Sometimes you have to go twice to appreciate it. The first time, I wasn't in love with my order. The second time, it really hit the spot. The food is very fresh tasting and plentiful and I would say it's Mediterranean inspired. I ordered the chicken plate. I got tasty crispy seasoned chicken cut on some delicious yellow rice, which came with a simple side salad and hummus and fresh pita. What a deal! The staff is always friendly and nice and the place is clean and bright. I would come here more often if it was closer to the office. Glad to finally checkout this cozy spot in Downtown. The place is small but full of warm ambience. Staffs were very kind even when we went close to their closing time. We got the Octopus and Chicken Plates. Both were made super fresh! Great portion for the prices as well. Each plate came with delicious creamy hummus, salad, and some of the toastiest pita bread I've had! The seafood option came with squid ink rice while the non-seafood ones had saffron rice. I really enjoyed both proteins as they're very well-cooked but did like the chicken a bit more. The squid ink rice was a tad too fishy for me as well. Raising to a 5-Star. I eat here at least once a week. Every lunch option has been above par, some stellar. I had low expectations of the tacos, but they surprised and delighted. And today was the first time experiencing the superb brisket plate with excellent mashed potatoes. Salads are ample, but wish they would enhance the greens. Maybe a combo of butter lettuce and arugula. The plates are what to get: warm crisp pita, a generous serving of creamy hummus, tasty greens with sliced onions topped with a tangy dressing, another side, and the main feature (salmon, brisket, etc.) Breakfast is their "weak" offering, nothing bad, but unmemorable. On packed days they remain efficient, the food comes out fast and employees are calm and friendly. Awesome place. read more

This is one of my favorite places to go to in Portland. If you're staying nearby, get lunch here! I love to get their seafood salad plate which comes with tuna, shrimp, salmon, and octopus. They also include squid ink rice, pita, and salad. Wow! The seafood is perfectly cooked and grilled with so much flavor. The octopus is my fave and such a surprise. The rice is tender and all the flavors and sauces make for such a perfect meal. I got this twice during my time near here (2 days in a row) just because it was that good. They cooked everything perfectly, and I love how large their plates are. All their employees are so friendly too. It's not a large place, but I could tell from the aroma and the menu that the food was going to be good. Everything on their menu sounds good but I went with the gyro plate and a vanilla latte. The lady who took my order was super helpful and extremely kind in helping me to consolidate my order into the gyro plate. The food....best pita and hummus I have ever had! The gyros and the tzatziki sauce I could eat all day! The sale looked regular but the dressing on it gave it a unique taste, a bit of olive oil and lemon taste. The vanilla latte was average but I should have gone with my first gut and ordered a con panna. This is a true hidden gem by the riverfront. The service is always warm, friendly and super duper fast. There isn't much seating as it appears to be more of a take out spot. We come here for one thing and one thing only, their seafood special salad. In my opinion, the best combination of value and taste in Portland. Wish I could tell you more about the menu, but the special is so good that we can't muster ourselves to try anything new! All of the seafood is cooked perfectly, no chewy fish or octopus here, and the squid ink rice is delicious. Reliable (IMO) lunch spot tucked amongst the high rises of downtown Portland. Yea, it's a tiny space, kind of like a deli but more kitchen-y, carved into the bottom floor of a giant office building, but the food options are pretty diverse, with a full slate of salads, sandwiches, gyros, shrimp, occasional interesting specials like lamb shank, etc - that are surprisingly above par, and if you're pulling jury duty at the nearby courthouse, like we were, you'll be glad to have this place as a better destination than a food cart and with a fairly warm and comfy ambiance for an office bldg carve-out. Service is amazingly calm and friendly even during the lunch crush -- It gets super-crowded around noon when the office minions escape their cubicles --- and there is table seating but it's pretty limited. The gyro I ordered was super tasty and filling, and the price more than reasonable considering the portion size. I prefer GM to all of the national chains here and I prefer it to anything you can get at any of the nearby carts, food halls, and restaurants like Luc Lac for lunch. I typically gravitate towards their Salmon Plate. I love the squid ink rice that it comes with along with hummus, pita, and a side salad. The salmon is pan fried and pretty tasty and well cooked. Went here during lunchtime and it was wasn't too busy! I was specifically looking for a Mediterranean place in the area, so I was happy to find this one. I ordered a chicken gyro plate with fries on the side (I didn't realize fries would also be IN the gyro) and hummus with pita and veggies. The food was alright, nothing special. The hummus plate came with a TON of hummus, which was great, but I wish it would have come with more pita bread. The veggies were cooked (soft) and IN the hummus, so I couldn't use those to scoop hummus. I ended up with a lot leftover because I didn't want to eat plain hummus with a spoon. Forgot to take pictures of everything, but it was a lot of food. I ate it for two meals and didn't finish everything. read more

They also have very delicious sandwiches too! Their fries are amazing if you like thin and crispy. The portion sizes are pretty good and they only offer bottled drinks. The rice was cold but the rest of the food (chicken) was great. They did mix up my friends order and mine (put parts of our order on the wrong plates) but not a big deal. The Hummus is pretty good and they give you plenty.
