TBH The owner's wife is very accommodating. If I could POST ZERO Stars, I would. The husband/owner is an absolute piece of crap. Let me explain. I called to reserve a spot for two nights and the wife graciously tells me there is one spot open on the river. I tell her great, without asking the price and reserve the spot on Thursday. I call back and explain I would like to drop off my rtt trailer 6X6 in my spot early in the morning 5am (without setting up) and on the other end of the phone is a booming voice the F*U*K he will and he goes off for about 2 minutes. Now mind you this is not my first time doing this, yet this guy continues to berate me over the phone, then when I ask to talk to him he says he was yelling at his wife. Ya OK. So I tell him that I was planning on driving almost three hours to fish the Deerfield with my son and ask to drop it off in the spot. YA YA whatever is his response. To be accommodating, I do not leave as I wanted to arrive at 5am as he didn't want me to disturb his other guests, yet wants to charge me for the first night even though I wouldn't be there. We arrive at 7am and wait until I see lots of campfires going and people walking around. At 7:15 I call the office line and he is angry already, saying I woke him up and that check in isn't until 12:00 noon, even though I have been charged for the previous night and had permission to be there at 5am by him and his wife. This guy lets me drive almost three hours with my son, then gives me wrong directions to my spot and drives down LOUDLY saying are you down driving all around my property. I calmly explain I used the directions they gave me and they sent me the wrong way. He then states that we won't be doing this again to which, I said what again. You are right. Then he says you can leave. TBH I was thankful, as the spot he "gave" us was sandwiched between 30+ other tents along maybe 250 foot stretch of river front, all of which were awake and up cooking and getting ready for the day. You are right on top of one another, so much so you can hear others' conversations just sitting there. I said no problem, just give me a refund and I will leave. F*u*k YOU. I will call the cops if you don't leave. Apparently he was waiting to kick me out knowing I was driving the 2.5 hrs+ to the camp site with my son, because when he said he was yelling at his wife, I said that was no way to speak to his wife, with a 1st time customer on the phone. So I drove to the office and called the number to get my refund, at which time he drove up, as I am calling out to him he looks back and slams the door and refuses to pick up the phone. Drove about 15 min toward N. Adams and expailned the situation to a couple of people asking for another campsite, both locals pointed me to two other sites, but both had similar experiences with the owner, husband - not the wife. Choice and descriptive words about him, my GOD! Locals know him I guess. Still had a great time in Western MA - went out to N Adams and fished the Hoosic - caught five brookies and 1 brown all natives. Spent the night near Sawyer Pond VT and found another FREE places to camp almost like RTT in the wilderness - State allowed. I got my money back by doing a charge back. If anyone has ever had an issue with this guy, all you need do is call your credit card company explain the situation, and if no services were received the Credit Card Company - against his will, will pull the funds and place them back on your card, even with his NO REFUND POLICY. He will then get charged a "CHARGE BACK" which costs him an additional $25-$50 per and he gets a mark against his VISA/MC account. Customer have rights and he cannot steal your money. So in the end, He lost $50 plus two night rental fees, for his effort, and we found a new campsite and fishing spot. Turned what could have been a terrible time into an adventure and made some good memories!

Verbally assaulted by owners wife after departed buildin while my 13 year old son and i were in parking lot, Owners wife seemed to be in a heated rage. As I was honest on serving portions and service, I was aggressively and verbally attacked in front of my 13 year son who had just won an outstanding ball game for the local high school. Found the management/owners wife to be rude and very disrespectful towards my child and I. Personally I plan to report this to the town of Charlemont and better business bureau, where restuarant is located. Understand this business does not respect one another as owners and Customers, in it for the dollar. God bless this couple can find happiness.

There was a consistent breeze next to the water, which helped reduce bugs. The sites were very clean and spacious. It's a beautiful camp ground to walk around and there is a trail that goes around the reservoir. Hearing the Loons at dusk/dawn was almost ethereal. Highly recommend!

When you drive in to the resort, the Aerial Adventure park is visible right away. When I first saw it, it seemed smaller than I expected and I thought we would be done in a flash. Let me assure you, the aerial adventure course is a LOT more complex than it looks and it was fun and challenging for all of us, from teens to older adults. There are two levels to the course - first you do the lower level and then if you want to try the more challenging higher level you move on to that. Both levels are included in your ticket. Each section of the course is unique: some have zip lines, there are some climbing sections to get from one point to another, some have balance activities, and some rely on strength and ingenuity. Everyone wears a harness, so you are always safe (I did end up dangling a few times and was grateful for the harness!). Staff here is awesome and they train you before you go up into the course. The Mountain Coaster is also fun, although when we went around noon on a summer Friday, we had to wait in line for about 45 minutes to get on. I am a scaredy cat when it comes to roller coasters, but I LOVED the Mountain Coaster, where I go to zip down a mountain surrounded by trees and nature, and I could control the speed. I would love to do this again, but would plan to go earlier in the morning to hopefully avoid the crowds.

I tent camped here 30 years ago as a teen and returned this summer in the RV with my wife. It looks pretty much and my experience was essentially the same as it was in 1984, quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The nearby river was a welcome cooling off point after a long day hiking Bald Mountain. It was quite interesting to see kids actually playing horse shoes, badminton and playing on the jungle gym. There was even a sing along with some of the campers in the middle of the field, it was as if I was in a back to the future episode, but this time I was in 1985. It was fantastic.

