Pasta & I added the pepper I am a weirdo for pepper

Genuinely one of the best meals I've ever had in my entire life. The California bread service with the garlic butter was unreal. Just delicate, beautiful flavors. I also had the pasta allá gricia and it was superb. Gorgeous peas just absolutely beautiful summer flavors that reminded me of my childhood eating peas from my grandfather's garden. The pasta was perfectly cooked. I can't overstate how good this food was. I'm so happy. Thank you to whomever made this food. You're a beautiful person and a legend.

Yes, this place is in a hotel and the initial front entrance feels a bit off but the food was delightful. The servers were super helpful in giving options for food recommendations and drink pairings too. I came here to celebrate a special occasion and they did not disappoint with congratulating me and making me feel welcomed. I'd say the tom kha mussels were the most delicious but we definitely could have used more bread. Unfortunately they said that if we wanted more bread, we'd have to buy another serving. That was a huge bummer. Other than that, I would say I would put all the food at a 4/5 in flavor and 3/5 to account for costs. All said, I'd come back to try new menu options when given the chance .

Tried this place for dinner! Nice cozy ambience, reasonable service! Didnt have that many vegetarian options! Food was quite bland! No chili flakes nor French fries on the menu or in the kitchen! Online menu is outdated! Please check with the server on exact details! Wait can be longer. Didnt have salt pepper on the table as default setup. Kids pasta / noodles were quite bland! Veg burger and the choco cake was the highlight hence the 2 stars ! Def area of improvement.

Food is pretty good with lots of shareable options. My pasta plate was pretty good, with good textures and flavors. I really liked some of the appetizers, though the liver mousse and mussels were a bit gamey for my taste. The presentation of the dishes was quite photogenic. Service was fantastic, and the interior feels pretty fancy, but nothing stood out particularly. Process are reasonable. What I really enjoyed was how easy it was to make a reservation.

Signature old-fashioned was great, I have never seen branded ice before. The restaurant should just get a 10 out of 10 just for that. It has to be a reflection of their Michelin star chef. The chicken adobo is as good as little any little corner spot (iykyk). Bedded into a great sauce, the adobo is sweet, smoky and hearty all at the same time cook to perfection. I don't think that you can go wrong with making this selection. Smash burger was a solid selection, but it wasn't as good as the chicken adobo. Next time we'll make sure to explore more the drink menu and also some of the other items on the food menu.

Ok I was so surprised by this spot. We went here after several drinks at sports page bar across the street to have a bite to eat. They have a beautiful restaurant that's part of the Shashi hotel. They have several specialty cocktails and flights to enjoy. I enjoyed the bolognese This would be a great date night spot, as they also have a piano in the back. Gorgeous bathrooms too

We were guests at the hotel and decided to have dinner at Broma. Excellent food and service in a modern and relaxing vibe. We ordered the beet salad, bread basket, skirt steak, tom kha mussels, and mushroom risotto. All the plates were presented very well and tasted absolutely delicious. Our server, James K, was also wonderful. James was attentive and anticipated our needs in a timely manner. We would come back.

Another unforgettable visit to Broma! Two dishes were extraordinary today: - charred broccoli gnudi: the char is so pleasantly strong that it made my head spin. I've no idea what techniques they use to make gnudi with broccoli but yet so smooth. - lemon cheesecake: the sauce had a delicate balance of acid + bitter to it and made every bite irresistible. If you look at photos in my previous reviews you'll notice an older version of the cheesecake, which was also fantastic, but they just keep innovating and improving. One thing I didn't like today was the eel barbocoa. The skin was impossible to cut through and very chewy. I felt the idea might've worked if they made it bite-sized. Flesh texture and Overall flavor was great, though.

The food here is tasty, but WAY too small and expensive for what it is. I came here with a group last night and everything on the menu sounded delicious, but we all had to go out to eat somewhere else afterwards because all of us were starving when we left. I ordered the Day Boat Scallop Crudo which was very delicious, but about two tablespoons of food at most. The majority of the bowl is just a foam garnish. Even for a high end restaurant, $26 for what arrived on my plate is preposterous. They also advertise this as "shared plates", but there is no way to share many of these dishes because they are so tiny. All of the staff members were wonderful, but I won't be back because of the value.

