I just moved to a neighborhood nearby and my son wanted to take me to the Wetmore Beach house so that I could try some of the local fare. Can I just tell you how pleasantly surprised I was to find this gem in what felt like a random location. It is very convenient if you are driving down Wetmore Road, but there aren't a whole lot of shops around that would draw people there on a regular basis. It is in a strip mall area next to the Circle K. You can't miss it because it looks like a tiki type bar and grill you might see at Port A or South Padre. We went on a weekday, during lunch, so it wasn't crowded at that time. It was bar service only since most of the staff don't come in until around dinner time. However, the woman behind the bar was so friendly. I felt right at home. The food came out quicker than expected. Both my son and I had very large portions of ceviche and as an appetizer, we got jalapeños stuffed with brisket and cream cheese, wrapped in bacon. They were so so good. I could've eaten 12 of them all by myself. There were only four, unfortunately. I cannot recommend their food more. It was fantastic. We enjoyed sitting outside in the beach hut area, which also had an outdoor bar hut and a small stage for acoustic entertainment on the weekends . The vibe was so chill, we're definitely coming back. The food was a little pricier than expected, but for a rare lunch out, it seemed ok to splurge, and honestly, it was worth it. read more

I went for the food and the atmosphere last Friday afternoon. The band that was there was so loud that I had to go outside to enjoy my food and beer. When ordering the bartender and I had to scream at each other. If the bar cannot or will not control the volume of the band, i will not patronize during those times. read more

This place took my card and charged me an extra $20. I only ordered one $4 bloody mary (it was so salty it was almost undrinkable) and a topo chico. When I asked about the charge I was told that was standard and some places charge more and that it will eventually drop off my card. I have never had anyone add a $20 fee. Very shady. I never dealt with this here before and was never told of this "standard charge" the last time I played trivia here. I will never return and be real careful if you use card. I cannot believe I gave them a good review. I will update if money was returned.or not returned in a week. read more

I've been coming to Wetmore City Limits off and on for many years, and the transition to Wetmore Beach House was astounding--kudos for that! The atmosphere is completely on-point. However, the customer service from one of the female bartenders leaves much to be desired. While she started out decent a few months ago, her service has become consistently inconsistent, often showing a condescending attitude toward myself and other guests. Management needs to be aware of this behavior. I'll still come back because I love the space, but I really hope to see an improvement in professionalism at the bar. read more

We stopped by Skinny Pig and were so disappointed that they had no food and limited cocktails, contrary to what their website indicates, that we went to Wetmore Beach House. This was my first time coming to this location. Service to me was just awful. It was quite busy on a Friday night. The bartender was just not happy and she seemed to not even want to be serving. I just feel like she was not friendly and gave a rude tone. Being that this was my first time here it is sad to be served with such a dismissive attitude. This bar is in a good location and I was there to hear a band which that was what really made the night better. I did notice they do serve food, but I did not order. We came to San Antonio for my wife's birthday and found out they were jamming at the Wetmore Beach House it was a great show. Walked in and immediately liked the ambiance. The place a nice chill and relaxed vibe. The patio is great. Lots of seating and TVs. The bartender was great and very friendly. The drinks were amazing and came out super quick. We didn't eat so not sure about the food. My one suggestion is for the bar to add a signature drink or 2 to their menu. This place has the worst bartenders I've ever seen. There was an older men serving I stood there for almost 30 mins waiting even though I was next he ignore me and took everyone's order. I had to walk back to table without anything. A older lady with short hair finally took my order after I stood there waiting with a horrible attitude. The drinks were so bad. I asked for topo chico she put literal sprite in my drink we when back to ask extra shot cause my friends margarita was undrinkable. I had to play the invisible game again. This place is always amazing, the staff and the people treat everyone like family and are always so friendly. The food is SO good especially the wings and fried pickles. There's usually some sort of event going on and the owners are always involved in the community. Saw a post about their crawfish boil starting at 2PM, so we decided to check it out. We got there right at 2, and they told us they weren't even close to ready and to come back at 3. Came back at 3... still nothing. Then we were told it'd be another hour. Seriously? If you're going to advertise an event, at least be prepared. Super unprofessional and a waste of time. We tried this place yesterday for happy hour & when we asked what was included. The bartender said everything, but would not provide any details, on anything, and said everything would be a good deal. I ordered wine & they were $10.42 a glass. I don't consider that a happy hour price. When I asked her about the price on the receipt she said oh yeah that wine is usually 11 something a glass.
