Good food and service. Outdated hours posted on their website so you can't go by those.

It was an average Saturday night and we were on our way home, so we stopped. There were two waitstaff for the entire diner side. (The main dining room was being used by a party). So, in total, there were about 15 tables for 2 waitstaff. I should have known something was off at the beginning, when our waitress started off by telling us how she hadn't been able to eat herself, while taking our order. The whole time she complained about how she was slammed. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak with a salad, veg, mashed potatoes and gravy. His came out sans salad and completely cold. I ordered a grilled cheese with chips. I think that sandwich saw the flattop for a max of 10 seconds. The cheese hadn't melted and was still cold from the walkin. AND ALL OF THIS TOOK 35 minutes for our meal to arrive from order to delivery. And, as a bonus, the light was out in the ladies room and I almost knocked myself out, going into the stall. (The light, I learned later was outside the ladies restroom). It was absolutely miserable and we will be eating elsewhere when we go to Vegas.

A burnt cheese taco moment haha. The other two tacos were devoured and I barely came to my senses in time to click this pic.

But after we were served the two…read morehuge rellenos and ate one each with the ample portions of real beans and delicious rice we we both stuffed. So this lunch for two actually turned out to be a bargain. To me, the hallmark dish for Mexican food is the chili relleno. The cook on it here was absolutely perfect. It was lightly battered and fried to a gentle crisp on the outside. That is hard to do since not very many can accomplish it. The chili itself had enough crunch that I had to ask if it was fresh. (It was not and I did not expect so since it is not chili season.) The cheese on the inside was perfect. My kudos go to Olivia herself who is the cook here. The other lady cashier/waitperson was engaging and congenial. Sitting outside with the plaza around was delightful. The three white guys at another table said that this was the least expensive Mexican food in town. I wish that I lived near here so that I could try Olivia's other dishes. WARNING! The City of Las Vegas has installed some vicious speed bumps on the streets that go to the Plaza. They are unsigned and largely unmarked since the paint has worn off. Shame on them for mistreating their tourists that are trying to support the community

I will say that the tortillas were homemade and amazing. The green chili was spicy, but was really kind of blah. The waitress was very friendly and the service was quick. Maybe I just chose poorly from the menu (everything I had was centered around the green chili). My son had the chicken strip basket with fries and he loved the fries and said that the chicken was yummy. The coffee also wasn't anything to write home about. Feels like an old diner vibe and seems to be generally clean. Liked it, didn't love it. Next time I'm in Las Vegas I will try something different, not because it's bad but because there are probably better places.

They were so ridiculously good that I ordered another round... and then somehow another. Before I knew it, I'd inhaled nine sliders like I was training for the Olympic Competitive Munchies Team. Mission accomplished--the munchies were officially defeated. I paid my tab, waddled out the door, and went to smoke another dooby. Now I'm sitting here wondering... after this next dooby, am I about to march right back in there and order another round of sliders? The odds are looking pretty good. Happy trails, buckaroos! PS: I honestly couldn't tell you what they taste like under normal circumstances. But if you're higher than gas prices, those sliders are five-star fine dining.

We ordered a burrito, fries and drinks - a Manhattan for my wife and a chocolate martini with Kettle One and crème de cacao for me. My wife's drink was to her liking, but the chocolate martini tasted like there was coffee liqueur in it. Since I didn't know when our waitress would appear again, I told the first person we saw - a young man - that I couldn't drink anything with coffee because of the caffeine, and that I needed it remade. He took it back to redo. While we were waiting, one of the pool players dropped a very loud f-bomb when he missed a shot. Then a young child began crying very loudly. The young man came back with the remade drink, and the coffee taste was gone. After it had been over 45 minutes I had to ask what looked like the manager what had happened to our burrito and fries. She went back to check, and our food finally appeared. The burritos were long on rice and short on carne asada, something we couldn't know until we started eating. At some point our original waitress came back, and my wife told her we had to send back my first drink because of the coffee ingredient. She denied any coffee-containing spirit was used, and walked away. We never saw her again. I had to ask the manager for an itemized ticket, since the ones we had were sign for a total amount only, with no itemized detail. Since the original waitress had closed out our ticket right after we ordered and had given us our check, we paid and left. No tip was left. If you want a properly-mixed drink, be prepared to explicitly request every ingredient. Better still, don't expect great drinks or food at this place - stay away. There are lots of other choices in Las Vegas NM.

The reviews for this diner on DoorDash were pretty great, so we trusted those. Wish we had come here first to read these comments. My chef salad had no turkey or ham or hard-boiled egg on it, only grilled chicken (which I paid extra for), lettuce, cheese, and unfortunately tomato, to which I am allergic. I had specifically asked for the tomatoes to be withheld. My husband's taco salad was also bland and had cheese when he requested none. We also ordered two chicken sandwiches with fries. As reflected in previous reviews here, the fries were overcooked and very salty. My chicken sandwich, again, came with a tomato when I asked for none because of my allergies. The chicken sandwiches were also completely dry with no mayonnaise or sauce of any kind, so they were very bland as well. It seems like this place has been having problems for quite a while. Possibly time for a personnel change.
