I'm very pleased with Wursters. We own a 2008 Mazda CX-9 and had grown displeased with the local Mazda dealers. As anyone who has dealt with Cool Springs Mazda (f/k/a Alexander Mazda) knows, they are not very friendly, do not call about repair times, and are generally not that good. Although I have always serviced my cars at the dealership, I decided to look for an alternative to the dealer for this particular car. Wursters was recommended by a colleague who claimed they were great on any foreign make of car. I decided to take the risk and use them. The first visit, I had them do a routine maintenance and oil change. The price was 1/3 of the dealer price and they did a fine job. Now, about 10 months later, the car wouldn't start this morning and it had to be towed to Wursters. I thought it could be a starter, alternator, etc. Wursters diagnosed it quickly as a short in the battery and completed the necessary repair work by lunchtime. Overall, these guys have been honest, prompt, and nice. While their building and facility may look more "industrial" than your local dealer, this is a good business that knows what its doing. Wursters has serviced our cars for years, and they take great care of them and us. However recently they went ABOVE and BEYOND to help us. I had a small wreck with my BMW M3; the car was sent (by our insurance company )to a local garage; then moved to Cool Springs Collision. When the car was returned to me 6 MONTHS later every light on the dash was on. The mechanic at Cool Springs Collision said his "guy" checked it out and that he couldn't find anything worng. "Just drive it for awhile" they should go off.... I immediately took the car to Wursters - where they found not only a sensor that was jarred and not identified during the repair but also that the whole undercarriage (transmission plate) was damaged during the move. Had I just "drove it" as cool springs collision recommend who knows what would have happened !! Mike and his team are so awesome!! They are thorough, honest and efficient. I live in Nashville and it's worth the 30 minute drive to know my car is in the hands of someone who truly loves and appreciates German cars. He doesn't just love them, he knows what makes them tick, and as anyone who has driven an aging German vehicle knows, that knowledge is priceless. I have had many good experiences at Wurster's, but last year, I took my car through emissions, which it promptly failed on many counts. The estimate at another car place, based on the emissions report, was upwards of $750. Wurster's, as usual, were honest and fixed everything so my car would pass for under $200. Some services at Wurster's seem expensive, like their oil changes, but in my experience, having my car worked on by people who know what they are doing has saved me money in the long run. Unfortunately, because of its stellar reputation, it is sometimes difficult to book your car in. Mike Wurster is always busy - cell phone in one ear, ticket in another - and trying to take care of cars and customers at the same time, but he's always pleasant and caring (even when he has to break bad news). I understand that this garage is generally well respected in the community, but this is my recent experience. I brought in my 2017 Mini Cooper in for an oil change and to check for excess engine vibration. Well over $200 for an oil change and an inspection on the vibration. They diagnosed my issue as a collapsed motor mount and a harmonic balancer that was "coming apart." Total repair estimate: $1846 before taxes and fees (in addition to the charge for the vibration check). When I shopped around some other garages, I found repairs that were quoted $200 cheaper, when I called Wursters back, they flatly told me they don't do price matching, almost like I had insulted them for even asking. Finally called the Mini dealership, they said they would match the lower quote, and when I brought the car in, they told me it did not need a new harmonic balancer AT ALL. Saved over $1300 from the original Wursters quote. Obviously not a good experience at this garage, I guess the lesson is to shop around for expensive repairs. read more

We put a few grand into my car a few months ago (at Wursters) & had to take it back about a month ago because it was still having issues. They told me it would be $2700 to fix. I took my family's advice & went to another garage (Eurofix) to get a second opinion. They completely disagreed with what Wursters had told me. I think that Wursters completely lied to get a few grand out of me actually. I ended up having to get new tires for $600 & the issues are completely resolved. Do not trust Wursters, go somewhere else. Eurofix is a great other option for foreign cars. read more

Dropped my Audi A8 off with them one evening thinking I wouldn't have it back for a few days. To my surprise they finished programming and troubleshooting everything by noon the following day. The customer service was first class as they tolerated listening to me explain at great length what I thought was wrong smiled and said we will take care if it sir. My Audi's are older cars and sometimes I feel like the dealer looks down their nose at you but not these guys. Their rates were much less than Audi Dealer and got the feeling they enjoy what they do in their business. They're car guys. If you've got a German car, you need Wurster's on speed dial. read more

Wurster's is an honest, reliable autoshop with a great reputation. I have a 2004 Mini Cooper that has had many problem since the day I bought it. We have always believed it was a lemon, but the Mini dealer would not do anything about it, especially after the warranty ran out!! I recently took my mini to the dealer for some maintenance (power steering fluid) and they quickly provided me with a laundry list of problems that "just had to be fixed immediately". Something did not seem right with the $4000 quote I received so I took the car (and the list) to Mike Wurster. He thoroughly inspected the car and ruled out many of the unnecessary and costly repairs, but let me know which things actually needed fixing. For example, Mini said I needed to replace many of the oil o-rings and gaskets and Mike said that actually the dealer was careless in changing the oil and had spilled oil all over the engine compartment, making it appear that there was a leak. I appreciate his honest opinion and don't mind spending money on a car when I know the repairs are necessary! I will take my car to Wurster's from now on knowing that it is money well spent. read more