Sites are privates and well maintained with a variety of tent sites, platform sites and lean-ons. Clean bathrooms and coin operated showers. Large grassy area for the kids to play. Basketball hoops and a variety of balls available to borrow. Saturday night, Gary pulls out his guitar and invites everyone to join in for an hour of music and signing. The most important reason we go back! Pat and Gary are full of ideas and suggestions about the area. We simply fell in love with it all!

My family has been going to this camp ground for 15 years, and we aren't hillbillies who need to get back on our feet. We leave our camper up there year round, and while we dont have a "post and beam" porch attached to it, i can tell you that the people who do, are also well off and not trying to get back up on their feet. This campground is not for everyone it's a small camp ground where everyone knows eachother. Since its so close to the State Park they are REQUIRED to put up the private property signs. The owner lives in the main house that she is talking about and there is an office attached. It clearly says "MAIN OFFICE" on it so I'm not to sure what they were looking at. If you are looking for a peaceful campground with lots of friendly people and some peace and quiet with a short walk to a beautiful beach and boating area then this is a great camp ground. If you are looking for a campground with a bunch of activities and things to do then this place is not for you.

Looking back, of course, I realize they aren't affiliated, the campground had "private campground" signs & the park is, of course, a state park. We were thinking, at least I was, when we first pulled up that with the state park so close by this would be a great local spot to go camping when we don't feel like driving 3 hours to the White Mountains, but I realized pretty quickly this was not the spot for us!! At first it looks really sweet, but we quickly realized this was no normal campground...... The sign is sweet, but then there are so other smaller signs attached to it, "NO TRESPASSING", "PRIVATE PROPERTY", "PRIVATE CAMPGROUND", "AREA UNDER VIDEO SURVEILLANCE"... What kind of normal campground has video surveillance?? Certainly none we've ever stayed at! And what campground has "NO TRESPASSING" & "PRIVATE PROPERTY" signs?? It's not welcoming at all! We realized after driving through quickly that that's exactly what they want..... So the main house is really just a house, there's no "welcoming" office area or even kiosk. As someone who has camped plenty, I can tell you that this is very odd. No parking spots in front of the main house either. Also odd. We drove up to the right of the house & saw a gentleman outside who spotted us & I had the husband flag him down. He asked him why the park was closed & if we could access the beach from the campground, for a fee. He said no, due to high water, the lake was flooded & closed so the beach & park was closed to fishing & swimming. We thanked him & drove the narrow road around the house, past at least a dozen or so "camping" sites, & left as quickly as we could. NOW, to the reason this place gave us the creeps & why we certainly won't be staying here even though I was considering it..... This is not a real campground...... I think maybe their taxes are lower or they have fewer fees with the town because they registered as a campground? I don't know enough about the zoning laws & fees & regulations but that's the only thing I can think of. I saw only ONE REAL, true camp site, with a couple on it and plenty of wooded land around their site, a fire pit, & they had a pop-up camper, & they clearly did not LIVE there year-round..... And then there were the "sites" surrounding the main house...... Oh goodness. Talk about banjos..... I felt like we were driving threw rural Pennsylvania, and yes, I have been to rural, north-western Pennsylvania, so I know what I'm comparing this place to. There were camping trailers, single-wide trailers, etc, obviously converted to year-round residences. They were crammed together, not like any camp sites I've ever seen, more like a run-down trailer park. Permanent post-and-beam structures were affixed to single-wide trailers to help prop them up & give them a porch, extra living space, etc, so, yeah, they weren't camping, they were there year-round. Again, I've done plenty of camping, I've seen what people do to seasonal trailers when they leave the trailers there all summer, putting a deck up to their door, popping up gazebo outside, etc, they do NOT put skirting around the trailer foundation & they do not affix post-and-beam additions & porches to their trailers... I felt compelled to write a review because, honestly, I'd be extremely unhappy if I came from out of state & drove several hours all to stay in a run-down trailer park masquerading as a campground! It also doesn't make the fine state of New Hampshire look good at all... I've lived here for most of my life & I can tell you I never seen ANYTHING even CLOSE to this place!! Even in rural NH... I can appreciate that some people get hit with a run of bad luck & need somewhere to get back on their feet, or maybe some people just don't care, who knows, but I think it's lousy that whoever owns this campground is trying to get around local laws & regulations (again, I'm not familiar with zoning/laws/etc but that's the only thing I can think of because clearly this is NOT a campground) by claiming to be a private campground when this is clearly a trailer park with at least one real campsite... When we stumbled across this place I was initially excited thinking I'd found a great place to camp, locally, on 3 day weekends or whatever. But after 5 seconds driving around the grounds I will stay as far away from this place as I can & would encourage anyone looking for a REAL campground to do the same!

Oh my goodness! I can't believe I forgot to write a review for this spot on my last ski trip! This…read morelittle gem is located at the base of Mount Snow and a short drive from Stowe. It is absolutely hilarious for people watching and there are tons of cool locals to talk to. The drink prices are reasonable but when I visited, they were only accepted cash. It's not fancy, but totally fun.
