Awful company. A sales representative came in my office saying he could save me money on my phone bill. I signed up for a 1 year contract at $84.99 a month. I get my first bill and the amount is much higher than what I agreed to on my contract. I call customer service, and they say they won't honor my original contract. She says they had to raise my rates, and extend my contract regardless of what I signed. Every time I called I got the same women with an awful personality. I faxed her the copy of my contract, and she told me she wouldn't adjust my bill. The salesman said he will fix it for me but i have called him several times, and he is not following through with me. Absolutely the worst customer service ever. They present you with a contract, and don't honor it, and care less if you're happy with their service or not. Complete scammers. Okay everyone. I'm happy that my service has been repaired and I was able to speak to the manager who has excellent communication skills by the way. I just wanted to give an update. Raphael T who is the manager of the Datavo Company. He didnt' know these crazy things were happening to most of us. He read these problems on YELP. You know most of the times employees make things seem like it's all good, everyone is happy, and etc. However, for some of us that was not the case. However, the manager found our complaints here on YELP and he responded to one of my complaints. I read it and decided to call him today. So if someone does not know about these things then they cannot help us. However, we posted on YELP and that got his attention. I've recieved a phone call from him today. He fixed my phone and it's back working. He's really a nice person, he listens, he's very professional, and he cares about the customers. SEE they need more people like him at DATAVO. I told him about how nasty that answering service people were and they tried to charge me $3 to make a service request or ticket to turn into DATAVO. However Raphael has become aware of their terrible actions and said that their company has taken this into consideration and they're working on making a transition to another service. HOORAY. HOORAY. So I suggest all you Yelpers out there if you have a problem with DATAVO talk to the head person in charge who seems to really understand customer service. I mean none of us wants to talk badly about companies. I don't have time. I want all my experiences to be GREAT. So if you have a problem simply let the manager know, because sometimes when you call they will not forward you to a manager. But luckily because of YELP Mr. Raphael T has contacted me and other yelpers. He posted the information below on my old review. But I just wanted people to know that He is a real TRUE Customer Service Person. He made the situation better and he was very nice. He didnt' yell at me or have that nasty Los Angeles, CA attitude. So if you have a problem with DATAVO or you had a bad experience just simply let him know he cannot manage everything and he has to go by what we as customers tell him or what he reads online. I'm sure no companies want a bad experience. Also I do save some money using their service. If we all save $20 a month extra that's $240 extra a year that we don't have to pay. I have been with this company for 6 years now, even when they where called FREE CHOICE. Now DATAVO started raising the prices just because up to 2x. When I called to cancel my services, they transferred me to a guy named LYN extension 1106 or 1104. I have spoken to him 4 times now and All I want to do is cancel my services. I am being charged for services that I do not use since June 19th. today is September 11. Lyn personally told me he will call me back with in 30 min, it's been weeks and no call. When I leave a message he does not call me back. other employes don't or can't handle cancellations only for some reason he can. This company is horrible when it comes to costumer service never sign up for it. PS. no other company charges you to cancel services, even when you have no contracts of any kind. they charge you 89 bucks just to cancel. They say that someone has to come and physical do so but it's a lie since I was the one who installed there modem myself years ago. no where on the contract it says about the charges. when I visited them personally at the office to place my cancellations, they didn't let me in since its a gated area read more

