Dr. Darling surgically removed my 17 year old's wisdom teeth. Dr. Darling and staff are excellent. I can't sing their praises enough.

The one we are seeing now, Dr. Michael Ruen, has our trust. All dental work that he did was of high quality. If there was a possibility to review him separately, I will give him five (5) stars. The following review is related to ForwardDental payment policies and customer treatment, mostly by their manager. Since recent, after the ownership changed, Forward Dental started overcharging patients for every service. Without my knowledge, those overcharges accumulated to over $400 during 2024. I managed to get the reimbursement after hours spent in calls and unplanned visits (as others stated, they don't answer calls or it is impossible to do anything over the phone). Despite the significant sum of overcharged money that they kept for some time and finally reimbursed, by the end of the last year, ForwardDental sent me a request for an additional payment. They sent me a "proof" in a form of the printout of services and payments from June to December 2024, conveniently (for them) excluding the payment of $252 that was paid out of pocket on the day of service. I emailed them copies of all payments and requested a new statement confirming that I don't owe them anything. As a matter of fact, I went through all financial transactions with them, through their charges and payments by my insurance or myself, and the final result was that instead of me owing them, actually they owe me $7.92. Three weeks after that email, they still didn't find necessary to address the client's request and send me an answer to my inquiry. It is not comforting to see that other clients had similar problems with unresponsiveness of Forward Dental manager, Kiana Werner. At our first encounter, she gave me her card and told me to send her email whenever I have any problem. I did it two times - once for refund, and now, for false overcharge. She never responded. This is very unprofessional and disrespectful. Because of overcharges, unresponsiveness and disrespectful treatment of customers by their manager, I can't recommend this practice.

Then when asked if we could prove there was an error after the fact if we could get a refund, she rudely said "we could talk about." She ultimately ended up making my wife reschedule for TWO WEEKS later. I called to complain and talked to a different woman who was very understanding, professional, and patient. (despite my frustration) She correctly identified my insurance, walked me through what I should have been asked to pay, and rescheduled my wife for two days later. This first woman, who again, turned away my wife who was in pain for her appointment despite her having the correct insurance she claimed to have, was completely unreasonable and unprofessional. She extended the pain my wife was having in her tooth and embarrassed her in front of the other people who were in line behind her. If I were you and this lady was the receptionist I would wait until someone else was available and refuse to work with her. She no idea what she is doing and a miserable person to interact with. (This is not the first time shes been uninformed, unhelpful, and rude to us) This woman should have no place interacting with patients in any manner.

Cheryl, my hygienist, and Dr. McDonald and Ashley have been the most amazing team over the last year, in particular as I cracked two teeth as a result of extreme stress. They guided me through a very painful process and made sure my mouth feels and looks perfect at the conclusion of the work. The work performed is of high quality (as are the labs that they use - for crowns, implants, mouth guards). They have stayed on top of technology so imaging is easy, painless and comprehensive, including 3D digital models. They show the utmost care to their patients before, during and after procedures. The staff is friendly but still professional. The work above all else is thorough and exceedingly well executed. My husband has also had good experiences over the years (although he has needed less dental work, thankfully!) but as a family, we are beyond pleased. I couldn't recommend this dentist more highly. There are some cases when work is authorized by insurance at a certain expected amount, but the actual charges are different. I have never had an issue with this, as it's clearly explainable (the procedure had to go a different way, or the insurance covered something at a higher percent). The clinic "banks" any overpayment for us, and we use it for any charges we might accrue going forward. They have offered to reimburse us as well, but with a family that goes to the same dental clinic, keeping the overpayment there simplifies things for my purposes and I appreciate that they are willing to do that. Highly recommend the team at Modern Touch!

I'm honestly still shocked by the way I was treated at this dental office…read more I came in as a new patient for a routine cleaning and checkup. I had no pain, no symptoms, and no dental emergency. Before the dentist entered the room, I politely asked the dental assistant whether it might be possible to focus on the cleaning that day and defer X-rays, due to recent medical imaging and extensive international air travel. It was a calm, normal question -- there was zero tension. When Dr. Dina Kaloti, DDS came in, everything changed. She immediately stated that all new patients must have a full set of X-rays. I explained my situation and offered a compromise: bitewing X-rays now, panoramic X-rays at a later visit. That compromise was rejected outright. During the conversation, she questioned my understanding of radiation and then said -- verbatim -- "Are you a dentist? Did you go to DDS school?" This was said in front of the dental assistant, with the door open and staff just outside. It was demeaning and completely unnecessary. She then told me that my questions were making "her and her staff uncomfortable" and said I would be asked to leave unless I agreed to all X-rays. No staff member ever appeared uncomfortable -- my interactions with them before and after were friendly and normal. Feeling pressured and not wanting to leave without care, I agreed. Ironically, during the panoramic X-ray, the chest shield was placed incorrectly and the X-ray had to be repeated, which was exactly what I had hoped to avoid. After all the X-rays were done, I was then told that because of my questions, my teeth would not be cleaned that day -- the entire reason I had come in. I returned the following day for the cleaning. The hygienist was kind and professional, but it was clear that my private medical questions from the prior visit were known within the office, which raised serious concerns about privacy. I have never been asked to leave a business or medical office in my life. Asking reasonable questions about one's care should not result in humiliation, pressure, or denial of service. I attempted multiple times to speak with the practice owner and never received a response. I would strongly caution anyone who values respectful communication and consent-based care. Also, after waiting for a personal conversation or a call with the owner after five days I have still not received a call. This is another warning to search elsewhere for dental services.

My son who has only had a couple of fillings in 17 years, suddenly incurred 5 cavities since our last dental appointment 6 months ago??? Like a dummy, I went ahead and had the work done on 3 of his teeth. (I was charged $438 for 3 surfaces on cavities that were described as tiny. There was an issue with our insurance coverage, and I later found out they weren't covered. They quoted me around $120 copay which I paid at the time of service. Then several months later, we received a bill for over $1000. They did not even have the decency to mail me a bill. They emailed it to my minor child. What?!?! I called to request someone to review the situation & work with me, since I am a single mother and I cannot afford a dental bill like this. they mis-quoted me and their prices they charge are outrageous. I thought that they would try to work something out, based on the multiple errors made by their staff. No one called me back. I waited 10 days and called again. The woman who answered the phone, lied and told me that someone had already called me back. Nope! they did not. She also told me that they would not consider adjusting my bill at all. Horrible service!! Additionally, at my exam, the dentist had told me that I needed a crown and my co-pay would be over $1000. I had 2 crowns placed in the past two years (at another practice) each co-pay was $500-$600. That gives you an idea of how they will appoint the highest price materials and/or overcharge you. (I was never offered a less expensive type of crown when I balked at the price). I said I'm not going to do that right now, and they harassed me multiple times to make the appointment. I have since switched to a new Dentist. I made an appointment for them to quote me on the crown. Guess what, they told me that I do not need a crown on that tooth! However, I did have a cavity on another tooth, in which I had complained about sensitivity. There was clearly a cavity on the side of that tooth, which the LFD Dentist should have seen if she actually looked in my mouth. Nicole called me back. She was condescending and unapologetic and refused to even consider adjusting my bill. She did offer a 10% uninsured discount which brought the bill from $1100 to $1000. Really no help at all!!! This place is a total scam. I will be contacting the DSPS regarding my experience at this place!
