My goodness! What a guy! I called another locksmith and they recommended Dave to me. He gave me a price, not a quote, (a rarity amongst locksmiths who are in the habit of giving only "service charges" to come out and then stacking on BS costs. But he gave me a solid price and stuck to it. He was on a job when I called him, but came right out when he was done. He was super ridiculously nice. Even though it took him longer than expected due to wear in my ignition, he got the job done and gave me 2 perfectly cut keys. The price was great, he even called me to let me know he would be a few minutes later than he told me because he was stuck in traffic. I wasn't unhappy about a single thing. We were having a stressful moving day into my son's first home. The seller's agent didn't bring all of the keys, as promised (we had already wAited 2 days), and when they dropped off the other keys, they didn't work! Dave the Key Man (his full name) came to my rescue, and I highly recommend him. I locked myself out of my apartment on New Year's Eve. After my landlord was unable to help, I tried calling maybe a half a dozen other locksmiths. All were either not on duty or were going to charge me over $150. One day my ignition switch got stuck in off position on my 2004 Chevy Silverado. I was refered to dave by one if my customers. I gave him a call and he was happy to come and help me. He arrived at my work in no time and went right to work. He told me that this was a common issue with the tumblers and was a simple fix. My 80 year old mother ended up locked out of her house when the lock on her front door failed. She had very little battery left on her cell phone, so she asked me to call a locksmith for her. I called Dave (from 400 miles away) based on Yelp reviews. He was every bit as good as people say. He was very friendly and polite on the phone with me. He was able to get to my mom in about 15 minutes, and fix the lock for her. He even made a copy of her key to test his work (so as not to ruin her key), and then gave it to her when he was done. Dave is a great example of master craftsman - the kind of breed I thought is slowly disappearing. He helped me replace all main entrance locks in my new home. He knows all the details and history of various kind of locks and keys used through the house, recommended and ordered replacement, stopped by to change those the day before I move in.
