They were contracted by our Home Warranty "American Home Shield". GE Washer was a problem. Door would not open with clothes stuck inside. The tech was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He had to return twice, no fault of their own, due to warranty requests. Ended up that Warranty would not pay to replace the "mother boards".... but instead decided to buy us out. But it wasn't enough to cover a new washer. We've since change warranty companies from American Home Shield to First American Home Warranty. It's 1/2 the monthly coast and we will see how they do. As for Dave Taylor appliance, if we need an appliance repair company, I'd want to use them again. read more

Our ice maker stopped working so we contacted our home warranty provider who dispatched Dave Taylor Appliance repair. They proactively communicated with us regarding our scheduled appointment. On the day of the appointment Jeremy called to let us know he was on his way. He diagnosed the problem very quickly and even followed up to let me know he'd completed everything he needed to for our home warranty provider. Scheduled through home warranty.. be there 1-5.. no problem, someone was there at 12:30.. they called one of the two primary numbers on file. I was in the store for 20 minutes, the other responsible party (home owner) was never contacted. I had an extremely unfortunate experience with Dave Taylor Appliance. I was called last month and was pressured by Caitlin to pay an invoice from May last year (2023). I am an elderly person and felt pressured so I paid with my credit card. After researching, I found two copies of paid invoices from Dave Taylor Appliances from last April & May. I emailed the paid invoices to Caitlin and she stated they would send me a check in the mail. After almost three weeks and not receiving the check, I called them. They said that even though, they made an error and even though I have proof of the two paid invoices from last year, they will not be sending me a check. I did not even receive a call from them telling me they decided not to reimburse me. Please be careful with business transactions with this company. read more

This company may have been really good at one time. Not now. Needed a part replaced on a 3 year old washing machine. Took several days to get a person to look at the washer. The repair person said a new part was needed. It took a week to get the part and schedule another appointment. Probably not bad in this day and age. The part that came didn't even look like the part to be replaced even though the repair person swore it had the same inventory number. The repair person spent quite a bit of time looking at the instruction manual which didn't instill much confidence. After some time, the repair person said the new, replacement part was broken and a new one would have to be ordered with another week's wait at least. And again, a part that didn't match the original? We suspect the part broke when it was put into a space it didn't fit (see above, that the replacement didn't even look like the original part) We were concerned at this point that if a new part was put into the washer that it would have been jury-rigged and the washer might never work properly again. We had no confidence that the repair would be made or that the machine would work correctly. We made the decision to go another route rather than Dave Taylor Appliance. BUT we certainly did get Dave Taylor's bill for work that was never completed. And the repairman gets off because he'll get paid even though he didn't complete the job and may have broken the part. read more

My washer was leaking water and had a vibration issue. Jason came out o check my washer, and took it apart, ran a couple loads to check for leaks in the washer. He didn't see anything, put the washer back together, said all is good and that will be $210.00. After he left the water start coming out onto the floor and I texted Jason, and he said he couldn't come back for awhile (2 weeks), I stated I didn't want another service charge as the problem was not fixed. He stated he would need to talk with his "Dad". Never heard back, I tried to check status via text, no response. I finally pulled the washer out (I am a elderly person, so this was hard) and I could see the hot water hose was leaking at the attachment to the washer. I got a new hose and fixed it myself. Moral of this story "Don't call Dave Taylor Appliance Service" use someone else! read more

Our LG gas dryer stopped heating approaching Christmas holidays. I called all appliance repairs in South Lake Tahoe area. Some were super busy and others do not work on LG dryer repair. In desperate need of drying clothes in the winter, I called Dave Taylor Appliance from Gardnerville, NV. Jason was able to come much sooner than others and fixed it right away. Even though they charged a small fee to go out of their normal service range, the total cost is actually lower than a simple service visit from a local repair shop. Highly recommended! If not having them come to our rescue, we would probably order a new dryer because these days there are just not many repair shops around. If I could give no star I would. The technician who came to service our appliance is named Jason and he is a son of the owner who I assume is also a liar. Jason took a chunk out of my floor while looking at my fridge and after explaining to us he would handle it he then told his father he had no clue what we were talking about and hadn't damaged anything. This business has no pride or honor and I would highly recommend you go someplace else for your repairs or installations or at least take a video if you get Jason so you can prove any claims of damage you might have against him. read more

