The meat was just a chopped up burger patty nothing on it no cheese inside nothing. The green chilli seemed stale. My husband got a burger it was a hockey puck. The cheese smelled bad. While we were sitting down a dude walked in with a firearm in his back pocket and was staring at us. Asked for a soda and kept asking for a manager and then kept asking to take out the trash. This happened to be the only place we could find open on New Year's Day. Inside has a 50s diner feel. Our waitress was friendly and attentive which was impressive considering she was covering all the tables, bussing the tables and ringing up diners as they finished. The food was good. This is an awful restaurant. Service was not too great, and the food was just plain bad. The chef salad had warm limp lettuce and meats that looked like they came out of a package. The fries were burned, greasy and cold. I noted the people at the next table were served their meals a plate at a time. Long waits between plates for that family. The toast for my meal was served about 10 minutes after my other food and was burned. The owner of this restaurant if not present-- needs to show up. If the owner was there, he/she needs someone who can show them how to properly run a restaurant. read more

Disappointed. Cute decor, friendly (overworked) waitress, but the food....ugh! I ordered a combo plate. Xmas with posole. What I got, was a plate swimming in red chile, that tasted canned, no green, a tbs. of rice in stead of posole and a taco with no cheese. Another member of our party had a burger, again clearly not handmade, with overcooked, limp fries. 3rd person had a chicken quesadilla, which, was appetizer,not entree size, with the same yucky fries. So stick to Blake's for your burgers, and one of the many other good restaurants like Raphael's or Olivia's for northern NM food. Sign outside says open at 8am. Staff told me they were running a bit late & would open in 20 minutes. I waited for 45 & they didn't open, nor did they check in as I stood outside. I called & they didn't pick up until 9. I told them that they have lost my business forever & that I would spread the word. Not a good business model for a town this size. read more

Do not go here. Horrible food. Me and my husband got smothered breakfast burritos and a side shredded beef tacos. The ham burrito had one thick slice of ham, the chili tasted old and burnt. Sour. The bacon breakfast burritos seems likes it's make with rehydrate bacon bits. The tacos came with a side of rice that had the consistency of oatmeal. A very poor diner. Why are they even in business when they don't want to serve food?. Firstly I had to wait for a server although there were a few and they weren't busy. Secondly my burger was suppose to be served with lettuce, cheese, onion and tomatoes. It was a burger served with bun and cold French fries. How pathetic! Had a great experience today. The wait staff was great. Friendly and fast. Our food was perfect , had a Double patty burger no bun. Which they accommodate no prob. My lady had the club. Which was 10 stars. It looks great inside. The music was definitely taking me back. They even make their own lemon vinaigrette, which was great Definitely recommend. !!! read more

I have had several dinners and multiple breakfasts here and have found that the food and service are very good. There is not a better breakfast served in Las Vegas. The dinners are mostly sandwiches that are very good. I really enjoy the grilled chicken sandwich. The atmosphere is Route 66 like, hip-hop dinner. You like it,or you don't. read more

If I could not give a star I would. The best part of our experience was the waitress. She was great. Everything else, there are no words except this statement from my hubby. when we were driving back to Denver after visiting Santa Fe, New Mexico, we decided to stop in Las Vegas to grab some lunch. immediately, this restaurant looked very welcoming from the outside. Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted warmly. it was bright and sunny, and very clean. our waitress was super friendly, and when the food came out, it was hot and delicious. I would highly recommend this 50s themed restaurant. we have lots of relatives in Denver and New Mexico. Who frequently makes this trip, we've already referred to several family members. read more

We had a burger, chili cheese dog, a waffle, short stack pancakes with two eggs over easy. The pancakes with eggs were the only thing that was eatable and still nothing special at all. The hand cut fries were stale tasting, the chili on the hot dog was the worst chili I have ever tasted. The waffle was vanilla laced awful. The burger was a processed patty. Not sure it was meat. Cost 47 and change for really bad food. I gave them a 2 because the place did seem clean and the atmosphere was good, and the service was there. Stay away. read more

The breakfast was excellent. Just like you'd expect from a small town diner. The atmosphere was also enjoyable. Reminds you of a 50's diner, including music playing in the background. Food was just okay, typical greasy NM stuff. Husbands burger was a bit overcooked the bun was black on half the underside and his fries looked mostly unappetizing. My salad was okay but not great for the price in my opinion. it was kinda slow but not unbearable. She spoke fast and robotic-like when taking our order. The tall cheap diner tables were wobbly and rocked back and forth as you tried to eat your food. What a huge disappointment! We waited over an hour before we got our drinks, that's after we placed a 2nd order because they had forgotten what it was. After more than two hours and 3 waitresses later, we got our food with several missing items and mistakes to the orders. The food quality was horrible. Hamburgers were tasteless, the fries were not cooked well. The waffles were clearly not from a fresh batter but more like leggo my eggo type and the ham was canned. We had to get our own straws, napkins and condiments because they weren't provided to us. The owner couldn't even approach us with an apology when he arrived. Groups of people walked out because of the poor service. Needless to say we will never go back and will not recommend this place to anyone. read more

My virgin voyage to Dave's this morning.....wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. Was greeted by the cook as I entered - a total surprise, but then he was not that far from the front door - and he invited us to be seated wherever we wanted. Michaela - our waitperson - came over, took our drink order & then went to wait on other customers, but came back a bit later to get our food orders. Considering the fact that it was only her & the cook holding it down, I didn't feel like the wait for our food was overly long, but then I wasn't in a hurry, either. I had the Biscuits & Gravy plate and although the gravy was white - I grew up on tan/brown gravy - it was flavorful & seasoned just right. The food portion was such that a doggie box was unnecessary. The price was on point as well! Michaela was friendly & attentive. Although I don't eat out much, I will definitely add Dave's to my list when I feel like driving into into town for breakfast. Oh, & the music - it took me back to my grade/high school days, whatta treat to hear that music again! The overall ambiance was awesome. Since they've only been open about five months, I think folks should give 'em a chance to find their groove! read more
