I've been reading all the good reviews about this place for a while now so we finally decided to meet friends there for a late lunch. The lunch menu is the same as the dinner menu. This restaurant is located in Fairfield, PA. They need to update the address on their website. We were directed to 989 Track Rd. but the actual address is 2789 Track Rd. I don't have any explanation for this discrepancy. This is a very casual place; the dining area is open to the bar, which I don't particularly care for, but it was clean. There is also a covered deck outside where you can sit and have your meal as well. The plastic bucket in the middle of the table was meant to be the communal waste can for discarded crab shells, shrimp skins, paper trash, etc. I guess it was a handy thing to have if you're eating crabs but kind of disgusting if you're not. I'd prefer NOT to have to look at the discarded remains of my fellow dining partners meals. My girlfriend and I each ordered wine; she a White Zinfandel and for myself a Pinot Grigio. Both were such an inexpensive version and so sickeningly sweet that we both winced when we took a sip. Hubby was happy with his Stella on tap. It's more of a beer place. My friend and I split an appetizer of peel and eat shrimp. They really were delicious and were more than just Old Bay Seafood seasoning; there was just something that made them really tasty. I tried one of her hush puppies and it was probably the best hush puppy I've ever eaten. My Crab Imperial was OK. It wasn't creamy. It was kind of chunky which was a little bit offputting. I'm not sure what type of crab was used‍The baked potato was way overcooked and had so much butter on it that I couldn't taste the potato. It was just a mushy greasy mess. Our salads came in such small plastic bowls that mine tipped over the first time I put my fork inside. My hubby's fish was outstanding and my girlfriend's husband gobbled up his dinner, so I'm assuming it was really good as well. Overall, it was ok ... We went yesterday, I had the scallops paying $6 dollars extra to have them broiled well they were delivered to me not broiled and salted and peppered so bad it was just nasty, made my mouth burn. Hubs ordered a pound of steamed shrimp that had no seasoning on it at all, a plate of French fries that were stale and a side salad that was warm and contained a mountain of croutons 3 tiny tomatoes and wilted lettuce. Very affordable food here - shocking actually for steaks. We typically pay twice the menu price for steaks back home in Texas. But I came for seafood because we're close to the coast. First the basics: The restaurant was charming. Off the beaten road, there was plenty of space to move and it felt clean and not over decorated inside. Staff were friendly. Our table ordered the crab dip. It was served with garlic bread slices. The dip was a little over salted and the bread should have been toasted more to offset the softness of the dip. For my main I ordered the crab imperial stuffed flounder with coleslaw and hush puppies. Again, the crab was over salted but the flounder was perfect. The coleslaw had excellent flavor and a lot of sauce, which was nice for dipping the hush puppies. The serving portion of the hush puppies was actually an appetizer size. We came back here a couple weeks ago just to try it because my last couple experiences were not good. We got the crab legs and shrimp. Meal thing. The shrimp are absolutely terrible like barely any seasoning on them. They were cold crab legs were like old and overcooked couldn't even get the meat out of them.The crab soup I wouldn't even say it was crab soup. It was more like vegetable soup. This is the third time we've been to this crab house. We always get the AUCE special. Today it was $65 per person. Wish my other classmate that rEad the description told me that's why he didn't oRder it.. it looked BOiLED lol 4 clusters of the snow crab legs- what a deal!!!! It was cold and old bay seasoning all over it with a side of butter. It was all over cooked. All the meAt was shrunk, dry and rubbery where the legs wouldn't even crack. Hush puppies- delicious!!!!!!!!! Cole slaw- okay. Normal. My classmate stated his crab cream soup was delicious. I wish ordered that with the hush puppies. The crab cakes are made from crab lumped meat chunks, the waitress explained. It sounded like it was canned crab meat. I was pretty hYped and excited because the instructor hyped it up. Let me begin by saying my dining experience started off well. My entire academy class elected to choose this place as our "class dinner" before we all parted ways and went home to our respective departments. I understand that when a table of our size is being served there should be a small allowance for human error. I ordered the Fire Academy Special, which is a Steak cooked to your liking and a generous portion of crab legs for $35.95 plus tax. It was brought out on 2 different servings and the crab legs were the first to come out. The crab legs were slightly overcooked, but nothing major. Still good flavor and still palatable, I enjoyed them and had no problems other than the crab meat sticking to the shell and not having anything supplied to crack them open. The steak came out second and when I received it, the steak looked good from the outside. When I cut into the steak it was noticeably overcooked, I ordered the steak as "rare", instead I received what was more closely a medium well to well done steak. I pushed my steak to the side and waited for our waitress to return. She passed by a couple of times but never stopped to check where I was and I tried to catch her attention, but she never acknowledged me. The ONLY time I was able to speak to her was when she brought the bill out. She asked if I wanted a box, I was relatively frustrated at this time, I told her "no, I'd like it taken off of my bill". She asked what the problem was and I told her it was very overcooked and I had been trying to get her attention for well over 20 minutes prior. She seemed annoyed by my request and she told me she would "see what she can do". Upon her return she informed me that all "late meals" were $35.95 regardless, upon seeing my expression she said to hold on and disappeared again. She returned and told me the best they could do was take $5.00 off the bill. Yes, you read that right. Reduce my bill by $5.00 for the 16 ounce porterhouse that I tried ONE bite of before pushing it away. After I paid my bill for a steak that I didn't get to enjoy she made it a point to tell me "I'm sorry that YOU weren't happy with your steak." With the only thing entering my mind being frustration for the lack of accountability for a steak THEY drastically overcooked and felt justified in only reducing a bill $5.00. They couldn't even be bothered to consider offering to remake the steak for me (which I would have gladly accepted). Pictures are included for your own assessments, but I can promise that I will never return for the poor customer service following a simple complaint. I will make sure to share me experience with EVERY fireman that I know who will attend the National Fire Academy. I'm a reasonable person, the fact that I am even writing this review should reflect on my extreme dissatisfaction, a fair bill reduction or remaking the steak would've avoided all of this. read more

