I've come here a lot over the last few years of living in SA but we had a great time today. We usually frequent the downtown location but this was more convenient today. The front cashier was nice and friendly. The bartender, Cody, served up some great drinks and was also super friendly when explaining all the drink specials available to us. We were also lucky in getting some high scores on certain games. We love coming here for games and to kill time. I'll def be coming back to this location for the better service. read more

A pretty awesome place, even if you aren't in it for the games. There are two restaurant and bar areas that are pretty well separated from the noisy gaming areas. I had the Cabo Chicken and my GF had the fish and chips. We also each had a very cold draft beer and we were happy with the overall service. I always enjoy my time at Dave and Busters. This location is a bit rundown though, it's been there for a while. Some of the games are a bit worn out but they do stock new games pretty often. One of my absolute dislikes of this place is that smoking is allowed at the front bar. Yuck! To walk to the game area from the front you have to walk through the stink. I can't stand cigarette smoke, in fact most times it gives me a headache. I'm guessing it's allowed here because it's technically located in Balcones Heights. Bleh... Perhaps I'm spoiled because most places are non-smoking which my lungs appreciate. The service at this location is pretty much non-existent. Though the bartenders are pretty good though. It's just the other staff like the girl at the ticket counter, she could try to smile every once in a while. Just a wild suggestion. If you've been to newer D&Bs in other cities then this location will disappoint but if you haven't then you won't expect more that what is presented. Again, it is what it is. Just came for the games. Prices were as usual. Hand sanitizer available at a few different spots and masks required. It was nice to get out of the RV for a bit and have some fun, there are some really nice people here in TX. However, the woman working in the prize area was not one of them. I feel like, if you're going to work with kids at least have a good attitude. I get that it was busy and she was probably overwhelmed but there were lots of kids and they don't understand that people have bad days... The prizes were veryyy slim pickings. Not much at all to choose from. Also, the bathrooms were so messy. I took a picture but I'm not going to post it because again, it was busy and I understand that. We went this past Saturday because our son wanted to celebrate his birthday playing games. Things went well as far as the games and our boys enjoying themselves. We sat at a booth near the bar (by the scary sit in game) and Sig was our waitress. Things started off well... she was very attentive and got our drinks and appetizer orders in. She came back once more after our appetizers came and then she disappeared FOR A LONG TIME. We saw her waiting other tables so we just sat and waited for her to come back but she avoided our area. Eventually, I went to her at the register while her manager was standing there and asked if she had any intentions on coming back to check on us any time soon. Our drinks had been empty for a good thirty minutes and we were ready to place an order for food. She came and took our order. Our food came (pizza and wings) with no plates to eat them on. She eventually came back after we were already half way through eating and said, "oh, do you guys need plates"? Uhhhhh, ya think?! By that time I ignored her existence because I really wanted to tell her how horrible her service was but I kept quiet. I will remember to not sit in an area she's working in the future. I overheard the other table in front of us talking to a manager. Apparently, Sig started clearing their table and supposedly threw away a game card of theirs that had $50 on it. It's been awhile since I have been here and one thing has remained constant.....it's a fun place! It is extremely loud with all the games and with a full parking lot, I was nervous how crowded it would be inside. Luckily this place is really big and so there is plenty of space for one and all! It is very family oriented so lots of kids of all ages all around. They have many dining area options to please just about anyone. The Service was decent and our waiter was very friendly. He probably could have checked on us some more and cleared some of our plates as we emptied them, but it was a busy Friday night. The food was fair to good. I'm currently in the market for a meeting location that will accommodate about 10-15 for a monthly meeting luncheon. I wanted to give Dave & Buster's a try because it's so perfectly centrally located for my group. I was a little disappointed they wouldn't let us use one of their private rooms so that we could shut the doors off from the noise. They said we needed an agreement with them in advance so that we could guarantee them a certain amount of food sales before we would be allowed to use a private room. They did allow us to use the TV room that is located to your left when you walk in. It's the furthest point away from the arcade area, so it worked for us this month. I still feel that since nobody was using the rooms, and the place wasn't busy at all, they could have accommodated to ensure a continuous stream of monthly business. But, I digress. The server was kind, patient, and helpful. The food was pretty standard for American food. Everything came out just as ordered for all of my guests, and the server didn't give us any difficulty about separate checks. Although I'm going to continue my hunt for the perfect location for my monthly meeting, D&B is up there in the running for the permanent location. Our meal today at Dave and Busters was delicious. We always love to take advantage of Eat and Play deals. Today we had the cheeseburger and the Philly cheese. Both were delicious, plus $10 in Game Play which is always worth it. We also had the cheese bites and those are definitely worth getting. The highlight of this trip was our waiter, James, who was super attentive. He checked on us several times to make sure we were enjoying our meal, made sure to get any special request correct, and was very pleasant to talk to. We were amazed when he told us we were his first table off training. He is definitely a keeper! And deserves a 5 star. The rest of this review is about the games. I can't believe they have decided to remove most the coin slide games and the ones they have now don't reward any tickets for silver coins that fall, but just for the blue and orange tokens or the cards. That is beyond dumb. The old coin games used to reward 6 tickets for every silver coin dropped making them fun and rewarding to play. My family has dropped thousands on those machines over the years. These new machines only reward 15 points for a orange or blue chip and 50 for a card. This new system greatly reduces the number of tickets you win while playing. And it's not like they reduced the amount of tickets required to cash in on prizes. Boo to you Dave and Busters and your greed. read more

