my pertinent information and I asked them to notify me when they received more of the same product but different colors.. I had the most INCREDIBLE experience at Darlin'!! My bridesmaids and I were in town for my bachelorette party and I had mentioned that I wanted some nice lingerie for a boudoir photoshoot I'm planning to do for my future husband to give as a gift at our wedding.
