They did text at 4:40 but it did not come through immediately and that was not enough notice for us to get there by 5 PM. My daughter dropped her car off at 3:30 PM for an oil change and confirmed that they closed at 6 PM. Website also confirms 6 PM. They confirmed that they would have the car ready before closing. We returned at 5:10 and they were closed!! Keys to the car which includes keys to her apartment are locked in the building until Monday morning. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE TO CLOSE AN HOUR EARLY WITHOUT A PHONE CALL & WAITING FOR US TO PICK UP!!! We could have paid over the phone and they could've hidden the keys. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Took granddaughters car due to air not cooling . Charged $300 to be told that she needed a condenser abd that radiator was leaking ( never a drop of fluid shown on ground ) . Concerned had them replaced ,walked out paying $ 2250. Every mechanic that hears said we were over charged and doubt that there was leak if no one ever saw fluid . When a child is leaving for college you want them safe . My suggestion is to get a second opinion read more

Recently had major work done on my car at Autofix in Franklin. Have had other work done by them and have always been pleased with the results and thought prices were fair. During this last repair, my car was damaged by accident during the repair process. I was shocked when they called me, told me exactly what they thought had happened and informed me that the damage would be fixed at no cost to me. I'm a diy guy but caved and decided to have these guys double check my AC system. I asked specifically to check the proper tightness on the lines going to the radiator from the condenser. Basically, I told them I replace the radiator and opened an AC line not realizing it was an AC line. The system leaked out. I decided to replace all the o-rings at the lines accessible in the engine bay. I told them to just check for appropriate tightness at the four locations. They charged me a diagnostic fee and another diag fee when I returned beyond their window of assessment which I didn't know was a thing. So: 2 dig fees. 1 several hours of teck time evaluating my system including driving my car. 1 result of tightened one fitting. Issue was exactly what I said. Cost me over $680 and two trips to tighten one union I asked to be checked initially. They also recharged the system. read more

I know that there is often risk at taking your car to a mechanic - just like going to the doctor - because ultimately it's all based on trust, especially when there is a knowledge gap as to 'what is wrong?' I have taken my cars (Honda, Subaru, Volvo) a handful of times, and each time I've been met with a complicated repair, I've been met with clear explanations, photos of the problems, even the opportunity to go into the garage and see the issue myself (as well as talk with the mechanic). They have given me alternatives and help me prioritize repairs when the price may be out of budget, and they often have a free loaner while my car is being repaired. They give me updates if they need to order parts and I get a text to approve any repairs in advance so there are never surprises. It's never fun paying for unexpected repairs, but that's just the cost of owning an aging car. Martine is friendly to everyone who comes in - she acts like she's known them forever, and some are definitely regulars. I'm glad this shop is nearby too. read more

I recently brought my truck into AutoFix because I had noticed a slight oil leak. This is second vehicle that I rarely drive so I wasn't very concerned. After inspection the techs had identified the problem was a worn out screw plug. The staff replaced the part and then proceeded to provide me with a new oil change even though I wasn't due for one. After I asked what I owed they told me there would be no charge. While no business is perfect, I've routinely had positive experiences with this mechanic and just re-emphasizes why I call on them for routine service on many of my vehicles. read more

