I needed a very dirty desktop to be cleaned. I called around locally and was told minimum charge would be $65.00 to $85.00. This is something I could have done myself but I wasn't real comfortable rummaging around inside my beloved computer. Called PC House and they were happy to do this small job for $25.00! PC House has been in business for years and Human Computer gets parts from them and Best Buy uses these guys. PC House cares about their customer base. Everybody else just wants your cash. WILL TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF TOU. The experience was exhausting and frustrating I'm busy at the moment caring for my mom who just had surgery so... We call and explain the problem with the laptop to the owner, Gilbert. He meets us at the shop, takes the laptop but doesn't pop off the back off for a 10-sec look. He hands my son a form to fill out saying that it would be $65. Luckily we pressed him on what we got for $65. FOR $65 he turns the laptop over pulls the back off (screws already removed BTW) looks at the port. Which needs to be soldered back on. Was meaning to write this review months ago but I was past the word limit and gave up, but i'm writing it now after finally having the energy to do so again. I brought my laptop in due to heating issues and *he* cleaned it. It worked perfectly, and he then suggested I should replace the fans and repaste the laptop. ok i don't mind. He ordered the fans and **thermal paste**. Odd that he didn't have paste in stock at his PC store, but whatever. Day came by to replace then he states I needed liquid metal for my laptop(msi rog gu502lu). Odd that he just now told me, but I agreed and he **ordered** the liquid metal. Finally, he did his thing, and i received the laptop. Did i mention i paid for 1 full gram of liquid metal, and paid for new thermal paste, only to not receive what was left? I essentially paid to restock their shelves. Anywho, my laptop's graphics card wasn't working when I got it back. He said i could bring it back, so i did. He took a whole week only to update me by sending a freaking malwarebytes scan when it was a clear hardware issue. I knew something was up. I wasn't having it since I did notice he uninstalled and reinstalled GeForce experience during his one week endeavor of trying to figure out the software issue that was preventing my gpu from being detected. he definitely knew my card wasn't being read, but said nothing. I called him out, he didn't like it and began blaming me, so I took the laptop back and then to a reputable shop. (he at some point towards the end did say it was a hardware issue and to replace the motherboard for 559$, labor included. I was not about to spend more money especially since i no longer felt he was credible.) The new shop told me liquid metal was spilled all over the motherboard. sent me pictures and videos about it. telling me how the person who handled it had no idea what they were doing. messaged *him* back and he refused to take accountability. Kept blaming me, which was slightly funny, given the proof i showed him. The new shop cleaned the liquid metal off my motherboard, and my gpu was finally being detected :). Oh yeah, did I mention that when I confronted him and showed him proof, he tried refuting my proof by sending me a picture of someone else's dusty laptop fans ? He only realized when I commented on it. :P did i also mention that he boldly claimed that the liquid metal wouldn't damage the gpu? (just search up what liquid metal can do) Anyways, I would avoid this place if you can. Most of the reviews here are from people who only have 1 review, AND give this place 5 stars without giving any detailed info on the services they received . It's odd. Find *small businesses* or *family owned* that are reputable. Other places in Riverside charge less for labor anyway. I called to see if they can look at my laptop that wasn't turning on, the guy on the phone said to bring it in and it's $35. Brought it in the next day. Walked in, looked like a storage full of junk and dust. Looks nothing like the pictures posted. The guy stood behind a counter and didnt even say hi, I told him I called the other day because my laptop won't turn on but it turned on today. I wasn't even done explaining what I needed to be checked and he laughed and said "well it works now so you're ok" then I tell him, I need a new battery and he interrupts me, continues to laugh and said "go on ebay and look up the type of battery you need and buy it there." And that point it was clear he didn't want to help me so I said thanks and left. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. My family has been going to the pc house for years. The owner is so nice and always fixes our computers. We were referred to him by someone who worked at Microsoft. Every time I give him my broken computer he takes it and gives it back to me in perfect condition. He also charges very fair prices for his services. The guy told us it was thirty five bucks to diagnose the laptop and if he can fix it it would be 135, well, he tried to raise the price a couple of times after that saying that some parts of the keyboards are not functional and he had to do more deep cleaning, it went up to three hundred dollars. Very unprofessional and is money hungry. read more