Wurster's is in Franklin, next to the Factory. Convenient location. I have heard from several people about the great service and reasonable prices at Wurster's, and the reports are true. I brought my BMW in for an oil change, and to check why my steering light was on. It must have been a busy time of the day to bring in a car because I had to wait a few hours for them to even get the car in. Once they got my car in the bay, it only took a half hour or so. They topped off my fluids, tightened a few clamps, and sent me on my way with a smile. The staff was polite, the waiting room was clean and comfortable, and the coffee was hot. Not ethical. Be careful! I have never left a bad review on yelp, but this warrants it. We have lived in Franklin for 20 years and thought Wursters operated with integrity. We took my Porsche Cayenne back in and this time for a new starter, not an inexpensive repair. The back of my drivers seat was loose as well. When Ross called to let us know the estimate, we asked about the seat and were told they could also repair it for $210. How it would be fixed was not discussed. The seat was taken off fully and then epoxied back on. It did not last 4 months and was in my floorboard. We called and they scheduled us to bring it back in. When they called with the estimate and solution, it was another $671 to replace the whole thing (not deducting the $210) or $400+ for a junkyard replacement. We were not told of these options initially and our loose seatback was now worse. Michael refused to give our money back on the cheap "fix" and claimed it was clearly labeled "no warranty" on the invoice (which it was) but was never discussed. Regardless, including language on an invoice to justify your ridiculous pricing for a cheap repair is not a replacement for good business and ethics. read more

Charged 5.5 hours in diagnostic fee's to confirm the issue which was discussed prior them looking at the car, then wanted to charge 14 hours of labor to alleviate the issue. I did the work as a complete novice in four hours. The tech broke the wood veneer and Mike became very defensive stating it was already broken and I didn't know what I was talking about(it is my car after all). Then he stated he never looked at the car and was going off what his mechanic stated. I will say thanks for giving me the desire to learn to perform the work, I have learned a lot and saved a good bit of money since then. BTW, this was not my only visit to Wurster's just happened to be the last in a string of botched repairs. read more

I cannot say enough nice things about Steve Harris at Wurster's. I have a 2006 Audi A4 with a soft top that wasn't working. We had taken it several places and no one was able to repair it. We had almost given up on it hen someone suggested we try Wurster's. The initial assessment was extremely high, but after thinking it over (the car runs beautifully) we decided to go ahead and let them try to fix it. Imagine my surprise when less than a week later saying it is now working great and the cost turned out to be a tiny fraction of the original estimate. This tells me they are not only great mechanics, but honest as well. We took the car on vacation last week and it was glorious to be able to put the top down once again. read more

I am very sorry to write that my experience with Mike Wurster and his repair team was the absolute worst repair experience I have ever experienced! They worked on my 1989 Volvo Wagon, which had been worked on by another shop and it would not ignite. They did manage to get it running, but could not figure out how to turn the engine off, after the car had been in their shop for about a week. As time went on, I began to get the feeling that I could not trust them. To this day I still don't know if all of the work performed was necessary, i. e. replacing the original computer, etc. When I was able to pick up the car, the bill was over $1290.00......the most I've ever paid for a car repair, other than transmission work, and after driving it for less than 10 miles, and stopping for gas, it would not start!! I had AAA tow the car back to their shop, and the diagnosis was that the car needed a new starter,, for an additional $365.00. Because I had lost all faith in Mike and his crew, I had the car towed to a third shop, and it was discovered that the starter was fine and the car needed a new alternator, so Wurster's diagnosis was incorrect! Now the car runs well...finally, but even this third shop was unable to figure out why the car still won't shut off....which is probably due to a faulty ignition unit. Mike did say that he'd be willing to have the car reexamined, but at this point I'm afraid to trust him and his mechanics. First the good. Everyone is friendly, and the waiting room is small but nice. After using Wurster's several times, however, it's apparent they routinely offered inferior repairs for a higher price, and in some cases repairs that were unrequested and unnecessary. If you don't mind spending a little more, sometimes on needless repairs, the friendly atmosphere alone may be worth it. Really happy with my first visit to this business. I had bought a used Volvo C30 great little car. It had some issues after the first 6 months of me getting it. Took my BMW into this shop the other day because it was leaking oil. My first thought was that I had blown a head gasket, but according to the owner of this shop, I needed to spend $8,000 and buy a whole new engine! Since I do know about cars I wasn't taking his bullshit offer and towed the car to another mechanic that I trusted and it cost just over $1,000 to fix... Ohh and guess what...