In response to the owner's comments. Thank you for illustrating the attitude I was met with on my most recent interaction with your company. Before I continue, let me say clearly I have no complaints about your staff, they have good customer service skills and are very good at their job they were able to get my warranty company to pay for just about everything they said they needed to do. Your indication that I treated them poorly is erroneous. I did not have a single confrontational interaction with them until I expressed my indignation about the company's position on the faulty part. Through the whole of the initial repair I worked hand in hand with them figuring things out. You stated in your response that there were multiple discounts and extras done on my behalf as well as that you were supplied with a substandard engine to put in my vehicle. The only discount I remember ever being spoken of was $100 dollars when Martine call with the original $2000 dollar quote. The real reason I ended up only paying $260 was because I pushed back, investigated and asked questions. My deductible was $100 dollars the additional $160 was for sparkplugs your company continued to push me to get even though they had just been replaced the year before and were not damaged, just dirty. As for the condition of my engine, if it was in such poor condition, why did you not inform me that I may not want that engine installed in my vehicle and may want to talk about it with my CA mechanic about moving forward with it? I was told only that it had been damaged during shipping and that it would need the valve cover replaced. When it was discovered that the oil pan also needed replacing, I let my CA mechanic know and you worked it out between the two of you as it was his responsibility as he supplied the engine whatever discounts were given was between you and him I saw no parts discounts anywhere on the invoice and if a discounted part still costs upwards of $400 (not including labor) I'm wondering the actual cost was. Remember, I was a person new to the area in crisis and without a mechanic in the area, had you not tried to take advantage I would have ended up a very loyal customer even if you were a bit out of the way. After my car was finished, there was also no follow up or interest in making sure the engine was running correctly. Still I didn't feel the need for a public negative review until you made it clear that you were going to do nothing about the faulty part ( a part, let me remind you, your company insisted need to be replaced with out any indication the one that was already connected to the engine was faulty). Your business practices created this situation and you are further in the wrong to try and shame me because I didn't have to pay that initial $2000 dollar amount. I am proud and relieved I was able to resolve the situation for a manageable amount as at the time my bank account was in recovery from putting a down on our house. Just because I came from California does not mean I came with California $$. We were pushed out of that state because of the absolutely untenable financial situation of low wages and high inflation has created there. We are one of the many who came here for a better future for our kids. Your company was wrong to try and take advantage of us, wrong to refuse to warranty a part you deemed needed to be replaced, ordered and then replaced yourselves, and you are wrong again to try an shame me for not being a push over. Very disappointed in my experience here. I took my 2007 Lincoln Town Car in for the rear air ride system replacement via appointment booked a week in advance. The parts needed for this repair are easily looked up online, and are roughly $300 retail (for the compressor, air bags, solenoids). Labor is an hour. They also replaced the gas shocks on the rear ($92/per shock) and another hour labor. They also replaced the serpentine drive belt ($93) and 1/2 hour labor. Total parts (retail price) online, $578; Auto Fix charged me $1582.52 for these same parts and $721 for labor, for a total of $2301.52. If that wasn't bad enough, they charged me a $49.99 "shop fee". Total "out the door" was $2580.72. I understand they are in business to make money, but this is ridiculous. Any way you slice it, they went 2.5x on parts and charged (at least) $250/hr on labor. It appears their commercials on talk radio about "honesty and no dealer pricing" do not ring true. If they had just been fair, they would have had a customer for life and I would have recommended them to everyone I knew. My experience with them has taught me otherwise. I will never understand why repair shops want to "take your head off" on one repair and lose your business for life instead of making a fair profit and earning your business and goodwill for life. I so regret taking a chance on them. I'll stick to Moody's; their labor quote was $450. read more

Requested a quote and was told that I had to bring the car into the to get an estimate since the technicians did them. This business practice appears to be geared to get you to waste time coming to the shop and then feeling you have no choice but to accept their price. This seems unethical and geared to take advantage of busy people. If you are retired and nothing else to do, this would work fine for you. Their competitors will give you reasonable quote so you can make a decision not get into a time trap. read more

I recently had my car in for a power steering issue, and had it diagnosed. I was told that it would cost me $565. to replace the upper power steering hose,serpentine belt, and power wash my motor to check for additional leaks. The service writer did NOT break down the repair cost and parts/labor, .I was charged $157.00 for a power wash for my engine. They did give me a $50. discount, but still have learned that this repair should be much less. I complained, but paid the price. I called back and ask to speak to the owner, and was told that the owner was not available. I feel that I was over charged, and will NEVER use Auto Fix again. read more

