Was offered a price on a trade in when I took the vehicle in for an estimate on some work. Wasn't ready to trade it then, though. Got a letter saying they were in need of more of these types of vehicles (Cadi SRX), so I called them back. Was informed they didn't have the paperwork from my previous visit, and that I would have to come back down. Let them know my schedule was very tight that weekend, but went anyway. After another eval and some questions (same ones I answered the time before), they said they weren't interested and wouldn't offer anything. My wife and I had a bad experience at a local dealer attempting to get a repair using our Hendrix extended warranty on our 2015 Ford Edge. It was awesome! I own a LaCrosse and Enclave and will certainly never go anywhere else. Used to go to Freeland but never again. Horrible service, never fix things right so I gave up on them. Called Waltrip, told them my issues, made an appt, my advidor Corey was waiting on me, they had a rental ready, kept me informed, checked my car thoroughly and fixed things I didn't even know about. Service Dept: I had to pay $100 for a diagnostic test that the person on the phone told me needed to be done at the dealership rather than doing it for free at an auto parts store. So I paid the $100 and they told me what was wrong with it. The estimate price is over $700 for a repair that should be no more than $375. I priced the parts and the high end parts cost $233. How is it that a part that costs that much will have around $500 in labor? Don't get me wrong, the dude behind the counter was very respectfully. Hell, toss him a raise. His name is Daniel. I've been doing business with Waltrip GMC for many years now. I have always been treated fairly and professionally every time. The service department has never pushed services on me, but rather suggests them...which I appreciate. Only one time was I displeased. Took my 2015 truck in for service on Friday at 7:00am. By 4:00 still had not heard back from them. I called and was told that they had a backup from the day before and my truck wouldn't be ready until Saturday morning. Fine. The non-communication was my only complaint. The truck repair/maintenance was performed perfectly (just not timely). A couple of years ago I had a 2010 Sierra that had a fuel pump go out. I got it to the dealership and not only did they help me, but they had an extra fuel pump in stock that they sold me for a discounted price (I guess it had been on the shelf for a while and they wanted it gone). Needless to say, that is when I became a life-long customer. The waiting area is clean. The snack/drink area is always stocked. No pressure to by anything. Always washed vehicle before returning it to me. Other than the one time mentioned above, the service manager(s) have been great to deal with. The only other thing that bugs me is when you checkout/pay for service, they tell you "you'll be getting a survey emailed asking about your experience. Anything less than a 5 (the highest rating) is considered failure." Well, being in the auto industry, I understand why they are saying that. However, Understanding Does Not Mean Agreement! I don't need them to influence the survey results. And I do not agree with their statement. Getting a 4/5 is not failing. So, 5-stars it is! I've been very pleased 99.99% of the time. read more

The Volvo service department is absolutely horrible! I have gone to have my 10K oil change 3 times and I not sure whether they did anything or not. The first 30k services were suppose to be free when you purchased a new Volvo. Every time I went, I would have to go back because they didn't fill up my fluids such as engine coolant and window cleaner. The last time I went, I checked before leaving and again they were not touched. They told me that it wasn't necessary. I went to a reputable car maintenance company who said that it was standard to top off all of the fluids when getting a 10k tune up. In addition, I was asked if I wanted to pay extra to have my tire balanced (rotation was included in the 10K maintenance.) Well, I said yes, if that was what was recommended. Later, I was checking my tires this week because of low engine coolant and low and behold, it looks like the tires have NEVER been rotated at all. The inside of my front tires are bald whereas the outside of the front tires have normal wear. The back tires have normal wear pattern. I always have my tires routinely rotated and balanced and I have never seen this in my previous cars. Also, if you think you are getting luxury car experience, think again. To have the oil changed each time, I had to sit there for 3 hours! We have had Acura, Lexus and Mercedes and this never happened there. All that to say that I would avoid the Volvo dealer and service department at all cost. read more

He offered to let me keep it over night , asked if he could call me the next day to go over any additional questions I had, and was always very conscientious of my time. He wasn't pushy or shady. I topk my Buick LaCrosse there to be serviced as my check engine light was on. Approximately 1 hour after dropping my car off I was called and advised that one of my catalytic converters had gone bad and it would be approximately $1100 to replace. Luckily, I work for an insurance company and ran it by one of our appraisers prior to paying for the repair. Come to find out I was almost charged $1100 for a part they were supposed to replace for free!!! It was only caught due to my own research of federal EPA regulations! When I called back with what I found the service consultant put me on hold for all of 2 seconds, not even enough time to pull my paperwork, picked the phone right back up and immediately began apologizing and stating he doesn't know how he overlooked that. That's a HELL of an oversight!!!! There's no telling how many unknowing customers they've made paid for this service that is supposed to be free, smh. $1100 is no chump change...to me anyway. read more

I have purchased many vehicles before and this experience ranks at the top of my list! Even when I found a couple of issues with my Yukon, they had me bring it in and fixed them at no charge. We relied totally on Cody to verify the condition of the car (a 3 yr. lease auto.) Cody was up front, personally looked the LaCrosse over top to bottom, inside and out. He answered all our questions, was never pushy as some sales people can get and was a true blessing to work with. Plain and simple: DO NOT buy a car from Darrell Waltrip. They jacked the price up on the first-round on a used car, then came back with a price that was $2k less, but made it very confusing so it looked like they were adding more for the trade-in, but the real math was nothing of the sort. The numbers I signed for were not the numbers in the offer that I signed. Then I found out the price I paid was MORE than the online price for the car -- even WITH my minimal trade-in. You sign at a computer screen that sits on a desk; they don't even tell you there is a paper option, but you CAN ask for paper -- SO CHECK YOUR NUMBERS! I had to wait an hour just to pay for the car, and I paid CASH. Drove it out and half way down the road found the side mirrors did not work -- after plopping down $18k for a car that had a "160+" point check. Yeah, right. I hate buying cars, and this dealership isn't unlike 99.9% of all the others. I have sickening buyer's remorse that I'll have to live with -- and pay out the nose to change. read more