Not recommend Datavo to anyone. I had been using another service, while it was suddenly changed/ bought out by Datavo. Then the nightmare started. It would text me and said my plan had to be changed, to less data ---- way less. Then I had to use a new SIM card in a limited time window they would send me, otherwise the service will not work. And, I was traveling overseas during the whole limited time window. I called and they said they couldn't do anything. So I lost service for a while, till I came back, and called them again. After that was done, a couple of months later, my phone just stopped working, can't browse, can't text, can't call. Restarted the iPhone, no effect. I called them, they said everything seems fine. I insisted, told them I hadn't have service for several days. They looked into it and found the problem, then magically my phone worked. HowEver, while I just staying at my business, using Wifi, then go home (just the next door, with wifi), the 2GB data went down to sewage in a couple of days. Called them again, they harshly said,"Our system says you used it. And 2GB is not a lot of data!" Ok, but if I am within wifi network all the time, there shouldn't be any phone data usage, isn't it? "Your phone app is using data at any time even if you have wifi all the time!" That's what they said. Well I don't have any social media app on my phone. Any other app (like Yelp) would not cost 2GB data in 3 days to just refresh in the background. I asked to talk to a supervisor, they said they can't find any at that time. I said if they are busy, I can wait. They insisted to have someone call me back. Then someone called me back, told me the same thing. Offered no solution, said no courteous words, and when I asked to cut my auto-pay they emotionlessly said ok. They just lost a customer and they don't even said one word about that, both the rep and supervisor. I am just being literal here: both are obviously Indians, who have fake English first names, no last name, no employee number, no personality, no customer service. All they can do is to tell you information from a cheap database, which it can only tell you how much you have used in a total sum, no daily volume data, which is super easy to keep tracking. But if they don't care about being honest and informative? They won't "waste hard drive space" to store that data for customers, not even for the last or current month. This country no longer have good or normal customer service on phone, since they massively started to out source this kind of job to India. Beside they really speak in heavy heavy accents, they really do-not-care about servicing customers. All they know is to read off the script, like some arrogant robots. Don't ask me how robots can be arrogant. Ask why they are so unappreciative to people who pay them money to have that job. I foresee in the future, all the customer service jobs would come back to America. Yes we will need to pay some more (would not double) for services done correctly by properly trained American, but we would gain more (priceless) smiles too. Americans would do a better job, because they understand what need to be delivered, because receiving service is part of their real life. Needless to say, I am switching to another company. Just wish somebody can tell me if there is a prepaid company with American customer service reps. I'd pay 20% more price to have that feature, for real. Do you think those Indians would treat their own people in their country the same way? They would lose their jobs in a heart beat if they worked in China. These guys offer cheap business phone service using VOIP. They beat the pants off AT&T who wasn't even willing to talk price reductions! Their switchover was super-easy and we didn't have any interruption. Overall, our bills are over $40 cheaper per month and our download speeds are faster... but be aware... their customer service can stink! We had two days with SLOW internet (like 56k) and they had us on hold for like 30 minutes with any tech calls. Totally lame. read more

