I contacted customer service multiple times and instead of troubleshooting the issue properly, I was repeatedly told that I "have to use their router." That is simply not true. Customers are allowed to use their own compatible routers. Being told otherwise felt dismissive and misleading. I requested that a technician come out to check or replace the modem since the service clearly is not performing as advertised. I was then told I would have to pay $150 for a technician visit. Why should I pay to fix equipment or service that is not delivering what I am already paying for? On top of that, customer service was extremely frustrating. Communication was difficult, and resolving anything felt impossible. There was no ownership of the issue and no real attempt to fix the problem. After this experience, I have decided to switch providers. I would strongly recommend researching other options before signing up. The speeds have not matched the advertised service, and the customer support experience has been very disappointing.

Spectrum is a horrible company. Everything from customer service, to technical support, to their…read moreretail location, to the equipment they provide you and even their end product (Internet in our case) is very bad. And if all that were not bad enough, they are expensive and their business model is to abuse existing customers with steady price increases. We have had Spectrum Internet for years and years. I called around 6 months ago, to ask if they could help us save some money on the Internet. Sure! the nice lady on the phone said. For just a $70 one-time service fee, they would bring and install new and updated equipment while also saving us $25 a month on the Internet. Great! The technician came and did the install. He said he tested everything. And... drumroll please... none of our tvs could connect to the new Internet. Nor could some of our other WiFi based home conveniences. So I called and they sent another technician, who was more thorough and honest, who explained that the new router wasn't strong enough to reach the nearest tv, which is about 15 feet from the router. So, the ten year old router reached all of our stuff, but the new one couldn't. Nice. We had to buy an Amazon eero system to extend the internet to our devices. After all this, the tvs still only connect sometimes and are slow, compared to the old Spectrum system. Spectrum simply doesn't care about its customers. Zero stars. (Unfortunately Spectrum is also a near monopoly. Only other choice for Internet here is Starlink.)

So we finally are nearing the end of Geolinks. Although they got it working, it is working super…read moreslow now. We pay $75 per month for 30 MBPS down / 10MBPS up but only get 17MBPS down and 1.5MBPS up so we are switching to 100MBPS Starlink for $50 per month. All that Geolinks would have needed to do to keep us happy would have been deliver most of the bandwidth that we pay for somewhat consistently. The tech showed up today (late) and told her that he was there to hook up her TV and her Internet. She was confused because not once did she say she wanted Internet and she certainly never authorized that. They never gave her a printout of what she was signing up for and come to think of it, she never signed anything at all. So how they get away with doing things like this is beyond me. The guys who work here are only interested in selling stuff to you, probably for a commission. They lost a customer because who would want to stay with a company who does these kinds of things? I'd give them zero stars if I could.

In the last 14 months my bill has increased by nearly 50%. Their customer service department says they stopped two promotions for existing customers and only offer aggressive discount promotions to brand new customers. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere. With Spectrum 30 plus years of loyalty is not worth a thing.

As noted in other reviews, the way in which the customer service works is by transferring you to a representative that at best can only ask you to unplug your router and plug it back in again. If you have a more serious problem, then the best they can do is refer you to their mysterious "tier 2" team. They will tell you that your issue has been escalated and to expect a call back the same day or the following day. Currently, I have been waiting back to hear from this team for a month. I have called over and over again and I am unable to reach a single individual who can help me with my problem. This is a nightmare for someone who works at home and requires stable internet to do their job well. Reading other reviews and looking online demonstrates that this is a common enough problem that signing up for this service is a bad idea. If you are searching for an apartment and you find one that offers BAI connect, I encourage you to keep searching and to tell the apartment management that you will not be submitting an application because of the ISP they chose. Trust me, you do not want to be stuck in this hellish scenario of wasting hours of your time weeks on end to get no where. What you are paying for is just not worth it. I have been a customer of ATT and Spectrum, while both have their failings, I can at the very least say that I was able to get a hold of someone who could help me eventually.
