I'm only giving a 1 star because .... -They paid for me an Uber to go back home, while they assessed my vehicle. -They waived the $250 assessment fee, after I pointed out that was not discussed with me. -They sent a cool video, explaining what they said my vehicle needed. -They washed the exterior of my vehicle. -The person (Amanda) who was working w me was extremely nice! ---------- They would get a 0 because.... -They wanted to charge me an astronomical fee ($2,673) for what they said needed to be done. Another shop quoted $1220 for exact same job. Big difference in price! -After assessing my vehicle at another shop, they said I didn't need all the work the Subaru place noted. It was confirmed, that Darrell Waldrip Subaru was going to charge me for work that wasn't required. The other shop only charged $895.58 to fix everything. BEWARE OF A SCAM I have paperwork to prove the above. I will avoid taking my vehicle back to this place at all cost (literally speaking!) I didn't trust dealership services before, definitely don't trust them now! took my Subaru in to get oil change after an hour waiting on my car I looked outside and saw my car parked in a parking lot so the guy was with someone so I thought he would tell my my car was ready , he didn't after another 15 minutes waiting I finally went to the desk to ask about my car she told me they just finish and it would be a few moments so being there an hour and a half the guy rung me up and took me to my car that was in the parking space that had been there for over 30 minutes. my car was done in a hour and I had to wait another 30 minutes along with them lying to me when I went to the counter to check on it. I stopped by to test drive a new outback. The place is easy to spot and safely pull into. I parked in the front and went to pull up some cars on my phone. While doing so, about 5 different salesmen stood feet away behind my car and on occasion looked directly inside at me through my side windows. It was incredibly off putting. Their website wouldn't allow me to close a pop up on iOS. So, I was unable to view their inventory myself. Very poor web design. I would give zero stars if possible. VERY, very frustrated with what I thought was the best of the Subaru dealerships in my area. I have been a Subaru owner for almost 10 years and was considering buying my fifth in a row. However, I made the TERRIBLE mistake of scheduling an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation for my outback on a Tuesday. I arrive for my appointment and am told (after my car is driven off) that it will be TWO HOURS. With an appointment. I am then shuffled into a tiny space crammed with at least 25 people if not more. Not only will I not buy any future car I get from this place but after several years of getting both of my current Subarus serviced here (and driving over 30 miles to do so), I will never return here for service. I thought the rudeness and thoughtlessness I'd experienced at the other area dealerships was awful, but this experience tops those. Do better! read more

Todays Facebook ad showing 0.9% interest on new Subaru. Wife and I went in today to buy a new car. Last oil service they gave us a flyer telling us what they would give us for our car on trade in. They offered us $7,000. less than on the flyer and said the 0.9% interest did not apply to new cars. Read the ad in the picture. After having my 2020 Subaru Forrester installed with new brakes, oil change tire rotation, and fluid flush from another business, I had check engine and sensor lights issues. I took it to Darrel Walltrip Subaru today to have all the issues addressed. Including a driver side window that wasn't working properly. The customer service technician assigned to me was Ellis Roberts and I have to say he was amazing! He checked on me several times throughout the day on the process as it took many hours to complete the repairs. And he did let me know that upfront, which was very nice and courteous and told me that he let them know I was going to be waiting for the repairs that day so he ensured to make it priority so I could get it done ASAP . If I could personally request his assistance again in the future I would! And I highly recommend this Subaru dealership for repairs. I will never take my Subaru to any other place but this dealership and this one is close to me, and I am grateful for it because I will be a loyal customer. I love my Subaru and plan to have it for practically forever! Thank you, Darrel Waltrip staff, including Diana, a customer service representative who was super personable. The Darrell Waltrip Subaru is one of the best in the area for their friendly and prompt service. We bought a previously owned vehicle here, and the personnel who helped us out were really thoughtful considering we were first time buyers. Granted, buying a car is an arduous process regardless of where you go, but the sellers here were more than happy to hear out our questions and offer reasonable add-ons when available. In purchasing our vehicle, we also received a series of complimentary oil changes and mechanical check-ups. Upon heading into the dealership for our first service on this vehicle, the visit went incredibly smoothly. My vehicle was received at their drive-in dock, someone immediately came to check on and welcome me, and I was asked to wait in their lounge area which also provides free wi-fi as well as coffee. I had an appointment at 7:30am, and I was out of the dealership in less than 30 minutes for an oil change. This was so quick and easy, so if you have a Subaru, I recommend driving out a bit more to this dealership for service. Everyone has been so kind and thoughtful here. I have a door leak where the water gets inside the door every time it rains or I wash the car. The dealer had my brand new 2022 Outback for three visits totaling 24 days in the shop. Then they tried to tell me that the water is supposed to get inside the door. It now leaks worse than ever. last week I called and made an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. I asked if they could look and see why the engine appeared to be skipping and they made an appointment for 11:30 am the following week. when I took it in they told me that they might need to keep it overnight because they were very backed up. Over 5 hours to Change the oil and check for an engine miss? In my opinion the car is a lemon and the service dept. is pathetic. read more

