I use this computer for my work, my writing, and so many important files. Unfortunately I had never backed everything up onto a flash drive. Needless to say, I was freaking out! I found Human Computer because of all the great reviews, and now I completely understand why they have such a great reputation. John was so sweet, kind, knowledgeable, and immediately made me feel like my computer was in good hands. He was able to fix it, get me back up and running, and it only cost me around $85! He even told me that based on how well I've taken care of my computer, it could easily have another five years of life in it. I really appreciated that he wasn't trying to convince me that I needed a new computer or sell me something I didn't need. I also couldn't believe this little shop has been here in Riverside off Van Buren since 1996! There's something really special about finding a small local business that has been around that long and still treats people with genuine kindness. If you have a PC or Mac that needs repair, I absolutely recommend bringing it here. Great service, fair pricing, knowledgeable, and most importantly, someone you feel you can trust. Thank you, John, for saving my computer and basically saving me from a complete panic!

Things you don't see nowadays are all over the wall and shelves serving as decor. You are greeted by a very pleasant gentleman who gets right down to business and lets you know a price and estimated time to get your property back. I definitely appreciated that. We came to an agreement. The following day I received a call that my laptop was ready. I was pleasantly surprised to receive it a day earlier. He gave me back the old screen as well. So far the repair has been amazing and have had no issues. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for any type of computer repairs/issues. Thank you human computer.

Highly recommended. Crashed an internal hard drive that had significant data on it that I had,…read moreirresponsibly, not backed up to any other sources. The damage I did to the drive required Five Star's clean-room service, and they quoted a flat rate to me in advance. The effort of recovering the data ended up being very challenging and took longer than any of us expected, but at the end Five Star was able to recover over 99% of the files--and I'm happy to say, the 1% of files were not important to me, so the 99% they recovered covered everything I needed. Despite that significant extra work, they invoiced me only for the original quoted amount. I'm happy with the results but also the professionalism. When I first reached out to Five Star, they got back to me at the start of the next business day and, after answering a few follow-up questions, I had a quote and scheduled to drop off my drive the same day. Vahan and Elen were particularly helpful and professional the entire way through. It was really a pleasure to work with them and I can't recommend Five Star enough!

I was fairly horrified because I thought solid state drives were supposed to be much more reliable than traditional HDD spinning disc drive. Incorrect! Flunk! Fail! Go directly to jail!! What a bummer. I thought I was toast. I'm a photographer and I had a lot of images on this drive. One terabytes worth. It's rubberized and sealed. I thought it was beyond repair. I googled around and found 5 Star Data Recovery. I took it in and they busted it out. They did a tremendous job and got 98% of my data back. What a bullet to do! Cost me around $600. I wouldn't call it cheap, but I would say it was actually pretty fair considering what they were working with. Also, would I learn never buy an encrypted external hard drive. It makes it that much more difficult and expensive to retrieve data from. They were still able to do it even though it was encrypted. Anyway, all in all the guys were awesome. I couldn't be happier. I count myself. #Lucky.!!

I was hesitant at first because you want to make sure you are going to the best place and getting the best value. I found it here and then some. Data Retrieval in Temecula was able to save all of our files, photos, etc., we are talking years and years of work and memories that we had lost due to serious hard drive damage. It was literally a catastrophe until we found Tim and he saved the day! He is honest. Fair. and extremely talented and knowledgeable. Before this experience, I was very concerned that all was lost and I might lose more money on top of the data I had lost. It turned out that this was the best deal imaginable - the value he has restored to us is incredible and the price reasonable and fair. We were so happy with his service that we left him a huge tip on top of the fee for his work. He is 100% our first choice if I ever have another difficulty with my data storage.

Beware and run away from this fraud!…read more I called Tim and spoke to him about my hard drive issue. I had installed a backup software and it supposedly ran my hard drive so hard that it caused a malfunction. I told him that I took my drive to another local technician and that guy thought it was it a connection issue where it plugs in. But a day later, that guy said it was not and something that he couldn't work on. That's why I contacted Tim because he had better technology to work on newer drives. When I brought the drive in, he looked at and didn't see any visible issues with the physical aspects of the drive. He bragged and boasted about how he's gotten 99% of his customers data back. He talked about how he works with 2 types of people- those who want their data back and those who go through all lengths to make sure their data is lost. At the time of drop off, Tim said he was waiting for a new board to be delivered, that was OUT FOR DELIVERY at that specific time. He would know by the end of the day if he could get my data back, and to stop panicking... everything will be fine. A week went by without any communication so I called him for an update. He hadn't even started my job yet. He blamed it on slow delivery and "the war in Russia..." I called another week later and the new board finally arrived and that he would need a few days and my drive would be ready. Another week later and he said he had to send my drive to the FBI in West Virginia because his new board was not working. I didn't realize the FBI was 'for hire' on data retrieval. Funny, right? It was Friday and he said the drive would returned on Monday. And yet, still no update until another week later. My hard drive is all of sudden broken and none of their tools can help retrieve data. Tim says a "microscopic " scratch and break is why my data cannot be read. He sends me pictures of the broken piece. I can see it in the photo and he would have seen it when I dropped it off. So now he blames the original technician. My drive was NOT broken when I dropped it off but it was returned broken to me. Tim is full of fancy stories...retrieving data that has been smashed by hammers and run over on purpose by cars, thrown in lakes and dropped down 15 stories! He works for the "FBI" and can get any info. Yet...this tiny little scratch is preventing him from getting my data. I think his stories are fake! I don't think he even attempted to get my data. Tim kept saying to me "it's gonna cost some money..." I make tons of money and was willing to invest whatever I needed to get my 2 years worth of data back. Maybe Tim thought I couldn't afford it or maybe he just likes to tell stories. He made matters worse. He is not a professional. He just a guy that copies data and actually lives inside his office with his mattress and curtains. Thursday, March 31- First attempt to pick up my drive and he's not there. I call and he answers in a perky tone, then when I say my name, he's all of sudden changed his tone and he's sick. But he'll be in tomorrow Friday. Wednesday, April 6- second attempt to pick up my hard drive. I call and ask if he will be there and he promptly says YES! Then asks "who is this?" And soon as I told him who I was, he said "I won't be in until much later. I'm still fighting a cold. Like 330pm." I guess that's when the cold is scheduled to end. He said he's going to send me the drive with a tracking number. But given his history of poor communication, I didn't trust him. So we drove over anyways and I had my husband go knock on his door. And guess who's there? Yep, that's right...Tim answered the door for my husband and my hard drive was sitting on the desk. I should have listened to the other reviews. Let's face it...not everyone has great reviews when it comes to data retrieval. I took the one with less risk and as it turns out, these issues with Tim are way more common. I messaged other people who got the same service from Tim and they all said the same thing...delivery, wars, FBI, and a little scratch all got in the way.