Our experience of Autofix was very unpleasant to say the least. Our vehicle, 2012 GMC Acadia, had AC malfunction, and the traction-control switches on/off automatically. Both issues happened about two months ago, but the car was perfectly drivable. We were looking for a new vehicle and was planning to trade the car in, but first wanted to take it to the Autofix to see if it is worth fixing. The shop called with a quote of that we could not afford. We told them that since we are planning to trade this car for a new one, we will not fix it and the car is not worth that amount. As we were ready to pick up the car from the shop, we got another phone call from them telling us that now our car could not be driven. The reason was that when the mechanic was inspecting the "Roden damage" of the wire, it was further moved causing the vehicle to go into the "limp mode/engine reduced power mode," which the car could not be driven above 10 miles an hour. And then, the car was required to be repaired. We told the shop again that we would not fix the car just as we did at the very beginning, and we asked the car to be restored to the way we dropped it. But we did not ask the shop to fix the "Roden damage" issue as they wrote on the quote. They insisted on refusing to help restore the car to the way they received it and repeatedly told us that "the limp mode could happen anytime, and it was not their fault." However, the car had been perfectly drivable in the normal way for more than two months while those issues existed. After more than one hour of waiting at the shop, they were finally willing to restore the car to the way it was. (did not fix it, just got the car out of the limp mode). As I was retrieving the key from the staff, she threw a horrible attitude toward me as if I took great advantage of the shop. But the fact was: our car was just at the same status as we dropped it off that morning, they did not fix anything, but it caused us several hours trying to sort out this absurdity and non-sense with them. I recently moved here and needed to replace my beloved mechanic from Maryland. Needless to say, this place now has my family's business for all our automotive issues. Why, you ask? Let me tell you: 1) I called on a Thursday afternoon at 3 pm, they made an appt for me NEXT DAY at 9 am. 2) The service was friendly and personal yet professional. (Note, I didn't interact with any mechanics.) 3) Tracey (Svc Mgr) presented me with a list of charges for what I requested be done as well as an itemized, hand-written list of recommended services. I was able to pick and choose what I wanted done right then and now vs what I opted to wait on, and that didn't change the cost one whit. 4) I took my car in for an electrical issue that was going to cost $120 to diagnose but because the issue was found to be a blown fuse, they didn't even charge me half of that - even though they spent some time trying to figure out why the fuse had blown. 5) The cost for a simple oil change and tire rotation was CHEAPER than the dealer, Jiffy Lube, and what I paid in Maryland. Yah! 6) They vacuumed out my car before returning it to me. 7) The waiting area was perfect - had a little 'office' area for me to work in, very comfy, with free drinks, snacks, coffee, wireless, etc. In my opinion, AutoFix knocked it out of the park in all the key areas and I'll be heading there next time I have a car problem! read more