My invoice is much cheaper then when I was with ATT and I love that when I call into Customer Service, I can actually speak with a PERSON right away and not get bounced around a phone system! If there were a ZERO STAR or -5 Star, that would be more accurate. After years of HORRIBLE service, when we went to switch to ATT, Datavo PURPOSELY shut off our business line rather than transfer it, so now we are a full day at our business with NO PHONE. ATT is working on reconnecting it and who knows how long that will take. Meanwhile every minute the phone is out of service we are losing money and customers. ATT said Datavo was not supposed to shut it off but transfer it but that this company tends to get vindictive and will make it as difficult as possible for customers who try to leave them. Horrible. In retrospect, I know I made a mistake because they have a very poor customer service. Once, I had a technical issue with my phone and it took them days to fix it. Horrible telecommunications company to deal with stay away. I've used them 4 almost 8 years and hated it every minute of it. When I finally realized they are charging my company double then when I was originally quoted I move my business. Customer service is horrible. Then they got me one more time by charging me $100 for the equipment when I was going to drive it to them they said they don't take walk ins I have to spend money and mail it to them and hope they will actually give me the credit. They pay people to put good reviews on but look at all the bad ones they have. Don't switch over to this company! I was late on a payment and called to make certain it was received, and was told that it was. The next day they suspended my business line. When I called them to look into it, I was told that they were moving and no one could switch it back on. I was reassured that it would be taken care of the next morning, which was a Saturday. However, on Saturday it was still down. When I called them, all I got was a 'closed' voicemail, with no way to contact a tech person. On Monday it was still not on, which was 6 days of lost revenue for my business! The person was rude and my call was dropped. When I called back, they said, 'Didn't you check your phone? It was switched back on.' When I asked when, they said 2 minutes ago. Customer service is HORRIBLE with rude technicians. They wouldn't even prorate my bill for THEIR MISTAKE for the 6 days that I'd lost business. NO apology; no 'how can we make this right' approach. I was made to feel that it was all my fault. HELLO??? They switched my phone off because they aren't able to effectively communicate internally? They can't get a tech to switch my service back on because they are moving??? I think not. This company's service is the absolute worst I have EVER experienced in my entire life. Their people are incompetent, their professionalism is completely non-existent, and their communication skills are pathetic. I have had 3 Datavo technicians at my facility in the month since I switched from AT&T and, as of tonight, I still have no dial-tone and sporadic internet service. Despite my strong complaints about the technician who did the initial installation, and a promise from the Service manager not to send him back to my office, the company, in their wisdom sent him back to troubleshoot my service today. This was after promising me yesterday that I would have a technician arrive to correct my outages TODAY, and then notifying me AFTER I called in late this afternoon that they would not be coming today after all. Then when I yelled at the service manager that this was unacceptable, sure enough the 'Technician from Hell' showed up, attitude and all, and after smearing grease on my white interior office wall next to an expensive piece of art, he informed me that the problem was with the AT&T loop and had nothing to do with Datavo's circuits or equipment. After I insisted he get his boss on the line, some further 'remote diagnostic tests' were performed by his boss and it was discovered that there were software problems with my installation. These were 'corrected' and the service worked for an hour after he left until all three of my voice lines went down again. I must add that I have wasted scores of hours during this past month on the phone trying to resolve technical and service issues with Datavo and have been frustrated to no end EVERY time I have called. It is practically impossible to escalate an issue, the wait times to get to the correct service person are exessive and often end with the call being disconnected, and the issue never seems to get resolved. Commitments are always made and broken and the headaches just keep mounting. Switching to Datavo was the worst decision I have made in 5 years of operating my business and the cost to my business in service downtime and lost productivity is huge. Horrible, horrible service. The monthly payment for having 2 business lines is reasonable (competitive). However, they get you on installation and it's $150 for 2 lines and only for outside. It's your responsibility to hook up your own inside line. There's a charge for long distance calls after 16 miles from your location. Customer service needs phone courtesy. read more

I just cancelled our business account with Datavo. On Monday last week we noticed our phones were not working. Called Datavo to report. They sent someone out the next day from AT&T who determined the problem was at Datavo's end. He left. Apparently Datavo needed to request another tech to go look at it. By Wednesday, we still had no phones. I called and my call was routed to a guy working at a "remote location" because of heavy call volume. He was worthless. He had no information other than the owner Louis L was supposed to call me to tell me what is going on. I asked him to give me Louis phone number. No can do. Email address? nope. I asked how he contacted someone when he had an emergency. He advised he has no other resources. He finally found an email address. I sent an email to it and still received no reply. On Thursday, I called again and got someone who confirmed there was an open ticket but didn't know what was going on. I asked for her to have Louis call me ASAP. He finally called but shockingly had no information to give me. "We are working on it" was all he would say. Didn't know when the problem would be solved. He said they would forward our calls to someone's cell phone if we wanted. By the next Monday (Yep, 7 days later) when our phones still didn't work, I went a bought a burner phone to forward the calls to so we could let our customers know that yes, we are still in business. Wouldn't you know, 30 minutes after activating the phone and getting the calls forwarded, Louis calls to say the phones should be working by tomorrow morning. I asked to be reimbursed for the cost of the burner phone and the service I just purchased (approx. $100). Nope he says. He will give us credit for the 9 days we were without service. The following day he called to confirm the service was working again and to let me know they were giving us a whopping $50 credit. Yesterday we had our number ported over to our new service SIP.US. Great customer support and cheaper prices. Steer clear of this company. read more

