Love this place! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I enjoy having the option to sit indoors or on the patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The gyro plates and bowls are delicious, and the rice pudding is my absolute favorite! They also have a great variety of food options for picky eaters, and my kid loved their chocolate cake slice. The board games are such a fun touch, and the beer is the cherry on top. Great spot for the whole family!

I really liked that this place offers both German and Mediterranean dishes -- such a unique combination! We ordered takeout, and the staff was friendly. Jäeger Schnitzel Plate (Veal): The crispy meat and rich sauce went perfectly together! I loved that the schnitzel was generously covered in sauce because it was so flavorful. On the other hand, the mac and cheese had a simple taste and was a bit dry. They also have cakes, so it's a nice spot whether you just want coffee or a full meal.

Solid German food. Schnitzel was perfectly cooked and the eggplant was tasty and fried well, though the salt was a bit inconsistent. It was paired with a delicious mushroom sauce. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a good spot to grab a beer and chill.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've tried food here a couple times. Most recently I ordered the spicy chicken schnitzel. It was crispy and reminded me of katsu. The portion was huge but I found chicken quite plain even with the spicy sauce. The lingonberry gave it a boost with some contrasting sweetness. I thought the spatzel was pretty nice. The menu is huge. I would give the gyro or doner a try whenever my next visit might be.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The beer garden has picnic style benches with umbrellas which makes it nice and casual to eat outside with friends and family.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There may be the occasional noise from the Caltrain as it is located very close to the station, but it doesn't take away from the experience in my opinion.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ordering drinks and snacks is very convenient as you order through your phone, and the wait staff comes out with your order. The waiter we had was an older man who was very friendly and made a few jokes as small talk as he handed off our food and drinks (turkish tea, pretzel, draft beer/cider). For entrees, you must order inside and you are greeted with a large menu of turkish/german cuisines. While I would come again for the draft beers and beer garden vibe alone, I had to try the pretzel. It appeared to be a pretty authentic bavarian soft pretzel from looks alone, and the texture was soft with a bit of a solid crust. It was not overly salted, and the best part is the pairing with the sweet mustard, which is a bit hard to find in the area. One of the best quality pretzels around.

Large outdoor space on the corner of the street to put down a few liters. I went with the Schnitzel, Pretzel and Lamb Souvlaki. On a nice day, sitting outside on the benched tables underneath umbrellas is wonderful. Happy Hour beer is also a bonus.

This place is such a nice place for a few beers and catching up with friends! There are more than 20 beers on tap and this place is a hodgepodge of a bakery, German restaurant (drinking food & snacks), and Beer Garden. You can order in the front or at your table and the beers get brought to you promptly. Seating is great, since there are many shaded spots and is goos for group up to six. People even bring their kids and the restaurant provides board/card games to play. Fantastic place! read more

I went two nights in a row to make sure I got a decent taste of the menu. Not the most authentic flavors for German food, but does hit the spot. I used to go to Germany every summer, so I have had a lot of food from Germany. The curry wurst was not what I'm used but still good! The sausage was much more dense like a summer sausage (almost like salami). The sauce had good flavor but was thicker than it should be. Cane with decent sour kraut and fries and bread roll. A lot of food! I'd give it a 3.5 stars. The chicken schnitzel and spaetzle was pretty good! Perfect crunch for the schnitzel and the flavor was nice. The spaetzle was a little undercooked, but my husband liked it that way so it worked for him. The cheese that you would normally have it on it was more like alfredo, but it still went well together. I would give this 4 stars and my husband said he would definitely get it again (as would I). The doner plate was really tasty! A lot of food. Came with salad, super yummy buttery rice, and the most soft delicious pita bread I had ever had! The flavor of the meat was done very well. I would definitely order this again and give it a 4.5 stars. It's missing .5 of a star because the sauces were not the typical ones you would get fromTurkey. In some parts of Germany, a lot of Turkish people live there, so there are lot of doner places in those areas. Lastly, my husband got the fish and chips, and he said they were good. I didn't try them, so I can't rate them myself. All the beers are delicious. I tried most of the beers on the menu and there wasn't any that I hate. The Pilsner is wonderful and the Kolsch. My husband really likes their stout and I agree is it good! Lastly, I got the truffle cheesecake and it was like heaven in my mouth. I would come here just for that! It was not too sweet, had wonderful flavor, and a dense creaminess. I really wanted to try the black forest cake, but it was gone both nights I was there. The ordering system is pretty easy. Although you cannot order flights from their app. I felt pretty safe and distance enough from other people. Lastly, all the servers are very friendly. Overall, I would definitely come back here! This German beer garden came about in 2020, and since then it has been one of my favorite spots in mountain view. The ambiance and abundance of outdoor seating really captures the feeling of European dining. The crowd here always seems happy, the beers the owner stocks are quite tasteful and are of a wide variety. If you're tired of tap lineups flooded with IPA's, this is your place. Their prices are also much more fair than Steins and Ludwig's. That's not even counting their happy hour, where you can purchase $10 boots of fine beer. I'll let you in on a little secret: this place also has amazing sweets. Their cheesecake and french toast is to die for. Come here and you'll see why this place consistently keeps a busy crowd, even in the winter. read more