The only good thing today was the waiter, Tyrone and the Dr. pepper I had. First off, the ordering process is ridiculous. You have to order your drinks, apps, and meals at one time. You have to pay for it all right when you order and you have to tip right then and there (unless you are gonna tip cash... which I highly recommend). Luckily, our waiter, Tyrone was great! So... secondly, they bring out our grandsons meal (which I had put in to come out first) chicken nuggets, ehhhh... fries and carrot sticks with ranch. The ranch and I'm assuming whole plate had been under the heat lamp for quite a while. The ranch was served to us HOT! Disgusting. The carrots were also hot and very dried out. We asked for the manager (not being "Karen's" but we wanted him to be aware) and Eddie (we had to ask the waiter for his name because he didn't tell us) comes over and we let him know about the ranch. He just says uh hu, ok ok. We let them know that our concern was that if a kid just likes to eat that they can get sick because who the hell wants to eat hot ranch? We show him one of the questionable carrots which we originally thought was a french fry due to the fact that I've been under a heat lamp and was all dried out and green at the ends. He says "that's a carrot"! Well yes, it is. It's not suppose to look like that. After ordering we waited about 45 minutes for meals which were ok. All and all, very disappointed in today's experience. It isn't a good feeling when you pay so much for a bad experience. Eddie did offer to make a new kids plate, which we politely declined because our 2 year old wasn't going to end up eating it anyway. It would have been a waste of food. Just hoping it will open up their eyes and they will be more observant next time. Ask for a receipt from your waiter because the manager will tell you it goes to your email. We sat at the bar in the game room to eat and watch the NCAA tourney and there was no wait like the main dining area. As a patron you've just gotta be smarter than complain about a wait - find other alternatives like we did. Food was good, our server Kevin was very friendly and professional and the manager Sean Garcia was top notch! The police officer on duty, Hector, had a watchful eye and made my wife feel safe. I love Dave and Busters, but this location was the worst one I've been to. It was 14 of us, & took us 30 minutes to sit, once we sat down, it took another 10-15 min for our waitress to come, then another 20 to just get our drinks, and an hour to get our food. Some of our group got their food, others cancelled because by the time they finished eating, they still did not get their food. The server was also not attentive, we understand a big table like ours was probably a lot, but having been working as a server, you're not in control of making the food, but check in every once in a while to see the status of our waters and food. Lastly, manager got involved and didn't even apologize to those who did not receive their food. Will never come to this location again. read more