A roadhouse, but with crabs and other seafood. Complete with wood floors and heavy paper on the tables, plus everyone is slamming away with their crab mallets and making an amazingly delicious mess. I'm not a fan of crabs (they look like huge sea bugs) but I'm fine with them if someone else is taking them out of the shell. So I went with the crab cakes. They didn't take long before they were brought to my table and I could dig in. Nearly all crab with very little breading, it was held together pretty well. It didn't need any of the tartar sauce that came with it, but a little lemon squeeze did well. Not much for beers here. Lots of the macro brews, but my Blue Moon did come with the usual orange wedge so that's okay. Service is friendly and rather casual. There's nothing wrong with that. read more

There's seafood restaurants and then there's crab fests. This is the place for the latter. You will not reject going for the All-You-Can-Eat Crab. Whole crab, crab legs, crab cakes, and sides. It is overwhelming yet delicious all at the same time. Visiting extended family for the holidays, I am not too familiar with the area but I will say it seems a bit off the beaten path. But trust me when I say that path is worth adding to your route. The place must hold 100+ people and there is outdoor seating (with a full bar as well). It's like a giant log cabin and seafood house packed into one space. Then you have a top notch team willing to make your every request happen. More crab? Got it. More hot butter? Here it is. More drinks or change in order? No problem. Needless to say, I was impressed. Though others at the table went for the crab, I had to sample the rest. The Seafood Platter was the perfect option as it had fish, crab cake, fries, coleslaw and more. I wish I could've ate more, but if I had I would have lacked the strength to visit other family. This has been a place I visit every time I visit family in PA. I am from AA County Maryland, and understand that it will not be like the best crab houses in Annapolis, but still found it decent and reasonably priced for all you can eat. This last time though my wife, sins, and parents went and it was bot great. My wife and I had the all you can eat crabs. They were light, small, twoce or thrice cooked/boiled. You could tell they were ild and reheated. The crab meat was mush...like a paste. For 70 dollars a person you expert more. The snow crabs were not bad , and it came with a floury cream of crab soup, dried chicken , and a pedestrian side salad. My son had a burger , not bad - and the other had fried shrimp....it was decent. They split a dozen expensive crabs - again, ok, but to good. They were better than the all you can eat, but not by much. We also made the mistake of sitting outside and the fans were not real strong and the flies were out of hand. All in fall a very expensive substandard dinner. As much good times Inhave had with fsniky here, I think it as my last time. read more

Recently moved to PA from Eastern Long Island (New York) which is renowned for its seafood, delivered fresh to the restaurants from the boats of local fisherman. A chance stumbling upon Dave and Jane's Crabhouse Restaurant was like "winning a jackpot and finding the pearl in the oyster". The joint was jumping with many people out for an evening of good company, great conversations and truly DELICIOUS FOOD. From the extremely friendly bartenders, super efficient waitstaff (who knew the menu and it's ingredients very well) and to a chance encounter with a gentleman named Jerome - who welcomed my family to PA and truly made us feel at home. Ayce crabs... not worth coming to this resturant. 1st time here and will not come back. First two trays of hard shell crabs were cold and old. The meat was rubbery and didnt not come out of the shell easy. Had to ask for fresh hot crabs. So we waited, which is totally ok. The next two trays were fresh and hot. Much better, til the last tray you tell they were just reheated, they were just as bad as the first, just warm. The waitess ignored us at times as she was more attentive to the table next to us (she knew them). She refilled my husbands drink when asked however mine was never refilled. Grateful for the staff being so accommodating for fitting in our party of 25 with only a 20minute advance notification. My family and I were in the area following my sister's soccer game and decided to stop in for a family dinner. Granted the restaurant wasn't full, but still had a great deal of clients. Many people in our party ordered steaks and mostly every plate was empty at the end. Those of us who opted for the crabs, shrimp and crab legs were satisfied with the flavor and assortment. However, the broiled snow crab legs were cold when served which was a bit disappointing. The fries were delicious as was the hush puppies and even the pizza was a hit with the kids. Dessert was also a treat! The chocolate fudge cake was surprisingly good and not overwhelmingly sweet! The fresh vanilla ice cream scoops were a great end to our meal. Our first time back in many years due to lackluster history. Got in and seated within minutes, which was the best part of our evening. I ordered the seafood platter, which consisted of fried shrimp, crab cake, filet of fish, scallops, and choice of clams or oysters (I ordered clams), hubby got an 8 oz filet with steamed shrimp, cluster of crab legs and cream of crab soup. My platter was over fried and nothing was good or had flavor. Blah at best. Hubby's order was a tad better as he said steak was tasty, the cream of crab was mediocre and more pudding like consistency than a soup. The steamed shrimp was as average, no seasoning.