Tried Broma since I was staying at Shashi hotel and they gave a meal credit. The service was excellent and I hate only giving it 3 stars but the food was just not our taste. Broma is set as Spanish tapas so we had the hamachi crudo small plate which was our favorite plate, though very spicy! We also had the hand formed Cavatelli (large plate) which we didn't like. It didn't have any flavor and we couldn't finish it despite us splitting the dish. For dessert, we had the salted caramel chocolate tart which was good but super rich, thank goodness we split that! We also ordered the flan but it tasted really weird and too strong of orange so we couldn't take more than 2 bites each. All in all, I really appreciate the service and they were really accommodating when they saw we weren't liking the dishes. But I probably won't be back to Broma.

Nice comfortable outdoor space that is pup friendly. Service was meh, took forever to get them to bring us our check - maybe because we were sitting outside vs inside. Food was decent, a tad pricy, drinks were decent. Feels more like a place for work related event vs intimate friends gathering. Total came to approx $80/person.

Broma was in my list for quite a while even before we moved to Mountain View but never got around to make so once we became locals we decided it was a must to go and try Broma. We went in around 5:30pm and the place not that busy there were people from the hotel Broma is located at and because there was a concert at Shoreline that day. We started by ordering a Paloma for my wife and a Cantarito. They were both really good basically the Cantarito is a Paloma but swagged out. For appetizers we ordered their Hamachi Crudo and their Tom Kha Mussels. The Hamachi Crudo which was seasonal had stone fruits, cucumbers, cantaloupe, herbs and chili oil but it was lacking salt & acid so the flavors didn't really tie together or came forward together. Tom Kha Mussels were good on flavor basically tased like a seafood Tom Kha soup but the mussels were cold so the broth felt fattier since the fats coagulated and the mussels were chewy, once again I don't mind my food cold I am used to it but my wife need her food at least warm but ideally hot. For our entree we just shared their Skirt Steak plate which is Vietnamese influenced. The stake was cooked medium rare but once again it was a bit cold very tasty and very tender but it was not warm so as we ate the meat became harder to chew. Overall we liked the ambiance, the hotel is beautiful and their outdoor sitting is beautiful also, their drinks were great I feel like that's what saved the experience because I really didn't feel like complaint about the food to them because we are going to give them another try sometime in the future. The prices are a bit steep since the bar and the restaurant are inside of a boutique hotel called the Shashi located right next to Google HQ. For 2 rounds of drinks (4 total), 2 appetizers and 1 entree it was around $180-$200 with tip included. We will give them a try again since their two hot dishes were cold and I will update this review.

I love the Chef who is behind this restaurant and was excited to have watched her in 24 in 24 & Top Chef. I can see why she is a James Beard award winner! I came here recently with three girlfriends, and we shared a variety of dishes, all 5/5! * Avocado Dip + Plantain chips: great combo with plantain chips instead of usual tortilla chips * Wood-fired Eggplant + Carrot hummus, Tzatziki: adored the carrot hummus! * Shrimp Salad - absolutely delicious with crispy shrimp, avocado, quinoa, mandarins in a lime-herb vinaigrette. Outstanding. * Disco Fries: not your average French fries! Loved the pork sausage and pickled red onions, wonderfully tart savory flavor. *Sautéed green beans - next level green beans with a creamy vinaigrette and chopped cashews *Grilled Corn: spiced coconut, cotija and tajin. Delicious! *Red Pepper Bread: melts in your mouth I think we finished everything we couldn't help ourselves. It was so delicious! Really didn't have much room for dessert, but we had to splurge and check it out so we decided to share two plates: *Pandan Flan: I love flan, and this was phenomenal! The pandan caramel paired perfectly with the yogurt crème, and the coconut rice crunch and strawberries added texture. And, the plating was fabulous! *Mango Sticky Rice: the presentation alone was incredible. Best I've ever had. Next level! This is a must! To go along with the incredible food is a beautiful atmosphere that you just want to sit and save her. We had exceptional service as well. I honestly cannot wait to go back. Five stars Chef Stephanie!! I've heard so many good things about the sister restaurant in LA, Girl and the Goat. Definitely worth getting the umami fries as they were seasoned to perfection. A perfect starting side! Horsefeather is a perfect brunch spot to stop by and try in this Old Town and Country Palo Alto plaza. I have never heard of this chain nor in their other locations before and was definitely satisfied afterwards with their great dishes and their aesthetically modern decorated interior. The dishes here are American so you'd get what you typically get for breakfast from scrambles to French Toast, and we ordered the French Toast, the Chicken and Waffles, and a Salad during our visit here. All of what was ordered was perfect and beautifully plated upon arrival and out of all that was ordered, I have to say the chicken and waffles with their matcha butter & syrup was their standout dish. I have never seen matcha infused with butter but it was perfect and complimented the waffle just right. The chicken was fried and juicy inside and the waffle in general was toasted with just the right amount of crisp on the outside and soft interior. French Toast was a definite close contender too, where the toast was still gooey soft as expected and served with syrup & cream on the side. Salad was good but nothing too extraordinary about it. The staff here were all very nice and on a busy lunch day, I was surprised & pretty sure just lucky was able to get a table in less than 10 min on a Sunday. For weekend brunch, Horsefeather is a perfect spot to visit & enjoy the pre-afternoon before enjoying Palo Alto. I would highly recommend checking this place out and will definitely be back for more.