I was craving a good light crisp beer and a bratwurst. Saw this place opened slightly recently so why not. Looks like they combines Olympus (which im not familiar with) along with the Das Bierhauz menu. The outdoor seating is wonderful. We got the chicken wings (spicy version). Beef bratwurst with onions, pickles, and fries. The Doner Kabab Sandwhich. I had the fruh and my husband had the Weihenstephaner (pils). We enjoyed everything. The beers were light and crisp, the food was great quality. The staff was so very kind and great with recommendations. They wore masks. I will say it comes with the downtown mountain view price tag, but well worth it and we will %100 be back. read more

you order up front, get a number, pick up beers at the bar, and seat yourself. there were tons of orders sitting in the window, so we didnt think to order much food with our beer. there was a skeleton crew for how many ppl were on the patio. we tried the garlic fries but were served regular ones. they corrected this by just spilling garlic oil on top of our previous basket (not tossed or anything). for a 9$ serving of french fries + 20% tip up front for our entire order, we were not impressed. we will only be back for happy hour beer at $5 for 1/2L and $10 for a 1L M-F before 5pm. mostly a European selection of beers. 0 stars for service (basically self serve), 0 stars for food, and 2 stars for plentiful, pleasant outdoor seating + well priced HH beers. read more

Got the cider, pretzel with cheese sauce, and wurst platter. The pretzel was ok, honestly as good as something from wretzel pretzels. The cheese sauce was advertised as melted cheese but it's just spicy nacho cheese sauce for an extra $1.50. The cider was good, the cashier offered a sample. The wurst platter though was bad. It was like $25 for 3 sausages, a hot dog bun, and some onions/sauerkraut. Two of the sausages, the beef ones, tasted like generic hot dog, the kind you get at Costco for $1.50. The veal sausage was awful. It had the texture of mush and was basically flavorless. This platter really should've been around $10. This place would be good if you're going just for drinks and playing board games. If you want to come for wurst, I'd recommend the Costco food court. If you want pretzels anytime Anne's or wretzel pretzels are the same but cheaper! read more

Had such a good time here. Food is delicious nice portions for the price. Nice Beer and Wine selection, not a beer person but man I really like #11 had a nice chocolate flavor. Really nice night time ambiance on a Saturday night. Plenty of outside seating. Board games available to play, I will try that next time. Just a really cool place! I've come multiple times, solo, and with friends, and I've never had a bad experience. The service has always been consistent in the way that this establishment always take care of their guests. Every guest around you is always having a good time. This is a key component that you want to experience in a restaurant setting. Masha took care of me today (and multiple other customers at the same time.) I observed and received nothing short of what is expected in a restaurant setting in Mountain View on Castro Street: Quality service, and great suggestions. I think guests sometimes overlook the novelty of being able to enjoy your time in the establishment you choose to dine at. Folks seem to be in such a rush these days. It's nice to slow down and enjoy the sunshine and hustle/bustle of the world around while enjoying a quality meal and some sunshine or indoors while letting the wind sweep your table top. P.s. if you ever have some issues with your experience--talk to the staff. Don't leave a low quality yelp review. It doesn't help anything besides, perhaps, one's self esteem.

For happy hour, we got their happy hour sampler which included, 2 spaetzle cheese balls, a pretzel with sweet mustard, pickled veggies, and a cheese sausage/brat wrapped in pastry dough. We also ordered some jager fries (fries with mushroom gravy/jager sauce, cheese, and green onions). The wrapped sausage was the standout! We also ordered two half liter beers - I love the selection of German beers and local beers. This being a biergarten, of course we went German. Overall, a beautiful way to spend an afternoon! I would definitely try non-happy hour menu items and try to make my way down their beer list.

I tried some of her fries and they were thin but still crispy. Overall the food at West Oak Nosh was so good and delicious!