I made an apt for an oil change, a headlight and an issue with my sunroof. I pulled in promptly @ 8:30 and was ushered to Taylor Jones, in the service area. I was warmly greeted and let him know that I needed to cancel the oil change part as my son needed a ride from the airport. I was quoted a charge for evaluation as far as the sunroof went and of course the fee for the headlight. Taylor had me walk out to my car with him where he quickly and deftly reattached the "accordion" section of the roof, explaining why and how he could do that. Then he went into the parts section of the service area and came out with the bulb that he devised I would need. He popped it in and said "you're all set and I'm not going to charge you for any of this. Now you can be at the airport to pick up your son." I was gobsmacked and so grateful that he even waived the standard evaluation fee. I always have an amazing experience making the trip from Mt Juliet worthwhile. read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. I went there to get my car fixed because my air conditioner needed replacement and they "found" a slew of issues that would total to $9k in repairs. I declined everything because I wanted a second opinion. I went to my trusted dealer back home (I'm in college) and they basically said the only thing that needs attention is my air conditioner. This dealer seems to red flag any potential issue and essentially makes you think that your car needs all of these repairs. This is predatory and wrong. NEVER GO HERE UNLESS! read more

I highly recommend that you give this place a chance. I've been going to Darrell Waltrip Subaru for car repairs for years. They have excellent service, a very high track record of success with any issues I've encountered with my 2005 Legacy, and they are very fair in the rare instance where a valiant effort doesn't quite fix the issue on the first try. My service agent is Taylor, and he goes above and beyond. He's great at listening about specific, sometimes nuanced, issues and communicating between the customer and the mechanics (who also do great work). This is a case where you might pay just a little more than average, in general, but you get more than what you pay for (excellent service, actually fixing the problem, transportation assistance if you need it, etc.). read more

I can't write a scathing enough review. We were in town from Chicago for my mother's funeral. It was time for the 90,000 mile service on our Forester so we decided to get it serviced in Franklin, before driving back to Chicago. First of all, this dealership charges $100 more than our dealer in Chicago for the same service. Why? But okay, fine. Then the mechanic there told us we needed over $3000 worth of work replacing the "control arms" and that the "bushings were shot." We decided to get a second opinion and our trustworthy mechanic in Chicago confirmed there is absolutely nothing wrong with either control arm and the bushings (whatever those are) look great! TLDR; Also, our car drove noticeably worse after being serviced than it did when we took it in (brakes shaking, alignment felt off). My husband demanded the manager explain why the car would be suddenly driving badly after they serviced it. A manager at Darrel Waldrip Subaru said possibly the suspension had gotten messed up when they put the car on the lift. To his credit, he then took the car for a drive and determined that the brake pads were suddenly warped (when they hadn't mentioned that before and they hadn't shown any signs of being warped to us driving it). He had them smooth the brake pads out (good manager), but no one could explain how or why that happened. And frankly, I wouldn't trust this place with a car wash. read more

I was excited to try a new dealer by my new home, people were nice to me when I dropped it off and my wife when she picked it up. Here is thinks, I am particular about about my cars and cabin filters get changed every 10k. Just so happen I changed it the day prior....now the bait and switch. They tried to talk me into getting a new one saying it was filthy. The part is less than $10 and with everything they wanted about $60. Sad they rip people off like this this. I have a Honda, Subaru, and Volvo, so all go to Waltrip in Franklin. When I took the Subaru for an airbag recall, they returned it to me with a broken mirror adjustment switch, broken vent on drivers side, and one of the windshield posts cover not attached. Since then the other post cover fell off. When I complained they said they would order parts to repair all the things that they broke. It took 3 months for them to get the mirror switch and replace, and they never repaired the vent nor the side posts. After a year plus, both of the windshield sideposts covers come off all the time, sometimes fall in my face while driving!! Not a careful shop, left my car in disrepair. Don't get me started what they did to my Volvo, but since they've lost the Volvo dealership I'll let that one slide for now, but suffice to say it was a worse experience!!! read more

I feel funny writing a review for this place as I am not a customer and likely won't ever be. I have been here a few times with Dream Girl when she has brought in her Subaru for regular service. She just loves this place and has bought cars from Darrell Waltrip for about 20 years - Honda, Volvo, and Subaru - and has all her maintenance done here. My observations are favorable. The service folk are friendly and knowledeable. The lobby is comfortable with tables available for those who want to work while they wait. I really like the area where you pull your car in. Doors open automatically and in the winter it is comfortable for both employees and customers. BTW, Dream Girl's 2017 Impreza sedan is a great car that I like to drive. It has all the safety equipment available when it was built and it does make driving easier and safer. It's comfortable though it does have a little more road noise than I like. But, my 2002 Lexus RX300 has got a bit of noise, too, as it approaches 250,000 miles. If I wanted a new car, I would certainly look at the Subarus at Darrell Waltrip. read more