I found the service from these folks to be terrific. Jason came out and within a few minutes he had the issue on our Washer isolated. The problem was a broken wire on the motor. He had also pulled up a recall notice for the unit and learned there was a fire/shock risk due to this very issue. But Jason didn't stop there. He made sure I had the recall number, my model number, serial number and phone number to call in to the company for the recall. Additionally, Jason coached me on how to ensure I received the full benefits from the company including a reimbursement for his service call. I learned a lot from this visit and will definitely save their number for any future appliance work. It is wonderful to know such quality workers exist in our area. Called this company to fix our ice maker. The tech showed up and allegedly fixed the problem and promptly presented my wife with an invoice for $120.00. we waited 3 days and or ice maker still was not working. called Dave Taylor Appliance and asked to have the tech come back and fix the problem correctly. appointment was scheduled. we received a call on the day of our appointment advising that their tech had been injured and we would have to be rescheduled. Tech arrived today , looked at the ice maker and said that the problem wasn't what he thought it was the first time and told me it would be $96.00 for the part and another $120 service call fee. I questioned the tech and asked why he didn't diagnose the problem correctly the first time. He became surely and borderline rude while attempting to explain why it wasn't fixed right the first time. Bottom line the problem should have been diagnosed properly the first time. Their tech was rude to me and to my wife and I will never use or recommend Dave Taylor Appliance again. My oven stopped heating and I needed it fixed. Call my usual appliance repair and the receptionist had no idea what oven brand I was telling her I had. (NXR) She asked a couple of times and then said she didn't even know if they repaired that brand. I told he to ask and they didn't, so I called Dave Taylor Appliance repair. The receptionist, Mimi, was very sweet and scheduled for a repair tech to come out. Jason was the tech that came out and he was very friendly and professional without being boring. He fixed my oven, checked my burners and adjusted the door and verified the temp was correct. It was great and I will now only use Dave Taylor's appliance repair for any repair work. On February 5th (a Saturday) we had to have an appliance man come out. Dave Taylor said they would come out, however, there would be an additional $175.00 cost -- (weekend rate) ... We accepted our fate. When the young man came to repair things, we talked with him about ordering a part. He was very nice about it, and he replied: "I'll order it for you on Monday of this coming week." We called the main office number five days later (a Friday) to follow up and to see how soon our dishwasher could be repaired. The following Monday (the 11th) a young lady called and told us how (1) the part has been ordered and (2) that she would call us within two days to tell us when our repairs could be done. No call ... no call ... no call. Three weeks later we gave up. It was just one day shy of a month up from our initial encounter. We needed a dishwasher, so we went to the store and purchased a new one ... Yes, COVID has impacted our lives and delivery times for parts, however, the young lady told us the part was in AND that she would schedule a time for repairing the machine. In other words: we don't recommend them, in good conscience we can't ... While their repair man was pleasant enough, their follow through concerning customer service was quite hopeless. How much effort does it take to call the customer and 'explain' why their repairs cannot be scheduled? Five minutes, if that. Our advice to you is to look elsewhere ... or go buy a new machine and eliminate the grinding irritation of non-service. read more

I had a 2Pm to 4Pm window time. I phoned the company at 4PM and asked if the tech was busy or why they were not here , also No Phone call from them at 4PM. At 5:30 PM Dave called to ask if the tech had showed, the answer was Not ONLY did they Not show up it has been 3 and 1half hours and there was No Call or Tech. My time is as valuable as the next guys. Dave apologized and stated he could have someone there in the AM. After 3 and 1 half hours with No Call And No show I was No Longer Interested in there service, $100 show up time + time and labor at this point is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE... My wife and I just moved into the Minden area and we were having some problems with our LG dryer shutting off prematurely. I called Dave's company and he returned my call. After explaining the nature of the dryer problem, he suggested that I take a leaf blower to the exhaust vent to blow out any potential blockage.
