I just visited this cleaner to drop off a couple of shirts. After giving the male attendant my name, phone number and email, he then asked for my date of birth. I questioned him as to relevance and asked if he was conducting an FBI check. He became annoyed and told me that he did not have time for this. He said that he was far too busy in the back. He went on to say that people don't understand that "we send birthday greetings". Then I suggested that he preface the question with a reason why he was asking to avoid confusion. He said that I needed to prepay with cash only. I told him that I would be using a debit card. His response was, "Do you want to pay me 5 percent?" I said no and took back my shirts and left. Dry Cleaners So, I read the reviews and well, there are very limited options in PSL for dry cleaners it seems, so I decided to give Darwin Eco Cleaners a try. Customer service: the guy working there is extremely nice. Price: as others mentioned, holy-moly this place is expensive. Like $10 a shirt for dry cleaning and $8 for laundering. Staggeringly high. I inquired about it and we discussed it but at the end of the day, there are very few options for this service unless you want to drive. Turn-around time: 1 week. Yes, it is long, and frankly, I have a million shirts but if you are limited to the depth of your closet, you might want to go to plan B and wash them yourself if having them on-hand is a requirement for you. They did a very nice job on my linen shirt so even though it cost roughly half of what I paid for the shirt, it was / is a dazzling white when I got it back. ***CLIENTS BEWARE*** Stay as far away from this place!!! My wife took 12 of my shirts to be dry cleaned here. She specifically explained to the owner of the store to starch and press all of the shirts. He explained it would take about a week and that they would be ready the following Monday. My wife came in to pick up my shirts the following Tuesday. When she got home, I went to inspect the shirts and to my surprise, it was done terribly!!! First of all, non of the shirts were starched as requested. They smelled horribly and some even still had stains that can easily be taken off by my own washing machine. The pressing on the shirts were not done at a professional level and they didn't even button up the shirts entirely. I have had dry cleaning done prior with many other companies and I have never experienced such a horrible job. To top it off I find out that I am missing one of my shirts. I called the shop and asked for the owner. After explaining my situation, he immediately got defensive and began laughing and insulting me. He would not let me speak and was extremely unprofessional. He ended up hanging up on me after a back and forth and never picked up his phone after that. He was rude, angry, defensive and utterly unprofessional. Even if a customer is wrong, you treat your clients with respect. There are tons of review on this man on google attesting to the complaints I am making since it has happened numerous times. The owner is clearly disrespectful in the events of conflict. I lost 80$ on dry cleaning and a $120 dress shirt. Save your money and your time. This place is not only horrible at what they do but also extremely unprofessional. Business owners like this one should not be in business. I read all the reviews and was surprised because I honestly believe those that rated this Dry Cleaning less than 4 star will never be pleased. I have gone to Drycleaners closer to my home and lost clothing, or clothing especially white came out totally discolored and ruined. Why? because they do NOT have in house cleaning facilities! All of previous cleaners send one's garments to another facility i.e. Stuart!. It is like a shot in the dark how the item is cleaned and if lucky, done to your entire satisfaction The couple who own Darwin Cleaners and have all work done on premise, need to be recognized for many traits! 1. They not only do everyday items but do it with care. 2. They are extremely professiona and go out of their way to ensure the client is satisfied. 3. Their pricing is understandable, like all businesses, location is the key. Pricing is reflected as they are in a storefront whereby landlords charge higher rents, both tenant and landlord refer to this as the cost of having a business and running it with profit. We all have choices. You get what you pay for! I have designer clothing, not bragging..just explaining, none of my items have been ruined, dresses coming from designers all over the world. Stains removed from Bulberry silks, alterations done to perfection and best yet, EVERY item handled with care! This couple at times bend over backwards for time constrictions and I never get sticker shock on their pricing but quality cleaning is very very hard to come by. You dont know me but I tell you from experience, Darwin Cleaners can compete with those Cleaners on the Island of Palm Beach very nicely!!! So after picking up my alterations from the cleaners I was perplexed by the reviews left by other clients. Jack is a very upfront and courteous guy. When taking the measurements for my alterations he was very precise about what I wanted. I had a few dress pants altered at the waist and one tapered to match another pair. I needed one pair back fairly quickly and he was able to rush the order for me and I had it back in 2 business days. I accidentally thought I had them dry cleaned (which I didn't, just altered) and after bringing this up Jack was very understanding and simply explained I didn't request that service but immediately offered to dry clean the pants for me; FOR FREE! Again I cannot understand the negative reviews. I highly recommend this establishment as Jack and his wife provide EXCELLENT customer service. DON'T GO HERE! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! I wish I could give 0 stars - the disrespect I received was DISGUSTING & APPALLING. Not only was one of my pieces STILL DIRTY (as you will see in the attached pictures), but the staff was RUDE & unhelpful. After dropping my clothes off, I was informed that they would be ready the next Tuesday. When I went back the next THURSDAY I went at 9 am and no one was there, the door was locked although their sign says they open at 8:30, so that was a waste of my time and gas. (Another lady was also trying to drop her clothes off, she even called their number and their was no answer). I went back around 11 am and someone was FINALLY there. When I gave them my name, they said my clothes were not ready "because of an issue with their broiler on Wednesday". Although this didn't make any sense because my clothes should have been ready on TUESDAY, I said I'd come back. (Another waste of my time and gas). I returned a couple days later. Upon returning, I paid, got my clothes and started to walk out. Something told me to check my clothes before I left. When I started to take the clothes out to check, only THEN the lady in front started to say "I'm so sorry but there are some stains that I wasn't able to get out". So I asked "why didn't you tell me before I started to walk out?" She starts getting frazzled and says "we can't guarantee to get out every stain, its on our sign", and starts giving me all these excuses. After that, I asked how much did they charge for each piece of clothing. She says to me "I'm not sure, I don't know how much he charged you. I know that this piece is more, and your total was $45, so you can just do the math and figure it out". I said "how can i figure it out, if one costs more than the other?" After that she made up some numbers and told me. In my head I'm thinking, how does she not know what the prices are???? But I left it alone, I said "ok", and so she started to walk away to work on something else. Of course, I'm displeased because I feel like I've just spent almost $50 WITH NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT. After she leaves, I was looking for a sign in the shop that says "no guarantee" and she comes back to ask if everything is ok. At this point, a man from the back comes up and steps in. He starts raising his voice at me saying "WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? WHAT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND? ANY DRY CLEANERS YOU GO TO WILL BE THE SAME! This is when I was REALLY APPALLED. I said "sir, why are you yelling at me? I was asking a simple question." He says "YOU'VE BEEN ARGUING WITH HER FOR OVER 15 MINUTES". At this point, I'm like, this guy is really crazy because I haven't been in here for that long and we were definitely not arguing. So I just decided to leave it at that; as i started picking up my things to go, I asked him what his name was. He says to me "HAVE A GOOD DAY" and stormed away. THIS PLACE IS UNRELIABLE.