BUYER BEWARE!! Read this before you purchase at Darrell Waltrip: I purchased a 2017 Buick Lacrosse Premium: Day 1: Bring home that night (4 mile ride) and there is a scratch in the door. On the ride home the tires are thumping also. I have to bring to the shop because they have to paint the door. Mind you this is a BRAND NEW Car. Also, they state to me you have flat spots in your tires and after 1,000 miles you won't feel them any more.. Really? 2. I come home and then my family notices that the molding is not right and I take it to them.. They said we have to order all new side molding and reinstall.. (This is just a week after the car was purchased). 3. The car has terrible noise in the roof and can't hear music or people when driving. Brought in and they needed to tighten something in the roof. (Once again all within the first few weeks). 4. About 6 weeks in and at around 1200 miles the TRANSMISSION WENT on the car. Yes brand new car I am talking about here. They had to replace the WHOLE transmission. Needless to say I wanted to get the car replaced. The management team at Darrell Waltrip states "We are the dealer and don't make the cars" We fixed what was wrong and we can't do nothing if Buick doesn't want to help us" I believe this is a COP out and using this to wipe their hands clean. So the Lawrence the General Manager states to me.. IF we have ANY I mean ANYMORE problems I will take it up with Buick Myself and get it addressed. Well I am going in this week for the third service issue since that statement and every time I mention his statement he ignores it. To add insult to injury, I went around and looked what I could get for trade in or straight out purchase for the car.. Darrell Waltrip the car dealership I am having issues with in good conscience was giving me 2-3K less than dealers I was visiting. What does that tell you about how they want to take care of their customers?? They know of the issues, they promise to fight for you and they don't.. Then they low ball you on the trade in or buy back.. Can't take a loss or do the right thing. Nope.. They need to make sure its all about them and how it benefits their bottom line first. I had a freak accident in which I destroyed my hydraulic lifters on the back of my Subaru Outback. My car was loaded for an out of town trip and the hatch would not stay open due to the damage or close securely. I called Bryan at Darrell Waltrip and he said even though they were booked up he would work me in. After my arrival, I was in and out in less than an hour! I had an issue with my back hatch lock not functioning and fully expected a lengthy service call. However, my service advisors were able to do an override and it did not require any sort of repair or other intervention on their part. They ended 2022 in a wonderful way for me. Note that the e-mailed survey asked me to share this review after completing it: Scheduled recall work to begin at 7:30AM on 5/2/2016 - Came in and was greeted and service work arranged. The service tech said the appt would take about 40 minutes so I decided to get a ride to work instead of waiting around. I did not receive a call following up on my service but had to contact the service department myself at around 11:30AM and heard back about an hour later that my car had not yet been looked at but would be soon (even though I scheduled a time on the service request site). I received another call around 2PM stating that my car had failed the recall check and that I would need to come back to get a rental car. Rental car process went fine (aside from having a lower quality car than what I brought into the dealership, that I had to drive over to the rental car place, inspect the car in the rain, etc). I hear nothing from the service department so I call in at 5:15PM on Friday 5/6/2016. Car is ready, come pick up car. I accelerate onto highway 65 roughly half a mile from the dealership and immediate I hear a pop and feel a loss of boost which causes my car to go into 'limp-home mode'. Note that this was less than 10 minutes after leaving the dealership. Come back to the dealership, no Subaru techs are available so I have to take the rental car home. The only good part of this interaction with the dealership was that I received a call first thing on Saturday morning that my car was ready. They had found that the dealership had not securely re-connected the blow-off valve when the recall work was being performed. Luckily there seems to be no immediately noticeable damage to the car but I find it completely unacceptable that this could happen at a dealership. read more

My wife and I purchased a Subaru from DWS in June. The salesman was great and we love the car. We live in Georgia and we were promised that the paperwork we would need to register the car in Georgia would be sent to us in the next couple weeks. After nearly 30 days; no paperwork. When my wife finally called them, she was told the paperwork had just come in. DWS overnighted it to us. But by that time, 30 days had passed and we had to pay $117 dollars in late fees. We think it is highly coincidental that the day my wife called, the paperwork "had just come in". What would have happened had we not called? In my July 23 letter to Sales Manager Marquardt, I asked him to reimburse us for the late fees. As of today, August 13, my letter has gone unacknowledged by Mr. Marquardt or anyone at DWS.
