Daily special: seabass nigiri and marinated Irish makerel nigiri sushi
    Zhicao F.

Visited again on April 20 and as always very satisfied with everything. As usual, the signature fried chicken karaage came with crunchy dough and super juicy meat. One bite and the meat juice literally bursted out. Both daily special nigiri sushi were very nice. Seabass tasted bouncy and savory, almost like drinking freshly filtered sea water. Marinated makerel had pleasant vinegar mouthfeel and buttery texture. Yuzu highball was another pleasant surprise. Sweet fruitiness was perfectly balanced by the sea salt foam to create a complex flavor profile.

We picked Daruma on a whim for our last dinner in Dublin & we hit the jackpot. What an incredible spot. - Unique craft cocktails - Truly authentic Japanese food - Super fresh fish* - Delectable miso soup** - Cool, hip vibe (but not too pretentious) - Unforgettable service*** *We tried the omakase (chef's choice) sashimi plate & were not disappointed. It's a treat to have the task of decision making taken away from you. We thoroughly enjoyed every piece of fish. **I ordered it once, finished it, then ordered it again. So good. ***We had so much fun with Souto. We exchanged stories, laughed a lot, & told him he's always welcome to visit us in America. He also taught us quite a bit about sake, & we were convinced to try a bottle. Loved it! What a great meal made even better by a great human connection. 5/5 - Will go down as one of my favorite meals out, ever!

Amazing sushi and small plates near Temple Bar. The sashimi and nigiri were excellent, especially the wagyu. Great selection of sake and cocktails, and the service was prompt and courteous. We stopped in for a light lunch and were very satisfied with several small plates and some sushi. Would love to return for dinner!

Absolutely amazing! In the US we're used to different sushi with lots of sauces and such. This was just the basics and delicious. Our favorite was the A5 Hida Wagyu and Salmon Hosomaki. Our server was the best. I would suggest this place to anyone wanting a great sushi experience in Dublin.

The staff happily took out their awning to block the sun so we could enjoy the shade. Ordered the chicken teriyaki bento and fried octopus. I was nervous to try the eggplant but it turned out to be the most DELICIOUS eggplant I've ever had and I hate eggplant! The chicken was juicy and nothing was left in the bento when we left! Definitely will come back in the future!

Macho sake was kind of like a sparkling wineNe

Usually, the dining room comprises an underground hideaway that is quite sleek and intimate. However, due to the lockdown measures, we had to do outdoor seating directly on William Street while we were there. The experience was still beautiful, thanks to the surrounding scenery. The cocktails were grand between the P61 Signature Cocktail and the Hugo -- both prosecco-based cocktails. The former was delicious between the peach puree and prosecco, while the latter was a little more tart with the elderflower cordial. For dinner, we kicked things off with gluten-free bread with a trio of dips that were quite tasty. The Tortellini I ordered was exquisite and scrumptious with how it was prepared between the goat cheese, asparagus, red onion, wilted spinach, cream sauce, and bacon. I applauded this lovely dish with the last bite. I devoured the warm almond flour brownie for dessert, served with chocolate sauce and gelato, which my wife could also enjoy since the dish was gluten-free. Overall, Platform 61 was a great way to conclude our second Irish journey. We will return, especially to enjoy the underground dining area.

The ambiance is very nice as well, romantic but also good for a fun night out with friends. 10/10 recommend adding this to your itinerary for dinner!

Something must have changed drastically in the establishment because I was simply astonished at the…read morecombination of how bad & mediocre my dining experience was. For starters it was some of the worst service I have ever encountered and certainly the worst service for a Michelin Bib Gourmand. For starters my server was ill acquainted with the menu. She had no idea what the cheese foam was other than it was served in a bowl. She brought a wrong starter and insisted I ordered it when I did not. I ordered my steak to be medium it came rare. By the time my main entree had arrived I was exhausted from dealing with this rude, combative and surly individual. The plate of still mooing meat didn't help. I just asked to take it home. Nope, she said we don't pack anything to go. I asked for the manager at that point who pack up my meal and I was finally free to escape from restaurant hell. As for the food, Bread, Cheese foam, Argentinian Steak, It was average and overpriced. And all the bread was easily day old. One and done. Spare yourself the one and just be done.

Asked the waitress what they were known for and she rattled off 3 items which I ordered. Got bread with black garlic butter/ Hungarian Striploin and Blue Macha Seabass. Bread was fine but second dish served in oyster shells so I thought they brought the wrong dish? Just ok they said. The Seabass was good I got the check and couldn't wait to get outta there! Super busy and I don't know why.. maybe Millennials like the concept but I did not. Talk later
