I ventured here for the first time this past weekend with my kid. I've been a fan of Cliff's for the longest time, and simply ventured there. Well - I got to admit - this place had many more adventurous flavors than Cliff's, and I'll probably give them all a shot as time progresses. Pomegranite - nice, smooth, and tangy; I would have expected this to be a sorbet, but no - it was ice cream, and it was good! Chai - it taste like Indian Chai - not the Starbucks stuff, but like...yeah...sweet and a bit of kick to it. Bananas and Oreo - most do vanilla/oreo or chocolate/oreo. I liked the fact my kids liked it and mentally I can tell myself the kids had fruit. And they were not stingy on the cookies; they were some nice, big pieces in here. I'll keep trying more flavors as summer continues. Mango looked interesting, and they had "anise". Whereas Cliff's has stable set of flavors, this ice cream shop looks like they're willing to take chances on flavor. I wonder if they have ginger? =) read more

The best ice cream ever - This time of year try Cinderella's Carriage (pumpkin of course) is delish and so far every flavor I have tried - simply yummy, creamy and fresh. Also, they make great Ice Cream Sandwiches with Pop Tarts - my fav - Red Velvet. My daughters insist I get their Birthday Cakes here every year - and we usually don't have any left for the next day. It's a little pricey, but I would rather have a smaller amount of excellent then a large amount of so-so. Das Creamery is that good. read more

So sad that it took us all summer to make it to this delicious local spot! My husband and I grew up with Denville Dairy and Cliff's and Das' rivals both. Staff friendly. Unique flavors abound, delicious crispy waffle cones. I'd like to think of myself as a chocolate peanut butter ice cream connoisseur -- this one was rich and creamy, with the right amount of peanut butter throughout. There truly is only two words to describe this ice cream parlor; life changing. From the minute I stepped into the small shop I felt at home, like I found the missing piece of my heart I've been searching for since 2002. The flavors are unique and delicious, but the main highlight of the whole business is the mural. Oh, that mural. Every since I laid eyes on the painted wall with ice cream and cows all over I've had one goal. My one goal and wish in life is to be painted on the mural and have the opportunity to be pictured sitting between the owners as if I were apart of the family! The ice cream was fine. I had the village fig which was very tasty. Glad the Dad served it to me because i was not too happy with what I saw with the daughter. She had a side ponytail. When she was scooping for other customers, she would bend down to scoop and her ponytail would land in the ice cream. Totally unsanitary. The other thing is that the MIL wasn't too happy that the guy wanted to charge extra for a cup when her ice cream cone was starting to melt. We thought that was really strange. We've never been charged for an extra cup before. I know having both a cup and cone is not built into the price but how much can an extra cup or cone really cost wholesale - 10 cents? It just seemed like awfully bad customer service. So sick and tired of being nickel and dimed. read more

I went in today with my wife and I got a medium of the espresso cheesecake. My wife ordered a small soft serve twist. There was nothing wrong with the ice cream, it was delicious! The girl who served us was also very kind. However there was something odd going on... I saw down the hallway two people in one of the bathrooms and I think that one of the managers was getting a haircut right in the facilities?? Although it wasn't in the kitchen, I still think that it was very odd and definitely was an off putting experience. read more

My father lives in the Village Green apartments. He said we should walk over to the homemade ice cream parlor nearby. I was skeptical because my father isn't always aware of fresh and quality ingredients. I was pleasantly suprised! I tried two flavors- "sage of maple" and "village fig"- both were delicious! I ended up with the sage- which was made out with organic sage, maple vanilla ice cream, and candied walnuts. It was perfect! Such an interesting combination that tasted real and quite far from artificial or tasteless brands. The staff were super warm, informative, and attentive. They had a variety of different flavors all created with fresh or organic ingredients. This place truly takes pride in their ice cream and it shows! Will definitely come back! read more

Great ice cream but service from the management team isn't too friendly. (The kids that work there are great) Left a 20% tip like always but when I went back in to ask for a sprinkle of sprinkles for my daughter I was charged an extra $0.37. Really??? It wasn't like I was asking for a bag of sprinkles. Just a bit more to keep the sprinkle experience going for her. I recommend bringing your own sprinkles when you come in. But I will say, it's great ice cream. Get the kids cup to keep your carbs down. I think I'll be reducing my 20% tip to 10% to pay for the extra sprinkles. read more

Love this place! Honestly I sort of wrote it off when it first opened. The location has been a few other so-so ice cream places in the past. Just figured it would be more of the same. Ok Cliff's has been a favorite of mine in there area every since we moved to Budd Lake just because of the variety and atmosphere. And after only one visit, I think this place has it beat! My girlfriend and I just stopped there this evening to try it out, and we overwhelmed with all the interesting flavors they had, we couldn't decide on where to start, so the owner walked us through some of the flavors and handed up samples after samples describing what went into each one, and I can't say I didn't love everyone I try! You can taste the difference of the hand made ice cream and the flavors are so delicious and creative I'll have to come back to try some more! Definitely worth checking out and I hope this place is here to stay! Budd Lake could definitely use their own ice cream place and it doesn't get any better than this! Been meaning to stop in for ages. Went in today. I had a cone and he had a shake. My banana Oreo ice cream was tasty and banana-ey. His shake was no good. Didn't even know a milkshake could be bad! It was very thin and watery (not at all suggesting they added water, just using it to be descriptive). It sorta tasted like milk with a lil chocolate soft serve stirred in. It went to waste. Staff was very friendly and the place was spotless. Id return for a cone but I wouldn't waste money on a shake. read more

I love the cotton candy ice cream at Das' Creamery but there are other good flavors you can choose. Not that expensive. But not cheap.