I've never actually eaten here, but the BF and I come here pretty regularly to play games- on Wednesdays, it's half price, which is nice. The self-serve kiosk allows you to purchase credits and cards easily and without having to deal with employees, which is nice. Kind of bummed that they've done away with the tennis game they used to have, but they've made some strides to make up for it with the Fruit Samurai game, the group trivia game, and having multiple Deal or No Deal games. My favorite will always be the one where you're pushing the coins off the ledge though. I'd put the names of the games here, except they're al fairly generic. This place has upgraded to the 21st century and has the reloadable gaming cards I mentioned above, which can be kind of hit or miss at times- some games take a while to register the swipe, so you either can't play or over-swipe by accident. Last time we went, all of the driving games went down and no one was available to put them back up while we were there, which was odd. Prizes are about what you would expect- enough to appeal to kids, and cheap enough not to be worth it for adults. As a result, we have two cards and are steadily racking up a large ticket balance, but likely won't cash in for quite some time unless we settle for something like a license plate frame. I generally like that you can dine in the actual gaming area, but as I said, I haven't had the food here myself. Will be sure to update this review when and if I do. read more

We went in for games and drinks and there was only one server/bartender handling all the tables as well as the bar. She was super busy and needed help for sure. If the majority of the games are gonna be broken they need to lower the prices of the games also. I can't believe I've lived in San Antonio for nearly 10 years and my first time to D&B was yesterday. After reading all of the yelp reviews, I have to admit my expectations were not high at all. I was expecting a dirty establishment, nasty food, rude workers, etc. I was happily surprised to be greeted right as we entered by the cashier. As soon as we sat at the bar, we were taken care of by the bartender - sure she wasn't the friendliest person ever, but you wouldn't be either being the only bartender serving a bunch of needy, drunk people. With how attentive she was throughout our visit, I can happily take that over her being a tad bit grouchy. Drinks were delicious and not watered down at all as others have mentioned. The food was definitely not great, at all, in my opinion. I was expecting this so tried to order something I usually always like and don't mind getting cold (since others have mentioned their food was cold). I got the ultimate mac & cheese. It was COLD when I received it, but by this point - I had a lot to drink, so I really didn't care. My boyfriend got the "trifecta" which consisted of chicken, shrimp, and steak skewers. They were all cold and pretty tasteless. Pretzel bites and chocolate fondue were fantastic though! The game room is a blast and the prizes are pretty good. We ended up both getting $20 game cards and got 1,600 tickets which we bought 4 football mugs with. Not bad at all. I can't wait to return to D&B! You're coming here for the experience. There's still tons of kids running around, but at least there's a bar involved and if you're not interested in playing games, you can at least eat and drink in peace knowing your kiddos are having fun playing! read more

My bf and I came out last night after work for 1/2 off Wednesday. Some of the machines were broken, and we couldn't even go to half of games because the side by the restroom smelled disgusting. The restrooms don't have a closed door and it smelled like someone just took a crap on the floor or maybe smeared it all over the restroom because the whole place smelled like it. Employees were just standing around and no one was doing anything. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Clean your restrooms, get rid of the smell. We couldn't stay longer than 15 minutes. Service at the bar is the worst. I came around 10 pm last Saturday. The bar was super dirty The bartender with a beard was racist as fuck. I pulled out my Mexican ID, (I'm a College international student) I asked him for a deep eddy ruby red sprite and he looked at my ID and started questioning if it was fake or not. Later on he was extremely rude and asked another girl to check, later he came back and offer me "sprite grenadine" which if you are a bartender you want to sell drinks that's a non Alcoholic drink. After that he processed to say he didn't not have deep eddy and I said I wanted a vodka sprite . And he came back with the works drink possible, straight up vodka water. Don't come to this place if they hire this type of people who don't care about their costumers. And like it's Dave and busters, he should know better if people come to watch games and drink. Worst costumer experience even since I have lived in San Antonio. No one really had ever asked me if my ID is fake or something like that. What got me really mad was the actual costumer experience.
