Seemed very unprofessional and just detached like he couldn't care less what you were saying.

Unfortunately, I couldn't do that this year because my family and I were traveling together in Santa Barbara and Solvang. However, I still got to decide where to go, so I decided to find the nearest record store after our lunch. This is the first one that popped up on my Yelp search, and I can see why. This place isn't that big but carries some really hard to find items, at least the stuff that I like. I found some old records from the 80s that I couldn't find at any other place near where I live. I found Ministry's "With Sympathy" and Stryper's "Soldiers Under Command." There were many other rare items that I wanted to buy but I had to keep my my budget in check. Store was well organized by genre. The owner was friendly and fun to talk to. Will have to come back here on my next visit to Santa Barbara. Because my kids were with me, I couldn't spend too much time in the store. I will just send my wife and kids to the museum across the street while I browse here.

It is off the beaten path, on De la Guerra street, almost across from the Santa Barbara Historical Museum. We have been coming here for about 15 years when in town. It's not big and never crowded, so you'll be able to browse at your own leisure and check out their vinyl, CD, tape collections for sale. Decent prices and good condition of the items. My husband found a cool CD soundtrack in here. Nice customer service, calm shopping experience, love the cute space!

Much to my consternation, I recently experienced the dreaded Windows "blue screen of death" on my 3…read moreyear old desktop PC. After several futile attempts at bringing the computer back to life, I called Scott Carpenter aka "Mr. Pink, the Computer Shrink" and described what the symptoms were. Scott was very helpful and patient in discussing various causes and remote fixes, to no avail. I then dropped the box off at Scott's for more advance trouble shooting and within an hour, Scott had called to advise me that the hard drive had died and could not be resuscitated . Scott then provided me with the specs for a replacement hard drive, and suggestions as to where I might buy one for a reasonable price. He also gave me the option of installing the new hard drive myself, or having him perform the task. I picked up the new hard drive and dropped it off at Scott's the next morning for him to do the installation. Later the same day, Scott called to advise that the new hard drive was installed, everything was working fine and the PC was ready for pick up. Scott also re-loaded my Windows 7 OS and additional utilities. Scott also gave me suggestions on how to correctly restore all of my data (which I had backed up on Carbonite, thank goodness!!) and re-load other aps. A few days later, Scott checked in with me via e-mail to make sure everything was going in smoothly. I found Scott to be very knowledgeable and customer oriented, and it was a pleasure working with him and his wife, Stacy. I prefer, when possible, to support smaller local businesses, and my experience with Mr. Pink, the Computer Shrink confirmed the wisdom of my preference. Great service, prompt turn around, helpful and friendly...what more can one ask for?
