As someone who rarely imbibes in sugary drinks, The Frozen Hi-C Flashin' Fruit Punch Slusher reminded me of mixing Kool-Aid packets at home w/ copious amounts of granulated sugar. The Slusher did have a Hawaiian Punch-reminiscent flavor, but a few sips were all I could manage. Top Loaded Fries- This was good. The highlights for me were the kale slaw & thick, crunchy pickles. An ample amount of fried chicken tenders & crinkle cut fries, the Top Loaded Fries provided a filling & satisfying lunch. Service was good. The wait was minimal for the fries. The interior dining area is a tad small, with more seating available outside. There is a Drive-Thru option, as well. Dave's Hot Chicken manages to compete with the other fried chicken chains in the area. While I would never order the Frozen Hi-C Flashin' Fruit Punch Slusher, again, the enticement of getting one for free brought me in, and the Top Loaded Fries satisfied the grease tooth (sweet tooth's less pretty cousin). When I went back to the counter to flag it, the cashier was dismissive and unapologetic. No acknowledgment, no sorry, just attitude. We were really excited to try Dave's Hot Chicken for the first time tonight, but unfortunately our experience didn't go as planned. We had just lost an hour of daylight for Daylight Saving Time, my son had finished playing a double header, and we were all starving. Since we'd never tried Dave's before, we figured it would be the perfect time to give it a shot. We ordered at 8:25 PM and waited... and waited. By 8:53 PM (28 minutes later), our food still wasn't ready. During that time it became pretty clear that dine-in customers were taking a back seat to the drive-thru and food delivery app orders. My husband finally went up to ask about our order, and the employee told him it would be "another 10 minutes." After already waiting almost half an hour with a very hungry kid, we were pretty disappointed and decided not to keep waiting. Unfortunately we didn't even get the chance to try the food. Walked in and no one was in the front. I saw people working in the back and looked up at us but no acknowledgment. After 7min or so someone came up to take our order. I don't get Dave's often, but when I do it always hits. Not this time around, I normally go inside and the art on the wall is cool but I tried going through the Drive-Thru and I kinda wished I didn't. Finished ordering at the Drive-Thru and arriving at the window there was only one car ahead, their parking lot was empty so I'm assuming little to no customers were inside, didn't expect to be waiting 15-20min before being able to pay and recieve my food. The food is good, have to get honey with your chicken, it's a must! I don't like pickles but something about Dave's pickles makes me like theirs. The staff is super friendly! And the service is quick too. I got lite mild Dave's #3 which is a tender, a slider, and fries. You can choose different spice levels for the tender and slider which I thought was really cool and perfect for trying out different spice levels. Everything was so good from the seasoning to the sauce and the fries. The fries are a bit on the softer side, it's not the crunchy, crispy kind. It's thick enough so that you can really feel like you're eating potato, but not too thick to the point that it's too much in one bite. The buns on the slider are very soft and a bit soggy, maybe from the sauce. I probably would prefer the buns to be a bit more structured, but overall, the whole slider tastes great! The vanilla shake was also really good! It's comparable or even better than in-n-out! I usually don't eat a lot of spicy foods, but I can tolerate some spiciness. The lite mild was very very mild in my opinion. It's barely spicy. I think I could have handled mild. The music is a bit loud, so it's a little hard to have a conversation. There's also plenty of outdoor seating with music as well. They have a small parking lot for you to park. I would recommend this place and come back for more! I remember when Dave's was just one location and the lines there were stupid long, like 20 people or more. Also the food was spectacular.
