There is a small AC split system that did an okay job with cooling the space down; but there was a lot of people seated inside as well. The food did take approximately 20 minutes to make; however, when it came out it was EXTREMELY hot and fresh! The server did forget to give us garlic fries but went back in and added TONS of garlic on the fries (per my extra garlic request) and it was DELICIOUS! The waffle fries were SO crispy. The G-Moe's cheesesteak was very hot, steamy, and full of meat. The meat to bread ratio was perfect in my opinion. Tons of garlic, mushrooms, and grilled onions. This used to be a taco spot a few years ago, and I've wanted to try this place since Monty's took over. The cashier said that their Jalapeño Pepper Patty Melt is one of their favorites, so I decided to get it. The patty and a can of Squirt cost me $18 with tip. The place is very clean and nicely decorated, and my order was ready in less than 10 minutes. The patty doesn't come with fries, so if you want fries, it'll cost about $7, and they serve a generous portion. Since it was our first time (thanks to tik tok!), Henry went over the menu and shared his personal favorites as well as the most popular among customers. He did tell us they are known for their sandwiches. We went with one breakfast burrito and the granada sandwich, respectfully. We had them cut in half too. We then decided to eat the burrito (she had half and I had half) and save the sandwich for dinner later that day. The breakfast burrito was pretty good. I would say 8/10. It was a good size as well which is why we shared it. Now, when we had the sandwich (shared as well) later for dinner OMG it was delicious!! Every ingredient mixed well together. So much flavor! I saw them on DoorDash, so I ordered the Legendary Chopped Cheese and Monty's #1 Chicken & Waffles, which comes with two crispy fried chicken on a Belgian waffle. The packaging for my order was nicely wrapped and delivered so no complaints there. Monty's Norwalk just opened in the last couple of months (though they do have another location in Alhambra that's been open much longer) and has been treating people to their favorite sandwiches (chicken/waffles combo) ever since! It's a small, quiet place, so not much seating when it gets busy, but there is some nice areas outside including around a fountain across the parking lot! The staff and owner are extremely helpful and friendly. They want to do whatever they can to make sure you have a good experience. We tried a number of items including Monty #1 (chicken and waffles), Granada, Pablano cheesesteak, the chopped cheese, and fries (both waffle and sweet potato). Everything was really good! The chicken and waffles were as good as you're going to get anywhere! The chopped cheese is basically a deconstructed cheeseburger. The Granada was a great balanced sandwich and the Pablano is an elevated cheesesteak experience. The best part of the experience is all the food is reasonably priced! We all ordered sandwiches, and despite there being no other customers in the restaurant, it took nearly 30 minutes for our food to come out. From what I've seen, they take an Angus beef patty and chop it up as it's grilling, add in grilled onions, American cheese, and then top with lettuce, tomatoes, pickled jalapeños, ketchup, and mayonnaise (hold the mayo), all served on a hoagie roll.