Usually I do not write angry reviews but in this case, I think the public needs to be warned of DATAVO. I work in the suburbs of Los Angeles and our phone system dealer set us up with DATAVO 2 years ago. We have had problems here and there but really started having major problems with my internet and one of 4 phone lines after a rain storm in February. After Datavo sent guys out 4 times, they finally admitted that that the line that DATAVO leased from AT&T that brought service into my office was faulty. Since I am not an AT&T customer, AT&T would not fix the line and there was nothing they could do. This took almost a month for DATAVO to admit this and finally told us to use another carrier if we needed internet. As part of the problem, we had asked for credit for the time that we had no service and were told by the manage Lin that he would try and issue a credit for NOT giving us the service. Of course, they did not do this for Feb or March. We switched to Charter completely and terminated our internet service with them in March. Even though we discontinued the internet service and later all services with DATAVO they have continued to debit our credit card for the monthly fee. After making mulitple calls and being transferred to voice mailboxes that cannot take messages because they were full ( are your kidding?), I finally spoke to a rep who confirmed service was officially terminated and processed in early April. Guess what I just got another charge on the credit card. After spending almost 1 hour on the phone and being tranferred to leave messages, I have not yet received a response. The worse thing is that I had contacted my credit card company last month to notify them to stop allowing charges. This month, they charged me again and I found ut that DATAVO bypassed the block this month by entering a different code to trick the system that my credit card company will need to block again. Chase has told me that the different entry was clever on their part to bypass the system -Clever or Dishonest? I will be filing an official complaint with the Better Business Bureau and The California Utilies Commission against DATAVO in hopes that a large fine will be issued for their actions. Either the staff at DATAVO are clueless or they are purposefully committing fraud in their billing practices. Until then, USER BEWARE, even though they might be cheaper, the frustration and your time might not be worth the savings. read more

I work in the technology field and this is by far the most difficult ISP to work with. They do not create tickets for support issues, they are VERY rude, and support takes more than 5 days to do anything. You would be better served to pay an extra $20 for better customer service. read more

Once again, our MAIN phone line is down. Running a service business without your phone's working is IMPOSSIBLE. This happened a few weeks ago and they told me I'd have to wait over 24 hours for a tech to come out and solve the problem. NOT OK. I try calling this morning but of course, they don't even open until 8:30 am, and trust me anyone you get there in customer service at 8:30 am is miserable because they haven't had their coffee yet and could care less about your problem. You are placed on hold for long periods of time and when you finally get to speak with some one they are extremely unprofessional. Our company had their service for a year with a 3 year contract and after 1 year of terrible service we decided to go with AT&T and now have to deal with paying a cancelation fee of more than $2,000. I am not sure where all of these negative comments are coming from. We have worked with Datavo for close to a year with many of our clients. They are a reliable company with good people, great service and fantastic pricing. We have experience with many carriers in the marketplace (AT&T, Verizon, TelePacific, XO, Cbeyond, tw telecom, Level 3, Time Warner Cable, Charter Cable, Comcast Cable, Telekenex, TCAST, Century Link and many others) and Datavo has proven to be one of the better carriers to work with. read more

Unacceptable Service!!! I have had this service for many years and no complaints but you can tell a compnay by how responsive they are when a prolem occurs. My phone went out on a Thrusday. I called and spoke to tech support Thurs. and Friday and was told the issues would be fixed by Fri. afternoon! By Friday afternoon no service and no return call. It has now been 4days!!!! Ive never wanted to write a review in my life. But the service and response i got from this company including the man in charge is so bad that it made me sign up a yelp account and tell you how bad it is. First thing is first, if you want internet service that doesn't work that well and phone service that goes off at least once a week sign up with this company.. I get it... internet phone service for can be bad everywhere, but what makes this company the worst of the worst is the person in charge, his name Raphael. Our internet did not work for over one full week, and he brought techs in claiming it was our fault nothing on there end. Than finally after 10 days of no internet they fixed the problem on there end. Now honestly i could move forward from this even though they were so stubborn they didn't want to believe it was them but realized it was on there end and fixed it after 10 days. But then when we called Raphael and obviously he was very aware of the situation he answers then phone with this attitude and basically saying why are u calling me what do u need. Zero apologies, rude and zero customer service, when you talk to the guy he makes it seem like you wasting your time talking to him. Who owns datavo? i would highly recommend you send Raphael to a school that teaches you how to interact with real life human begins, i know that's tough but i think if you do that you may succeeded with you business.