With a credit score over 800, they offered me an almost 8% interest rate! So of course I found an outside company to finance through. Well, they didn't like that too much Bc I was told that we had a deal over the phone but once I got there with a check in hand, the number had to change(I'm sure Bc I didn't finance through them). I have been talking to salesman BM about buying a vehicle. I called BM yesterday to see if i can come by and look at some cars. He suggested that i look at their website first and pick out few cars and write down their stock number and call him back. I did what he suggested and called him to talk about the cars that i picked. He did not answer his phone so i left him a voice mail. He did not call back. I called him a couple of more times and he did not answer. A day later and still he has not return my calls. So i called the dealership today to speak to sales manger. After being transferred three times i was able to speak with a sales manager. I explained my situation to him he asked me if i wanted to speak to my salesperson. He did not sound concerned or bothered that his salesman did not want to help me find a car. His only concern was if i was still interested in buying a car. I'm very disappointed in the lack of service and help from this dealership. read more

This was the worst car buying experience we have ever had. We spent 2 Saturday's at the dealership for several hours even though we knew exactly which car we wanted. Once we finally got all the paper work done, several more forms were brought to us to sign because they "forgot" them originally. One of the forms stated that was brought to us later stated we would be provided a full tank of gas, which we were disappointed but not at all surprised to see half a tank of gas when we drove away in our new car. We were obviously working with a new sales woman. When we went back to finance, we were happy to interact with Natalie who seemed to know more of what she was doing. She gave us her card and e mail in case we needed anything else and reassured us everything would be much more professional from that point forward. When I e mailed her a few days later to make sure we were scheduled to come in to the service dept to switch out our wheels and get car care applied, she never responded. When I came in for that scheduled appointment, I was told the truck was not in with our wheels and there was no rental car for me even though I was told several times that would be provided. This was my 3rd time in 10 days being at the dealership. We were told we would receive a phone call when our wheels were in. We never got a call - had to call ourselves to see if they were in several days later and made an appointment for car care and wheels. Dropped car off at 9 AM, was told again there was no loaner car but this time had learned our lesson that this dealership is unreliable so luckily we didn't need one that day. At2:30 PM got a call that the car was finished. At this point we knew better so confirmed that they had changed the wheels and applied car care. They had not done the car care and didn't know anything about it. Would not recommend this dealership - very unprofessional and not customer oriented. read more

We were the second customer thru the service department when they opened a few years ago. We have always had our Acadia serviced, new tires and had repairs done at this location since they opened. All was good until a few months age we took our Acadia in with mechanical problems and they said they couldn't find anything, a month later we had the Acadia back they still couldn't give us an answer told us it could possibly be one of the motor supports that was broke which we already knew about but they thought that replacing that would help our problem but after 450.00 to replace it did nothing. I called Jeff and said what do we do since you can't find the problem and he said it never hurts to get a second opinion. My husband call Parks GMC in Columbia and talked with the service manager and oh my gosh the nicest person and told us to bring it in and let them check it out and if I need a loaner vehicle they would be happy to provide and after year of service with Darrell Waltrip GMC we had never never been offered a loaner vehicle. We were taken a back with the service we were given.Parks Service Dept. did find our problem right away and was so nice and gave us a quote. We chose not to repair the vehicle and to just buy a new one from Parks GMC in Columbia. Oh my, they were wonderful the sales staff and the service dept. are the best. We took in our 2011 Buick Enclave for the hatch recall. While it was in, I received a call from Jeff. He let me know that they discovered a brake fluid leak and asked if I would like them to go ahead and repair the issue for $863. We declined and communicated to him that we would get a second estimate, because in our experience the dealership has always charged a higher fee. We called the mechanic we have used in the past and his quote (parts and labor) was $200 less expensive. The next day, we took it in to be repaired with our mechanic here in Franklin. About 2 hours later, we receive a phone call from the mechanic that their camera scope showed no problems whatsoever and advised us that the repair was is not needed. Our independent mechanic has no agenda and is now out $600 (minus the $25 he charged to look at it). This practice of adding services is very dishonest. We will never use or buy a car from Darrell Waltrip Buick, nor we allow our friends to become subject to this treatment. read more

I walked into DWBG already on the fence about the new GMC Sierra, but was coming to take a look at it since I am a loyal GMC owner (Have owned 8 in last 15 years), but visiting this dealership was the last straw. From a salesperson who knew nothing about GMC and what was coming (argued with me that there would not be any changes between 2015 and 2106) to the harassing sales manager that had to come out when we were leaving and try to talk us into buying the vehicle on the spot. I went in telling them that I would be buying in three weeks, no sooner as I was starting a new job, however this was not good enough for them. I got into my vehicle, drove down the street and picked out my new Ford F150 that Ford Lincoln of Franklin held for me for three weeks until I was ready to purchase. Although, I will be buying another new Yukon in the next few months, DWBG will not be getting the opportunity for my business. read more