The Cielo Rosa, with mezcal and jalapeño has a lot going on as well. The forager had great mushroom flavor and loved the roasted garlic. The first bites were great- wish they could have kept the crust crispier for later bites. (Heated plate works well) The beet salad was really good. The crushed pistachios really contrasted well with the beets.

A hidden gem This…read moreunassuming restaurant is tucked away in an alley. With a tiny sign denoting the restaurant, not sure if one would be able to find it if they didn't know what they were looking for. The interior feels like a cozy home, with warm lighting and just a few tables, surrounded by bookshelves. You get a clear view of the inner workings of the kitchen and the staff are super friendly. The head chef and wife were also working in the back and come out to greet the customers. The concept is quite appealing - Korean food, reimagined with Western influence. Their ingredients are high quality and many of the vegetables come from the farmers market. The menu when we visited was: *Pearl Trio - Raw oysters and roe on a bed of tapioca. I have never had savory tapioca before, but I really enjoy the pairing. The pearls had just the right amount of bite and absorbed the sauce quite nicely. *Braised pork belly - Extremely tender and glazed with doenjang. *Caviar and razor clam - This was a supplement and I was glad we got it. The base was a pillow of steam egg. The pickles on top paired well with the savory caviar. *Organic chicken and gravy - Probably my favorite dish. Doesn't sound that crazy, but they really executed on the chicken. They injected it with brine so it was very juicy. They also air-dried the skin overnight (kinda like Chinese duck) to create a crispy exterior. The charred green onions on the side was a nice touch *Strawberry tart - The spiral design was eye catching. The strawberries added a nice tart flavor and the sweetness was just right. What I find most impressive is that they change their menu every month. How they maintain the quality despite this change really shows how much work they put into it. And the price point is just a fraction of other fine dining restaurants. I think they are able to do this by keeping the food relatively simple while focusing more on the flavors. I will definitely be coming back to try the other menus.

Just never got around to working a review before. Went early on a Saturday evening recently and was surprised to not have to wait. We split a Bibb lettuce salad that was simple, refreshing and perfect. A tiny pea fritter was the very definition of a small bite, and while it wasn't what I expected, it was crisp and tender. Grilled artichoke was one of the best I have ever had. (Just wish they had been explicit on the menu that it was a half a grilled artichoke). Cocktails were up to their usual high standard -- rye Manhattan for the BF and clarified milk punch for me. I don't get out much these days and I rarely drink alcohol, but is $20 a lot for a cocktail? Or is that normal now? They were great though. BF got the ribeye with morels, which was perfectly cooked and unbelievably tender. I had the burger, which was more exciting than it sounds, dressed with a wild combo of veggies, cheese and bacon while still managing to be harmonious and fresh tasting. Side of fries were crisp and tasty, though not as perfectly hot as I would ideally wish. Because the burger was late coming out, or server (Bernardo I think?) comped us an amazing little dish of vanilla soft serve ice cream with olive oil and sea salt, along with the butterscotch pudding that we ordered. The pudding didn't have the strong butterscotch flavor that I hoped for, but the vanilla ice cream stole the dessert show. OCK isn't a place I can afford often, but I still really like it. I appreciate the creativity of the dishes, the quality ingredients, and the bar. And the old-school shopping center vibe of the Pruneyard is low key festive and garden-like. The interior of the restaurant is kind of standard-industrial modern, but nicely so. Oh, and their glassware is super nice.

All dishes were sub standard save for the squash flower fritters. Milk punch and other cocktails are still worth the visit. Additionally the patio space at night is unmatched in terms of a cozy and perfectly intimate dinner experience. Our server Katherine N was outright hostile and messed up our order on top of having a really rude and unprofessional attitude. Bummer. This used to be the best dining in Pruneyard but its sister restaurant Be.steak.a, as well as Luna and Marafuku Ramen make OCK's bib gourmand look more than undeserved. The rest of the wait staff is lovely, and we look forward to some improvements in the menu intentionality and execution as well as said outlier staff member, as this restaurant has been a favorite in our family for over five years.
