Super cute store one of my favorite thrift stores in town, great selection and great prices. They also have some designer brands!

I have been buying secondhand clothing and locally-made vendor goods from Darling x Dashing for a few years now (and consigning my own clothes just to end up buying more than I brought in ), and I have also hosted multiple "sip and shop" pop-ups as a representative for a nearby winery. It's an adorable shop run by an amazing group of incredible, caring people who put a great deal of time and effort into curating a welcoming environment for people from all walks of life. They are very selective about the items that they agree to consign, so shoppers have a ton of high-quality, in-style options to choose from. It's honestly dangerous to go in there because there is always something cute that I MUST have; however, if you have a clothing problem like I do, when you're not buying new, you can at least shop with a clean conscience! On the other end, the consignment process is simple, clear, and quick, and you are reasonably compensated when your items sell, especially if you opt for store credit payout. The dressing rooms are honestly my favorite part. When you walk in, you're greeted by hundreds of sticky notes with positive affirmations posted by other shoppers. It's like the positivity and immediate camaraderie you find in the womens' restroom at a club (but without all of the bottom-shelf liquor). Shop small, and shop secondhand! read more

Love love love this store!! It's super cute with practically something for everyone, both men and women. My favorite part was the interactive aspect in the dressing room of being able to write positive messages on a sticky note and posting it on the wall. How creative and uplifting! You can find clothes ranging from a few dollars (I got a pair of jeans for $6) to a couple hundred (marked way down though from the original price). read more

The sticker selection is IMPECCABLE. So creative. So clever. The thrift store section is so adorable and overall friendly and welcoming.

Really cute place! I love that they have a mix of thrift/consignment and local products. I have purchased a wide variety of items here: from vintage bags to full-length gowns. First tip, be sure to check out the clearance room downstairs! A whole room with additional discounts? It is always my first stop. And make sure you always go through the racks! I found my favorite purchase ever -- a full length royal blue satin gown -- hidden behind more casual wear! It is really fun to be "finding" products all over the store. And the prices are great. I picked up a small Longchamp in great condition for $25 and I use it every day. This is a great stop for fun shopping, or for anything you need. But be warned, I've never walked out empty-handed! read more

Darling is a wonderfully curated consignment with plenty of items from local artists mixed in. I love that they have events and a new masculine part of the store too. I love shopping here and can almost always find a fun unique piece to take home. I've never sold to them but I imagine that the offers would be fair. Most of their items are priced fairly too and seem to move through the store in a few weeks time. read more

LOVE!! Such a cute boutique/consignment shop! They have two floors- there's a men's side (dashing) and a women's side (darling). The women's side has an upstairs and a downstairs. They have lovely earrings, accessories, stickers, and an array of other items. They had a great selection of second hand clothing as well. HUGE fitting room - a huge plus!!! So nice!!! I like how they make available what has sold and for how much. You can access this through your personal portal. They also do direct deposit. Very unique. They did not take much but most of what they took has sold and better prices than in Harrisonburg. They also take men's clothing . read more

Walked in the front door with an item in hand from the outside rack, 3 staff members were there and didn't say hi or ask if I needed help finding anything. I walked around for a while and staff just ignored me. I usually don't feel the need to give bad reviews but the least staff can do is acknowledge their customers especially at a small store like this. read more

Darling Boutique is a great little consignment shop. They also have jewelry, art and skin care products from local makers, and a selection of new accessories, like sunglasses. The layout is really nice because it flows like a normal boutique would and it's bright and airy, so you don't feel hemmed in by racks and racks of used clothes. The shop owner obviously curates the selection, but still seems to try to keep a selection that would suit anyone's taste. As in, it doesn't tend towards only one look/"brand" as a normal boutique would, because of course this is consignment so she's pulling from lots of different folks in the area and selling to lots of folks, too. Some of the prices are still higher than you'd usually spend when buying second hand, but because the pieces are in good quality and often brand name/designer I think it merits that expense, and it's still cheaper than you would find them for new of course! I enjoyed my visit in and will definitely visit again when I have a more direct shopping target at hand. read more

Good used Jcrew if you're vanilla like that and like to dress like you're still living in 2012. (Being near UVA, I should say that's most people.) But if you have a real eye/personality just head two stores up the street to Arsenic & Old Lace Vintage. This place just doesn't have anything that special and absolutely no eye for vintage. read more

I bought a shirt online from this boutique. I read the description and did not see that there were any stains. However, when I received it, there was a black stain on a white tee. There were no disclosures on the item description, and in fact, this was written to me after I sent them a photo of the stain: "I apologize that we did not catch the flaw in the item before it was shipped out. That was an error on our part, and I apologize for the oversight and understand your frustration." Instead of offering to refund me, they suggested I buy something else for a discount. That's opposite of doing the right thing. I love to give great reviews, but second hand or not, I would NOT have purchased it had I known there was a stain. AND this was on a white tee so it was not subtle. It's not wearable, and I would not even feel right giving it to Goodwill. I would never buy from DarlingxDashing Boutique again! So disappointed, especially since they admitted to their mistake. I took a photo of the stain, yet no refund. You can't treat people like that; sell them something without disclosing a defect, then admitting it and not dong the right thing. I buy and sell on Poshmark, and have never sold anything with a defect, nor bought anything without offering full disclosure. Shame on you. read more

Darling is a little gem on one of the Charlottesville downtown mall's side streets (easy jaunt from Water St. garage or the Saturday Farmer's Market). At first glance, you might not even realize you're in a consignment shop. It is beautifully put together like a charming little boutique, with no clutter so shopping is easy and pleasant. They also post their latest items on Facebook (with price and size) which I really like. Definitely worth popping in! read more

Love, love, love, this place! It is a lovely space off the downtown mall (near the Southern) with a nicely curated selection of gently loved women's clothing at reasonable prices. Note: reasonable prices for on trend styles and classic staple pieces (LBD, blouses, etc.). A few noteworthy items ranged from brands like Anthropologie, Hunter, Free People, Boden, and etc. Bear in mind that this is a small shop so it doesn't house racks on racks of items, but rather, a compact selection of quality items. The store is easy to navigate due to its brightly lit and well organized nature. The decor is à la your bff's sweet apartment with quirky coffee table, chairs, and sweet wall hangings abound. There's a couch and chair combo right near the fitting room for your friends (or significant others) to lounge on while you try/buy. They also have a decent shoe and scarf selection in the center. There are shelves that run the length of the store which feature local artisan jewelry pieces and other accessories that are the perfect "treat yourself" bits or gifts for others. The owner/employees have always been very friendly and easy to talk to about the clothes. This makes shopping here really easy and quite fun. The general vibe is a non-pretentious, artsy, affordable, consignment shop that you could and would actually buy something from. FYI: They don't offer comped parking but there are plenty of spaces in the lot across the street (bring quarters on the weekdays)! read more

I typically don't have much patience for consignment stores but this one has changed the game for me. I recently consigned some items with them and had a great experience. I also managed to walk out with some RayBan aviators for more than 50% off!! I'm definitely looking forward to shopping here more often. If you're interested in consigning: you need to make an appointment and they book up FAST. right now they are already booking out for June so make sure you plan ahead. Great shop that is half locally made items and half consignment shop. If you're into stickers they have a ton here. Great selection in the consignment shop and what I was most impressed with was the amount of quality leather boots available from Frye and other great brands.