The folks at AutoFix communicated each step of the way even waiting on the repair until a full diagnosis was complete(thinking the total repairs would be more than the value of the vehicle). I have used area dealerships as well as independent repair shops for oil changes and auto repairs for our four cars. I learned over the past 15 years to lower my expectations when it comes to anything automotive. Over priced, had to take it back for the same repair, grease on steering wheel and seats and the list goes on. That is until now as we stumbled on a repair business that actually cares about their customers, doesn't gouge you and stands behind their work. Oh, almost forgot, they greet you with hot cookies, water, cokes and they hand wash your car. We have been Auto Fix of Franklin customers this past year for our Infinity, Xterra and Tahoe. This is a low integrity shop that will not honor their own parts and labor warranty if things go wrong.. Had my engine replaced by them in Dec. 2021 for a little more than $7,000. Engine didn't last more than two months before it overheated. Brought it back to them and they told me I needed a new engine and they wouldn't honor their own parts and labor warranty because the heater hose (which is attached to the engine) went and that caused the fluid to go and the engine to overheat on the highway. Their reasoning was that since the engine itself wasn't faulty when they put it in they are not at fault and they wouldn't give me a refund despite their own warranty on parts and labor (note: an engine inspection that should have detected problems with heater hoses was included under labor...). It's the little things and It's the big things. From the micro to the macro AutoFix gets it right. It's the little things like a courteous staff that makes you feel welcome. I've been to AutoFix twice so far. Once was timing belt and transmission fluid change for my 2005 Toyota Siena. The other was this week for a wheel bearing and rear brakes. Branch Atkisson greeted me with a smile and asked about my son, then when Rick the Toyota tech came out he asked about my son as well. It's the big things like the best price in town and doing a great job on top of that. I tend to shop around. AutoFix had a great price. when I came in they put my car on the rack and Rick went through everything with me in advance. We looked under the car talked about my car and what needed to be done. I was impressed by Ricks knowledge and the fact that he took the time to explain everything. Towards the end of last week I knew it was time for some more work. I brought that car in Rick looked at it and we made an appointment for Monday. Monday morning they went right to work, did a great job and I'm ready to go. I rarely give reviews, but AutoFix is worth taking the time. I've recommended them to friends. These people are still my friends and they now recommend AutoFix to their friends as well. I took in my 1991 Jeep Wrangler to address a stalling issue. I mentioned to the service writer that my fuel filter was also leaking, and I wanted that replaced. I also asked for the parking brake to be adjusted. Two days later, I got the call that the vehicle was ready. When I arrived, they informed me that they were "unable to reproduce" the stalling issue, so nothing had been done to fix it. They had, however, replaced the fuel filter and adjusted the parking break. I declined additional diagnostics at the time, and paid my bill. I got in the car, and it stalled out on me before I left their parking lot. I backed up, and went back inside. The service writer was baffled, but I agreed to leave the vehicle for them to try to diagnose the problem again. As I was waiting to be picked up, I looked under the vehicle and saw fuel leaking. Yup, the fuel filter was still leaking. I show that to the service writer, and he promised to have it fixed. At that time, the service writer admitted to me that they only had three mechanics on duty, despite having a giant shop. 5 days later, and they contact me again. They still, despite claiming they tried and tried, could not get the vehicle to stall. They claimed to have done almost three hours of diagnostics, but came up with nothing. Besides the fact that the service writer admitted that it had stalled on him numerous times, it had to stall for the tech for them to admit it had an issue. When I got there to pick it up.....yup.....the fuel filter was still leaking. They initially agreed to cut the diagnostic charges in half, but dropped them altogether when I showed the manager the leaking fuel filter. The picture I took for the manager is attached. As I drove off with the vehicle, it stalled three times in a 1 mile drive. The next mechanic I took it to had no issues reproducing the issue, and has diagnosed the problem. Furthermore, he confirmed that the fuel filter is still leaking, and stated that it doesn't even look new. I have owned dozens of cars, and am somewhat versed in the way a car works. This was, without a doubt, the worst experience I have ever had with a repair shop. They are understaffed and their techs are completely incompetent. Our son owns a fine dining restaurant that is among the top 5 in Palm Springs CA and he usually gets 9 out of 10 4 or 5 stars and 1 out of 10 at 3 stars or less. You can't please all the people all the time, right??? Well so far Autofix does please all the time. Great service, nice waiting area with all the necessities even a charging station for your cell phone or other device. I am over 70 and have been to MANY auto repair shops and this is by far the best. They do a great job at reasonable prices and totally back up their work They can't be friendlier either. I am not happy with this place due to the fact they tried to upsell me. One of the workers had to bring out my air filter to tell me that it was dirty. I came here for just an oil change and tire rotation. The worst part is that she had to say she answers to a higher being and that she is an honest person, if I wasn't religious that would've have been offensive. People need to leave religion out of their work place because there will be issues with customers. Don't go here, they charge you way to much and up sell you. One of the best experiences ever at an auto mechanic. Autofix in Franklin should seriously train other businesses out there on how customer service should work. My wife and I were headed to Nashville for the weekend, and our check engine light came on not too far outside Nashville. Next to having a root canal, taking my car to an out of town mechanic is almost as terrifying. We wanted to spend some time in Franklin the next day, so I decided on checking Yelp to see some local mechanics. Autofix came up with 5 star reviews so I called that one. We dropped it off the next day, and Jenna could not have been more professional and friendly. They even shuttled us to a nearby restaurant, and picked us up when done. I was so happy they didn't "hose us" with the bill, and I think it would have been more at my local mechanic. They even washed the car for us. I play ball with the St. Louis Cardinals organization and have a blacked out 2015 ford f-150 platinum. It is very hard for me to trust anybody to do anything with my truck. It's the first car I've owned and the first car I've loved. It's my baby. Branch and the guys at auto fix take fantastic care of you. They answer any questions and don't charge you for things that aren't needed. If you have recalls, they will do them like the manufacturer would with no charge. When visiting an auto repair shop, honesty is most important to me, both with the actual repairs and price. Autofix of Franklin went above and beyond, repairing my Land Rover back to shape with exactly what was needed with a fair, reasonable price. I've been back again and had another positive experience when repairing the brakes on my wife's car. They also shuttled me from my house which was nice since I didn't have a way to get up there. I noticed they've entirely upgraded the shop with a nice lounge and TV, and it's much cleaner than some of the other shops I've been to. They even offered me a cookie while I waited. AutoFix has been my lifesaver. Brand new in town, made a mistake and bought a used car private party that I was told was running great and needed no work (it drove great on the test drive!). I got screwed. Within 48 hours it had a massive coolant leak and dumped the entire coolant reserve tank. Took it to AutoFix and discovered a it needed a water pump. $275 for the whole job. I even called my old shop I used back in CA for curiosity and they quotes me $575 for the same job. Fast forward to about 5 days later, my check engine light appears. Took it back it and it was throwing 5 codes! Bad news. AutoFix did 5 major repairs for me totally $1600 and got me back on the road quickly. My vehicle is now running awesome! He usually changes our oil but the price on the coupon was even less than what he could change it for! We went for both of our cars. Every guy we met that worked there had the best attitude, we're all SO helpful and professional. I spoke with the mechanic himself in his shop about car troubles and he was very honest about problems and cost. Was told it was a simple repair so I agree to the repair . the next day warning light is back. Hmmmm. I received a text message regarding my experience. I replied that I was still having the same problem and their repair did not work. Still waiting for an answer back. I am also still waiting for a quote that they said they would provide regarding another repair they said was necessary. No one ever called me back so I finally contacted them back out of a courtesy.
