This bar/Restaurant has a lot of flair to it. Good "sporty" and warm atmosphere. My girlfriend and I went on wing night, great value for what you get, big, breaded wings. You can mix and match the sauces. I had a Caesar salad (surprisingly fresh!) but loaded with sauce, and 15wings, and I was satisfied. If your just looking for a low key, casual night with a few buddies or significant other, where you don't have to get dolled up for, this is the place to go. read more

Often a hot spot especially on a Thursday night for wings. Make sure that you are there early so that they do not run out. Walking into Dave's is like walking in Cheers you see the locals there at the bar enjoying the big screen TVs that are placed all over the bar. For those who like the machines well yes they have those too and even pool tables located in a separate room off of the bar. When I go me be a spicy lover I get the hot ones normally 10. The batter is great and the sauce is a mix of spicy and juice. YUMMY. As well I have seen many plates of Nachos or potato skins pass me by and by the look and the smell of there too are delicious. I do have to contain myself to some degree so I stick to the wings. Oh Dave Doolittles...the neighbourhood dive bar that could. I don't look fondly upon many of the strip mall watering holes in the Dartmouth area but I'm not mad at this one. Still, it's worth pointing out that this one hasn't bridged the gap between old-man-hangout and cheap-student-hotspot yet. So if you're headed this way, you're in for a true dive bar crowd, not an ironic hipster joint with low beer prices. Oddly dark inside at all hours of the day, including during their weekend brunch buffet (which, yes - I have had but not in recent years so I can't really comment), it's not a place that I'd be dying to spend a lot of time but a surprisingly friendly team of staff and charming community involvement (fundraising venue, etc.) tend to bring me back once a year or so. Not a place to get too excited about, but perfect for that afternoon that you want to drop off the grid and drink like it's 11pm shortly after lunch. read more

Ugh, what a dive bar....haha. It's not like I wasn't expecting that when I drove up to the place. Looks weren't deceiving. It's honestly like this place opened up 30 years ago and the same people that were going are still going there - not that there's anything wrong with that. It's just that it seems like that there's no effort to change or improve. There are VLTs, pool tables, etc. the usual stuff. There were about 6 of us grabbing some lunch....maybe 2 of us liked our food. I had the chicken and chips and a steak. Haha. My buddy didn't want his, so he gave it to me - lucky for calorie count it wasn't very good and I only took 2 bites. I've only had this happen to me at the Old Port and here - but I got chicken & chips, and everything tasted like fish - like they don't use separate fryers or that they didn't clean their fryers in a while. =/ read more

If I'm a local, this would be a regular hang out. The decor & atmosphere is similar to Dooley's, or Riverside; you know general sports bar. The menu did look varied, the drinks was standard fair. The service was nice & quick. We did go on Sunday lunch time. I'm sure evening would be a bit more busy. Louisiana chicken sandwich and a tall cold Canadian came up to ~16$ so it was on average. Taste wise, it needed some work. I'm sure there are a few dishes that are spot on. Plenty of seating configs for small or larger groups and lots of distractions if you are planning a few hours here with the boys/girls and waiting for your DD drive back home... in 6 hours. If you like hole in the wall bars, Dave's is a 10 out of 10. All it is is a greasy little dive bar. Lots of personality though, and there are a ton of regulars. The wings at wing night are good, and the food and beer are all relatively well priced. When I used to go out more, Dave's was a common drinking spot, and the servers knew my friends and I by name. Just be careful on Friday night... Kareoke is super fun, but it can get a little sketchy once the dancefloor opens up. read more

One of the better places in Dartmouth to get real hardy bar food. The food is of an excellent quality, tastes very fresh and homemade. Servings are very generous in size and the prices are very reasonable. The menu is quite large though so some food may be better than others. The decor of the restaruant does feel quite dated though, and is one of the only negative things I have to say about this restaurant. read more

Grabbed dinner at this location, which is unusual, as we tend to only visit the venue for wing night, or the weekend brunch buffet (which are both okay, good value for $$$). I ordered the chicken fajitas, and my husband got the roast beef dinner. Although I have no real complaints with the fajitas, they were fresh, hot, and it was a good portion, we were disappointed in his meal. The mashed potatoes were cold in the middle (as in, I stuck my finger into it and it was fridge cold), there was not enough gravy to have with them, and the vegetables were pale from being over-cooked. I slid the potatoes off of his plate onto a saucer and asked if they could be heated up, the waitress was very accomodating, however, they were not returned until after he had finished his meal, and then were wasted as they were just plain potatoes without gravy, etc. Although she was apologetic, she seen that they were not eaten, and instead of knocking a buck off of his order, nothing was done. The order was the two dinners, a $6-$8 dollar app, and 1 pepsi. With tip, was approx $45-$50. The decor lacks luster I will admit, and the sides/underneath of the tables need a good wipe down as they are quite sticky. Friendly staff, and good chicken wings may get us back on a Wed/Thurs night, but no more random stops for a "real" dinner. read more

Usually decent for wings however we went Thursday and the wings came out quite quickly (which should've been our first clue since they're usually pretty slow). The looked less crispy than usual. Digging in we noticed the larger wings were still bloody, definitely undercooked and some of them smelled extremely rotten. No one asked how our food was from start to finish. We paid our bill & likely won't go back again. Disappointing from our usual decent experiences. read more

This place is alright if you're looking for wings for french fries. If you want a steak, salad, or good burger, find another place. Doolittles isn't meant for a pub connoisseur - its meant as a place to drink beer and snack on fried food. read more

My family and I ate at Doolittles on Friday night for their 1$ a rib night. I was pleasantly surprised by how amazingly mouth watering the ribs are. We each ordered a half rack. And they were absolutly, hands down, the best ribs we ever had. We had no complaints about the food or the service. read more

All I can say is, I wish I lived closer to Dartmouth...I would be at this bar all the time... and especially when VCW Wrestling is being featured...such good food, such a lively crowd, and such an enthusiastic appreciation of many sports and a real spirit of community... This place does not get the exposure I think it should, delishious generours all you can eat brunch on Weekends, amazking wings 2 nights a week, friendly staff, and if you want to dance a Friday night away you can even do that here. Great spot! read more
