    Thai Mango Chicken Salad
    Audrey E.

My sis and I came here to try their salads since I've heard a lot about how delicious they were. We definitely weren't disappointed! We both ordered the Thai Mango Salad with chicken and it was amazing! I like the fresh herbs like mint and Thai basil that is in the salad. It added a really fresh element to the salad. I ordered mine without the ramen noodles since I didn't want the extra carbs. Service was great, the staff members were all really nice and helpful! You place your order and then they bring your food out to your table. Ambiance is nice, clean location, lots of seating inside and outside in their heated patio area.

One of my favorite places to frequent. I am a creature of habit and always get the green goddess salad, but I think I recently found a new favorite. Too bad it is on their temporary menu lol Been getting the farmhouse ranch salad with chicken and jalapeño added. Such a delicious salad and very filling. All staff is very welcoming and friendly every single visit, love this place

Look at this beautiful club sandwich stuffed with quality ingredients! YUM!

This is one of the newest locations for Mendocino Farms, and I'm so happy it was open during my recent trip to Long Beach! I love Mendocino Farms and I try to eat it every time I'm in Southern California. I love the healthy and tasty sandwiches and especially that curried couscous side. I could literally eat 10 pounds of that stuff if given the chance, LOL! This new location is at the hip Long Beach Exchange, a shopping and dining complex next door to the Long Beach airport. The parking is limited but free, so snag a spot quickly. The two best spots are reserved for pick-up orders, so don't be a jerk and take those up. I'd say this location has a grab and go type of vibe. They do a large carryout business (which is understandable given the sheer number of office buildings and hotels nearby), and they have a cubby system where your order is placed in a cubby next to your last initial. There aren't a lot of tables inside or on the small outdoor patio, so be prepared to take your meal to go during the most popular times of the day (which appear to be 12 - 2 pm on weekdays and 11-2 on weekends)! The food is on the pricey side, but it's due to the quality and the California location! The ingredients here are such high quality. I ordered the classic Clubhouse sandwich with a side of curried cous cous. It was seriously tasty, fresh, and made with super fresh ingredients like avocado and artisan greens. The sandwiches and salads feel like a little upgrade from your usual lunch run, making it the perfect foodie pit stop while shopping. One thing that annoyed me is that while I was inside trying to enjoy my lunch, a random teenager approached me trying to sell candy as a fundraiser. She wouldn't take "no" for an answer, and she went to several tables before she left the restaurant. I guess the manager and employees were super busy, but they need to do a better job to keep that from happening. That's a guaranteed way to annoy and anger your customers. I don't have much else to say about Mendocino Farms except that this is another location that provides fast service and a stellar sandwich. Try it if you haven't!

1/2 Not fried chicken sandwich and side of basil pesto shells

Me and the hubby came here on a Friday early afternoon for lunch. I ordered the 1/2 "Not So Fried" Chicken on a Ciabatta Toasted bread with a small basil pesto shells side and Tangy Mustard BBQ Sauce and Mustard Remoulade sauces to try. The hubby ordered the Smoky BBQ Brioche Sandwich on a toasted Cornmeal Brioche with Dill Pickle Chips. I enjoyed my Not so fried chicken sandwich . The basil pesto shells were good but needed a little salt. I liked the dill pickle chips also!!

I always have a good experience when I come to this Mendocino Farms. The staff are always warm and friendly. It's located in the LBX Long Beach Exchange Retail Shopping Plaza. Parking can be tricky, but there's always a spot; you might just have to walk a little further! As soon as you enter the restaurant, there is a line to order. If you're ordering to-go, they'll send you a text when your order is ready. If you're eating in, you can the QR code on your table to let them know where you're sitting, and they'll bring your food to you when it's ready. One of my favorite sandwiches is their Prosciutto and Chicken Sandwich. It has a great variety of textures and flavors. Their Chicken Parm Dip is another of my go-to's. Recently I've been enjoying their limited time Spicy Calabrian Turkey Focaccia. I hope this one finds a home on their regular menu! For their salads, I love their Avocado and Quinoa Superfood Ensalada! The Seasonal GOAT with Pink Lady Apples is pretty good too! Mendocino Farms does a great job of having Chef's Special items that I look forward to trying!

Shout out to Gabe & Sonia, great attitude and respectful! Gabe is very hospitable, made sure i had what i needed whenever i asked- give that person a raise! Moving on to the food, this salad is the reason i haven't gone vegan (it's that amazing goat cheese).. it's harvesting so much flavor. It's spicy but sweet, savory and delectable. I'll put that salad order, be sure to get some feta and bread on the side & thank me later ;) The drinks there are chef's kiss (if you like a balance of sweet, go ahead with some black tea mixed in with your favorite choice there), I personally like pomegranate mint with black tea. The set up is great inside an outside, definitely a perfect place for a solo date, friend date, or romantic time :)

Had dinner with my family here. A lot of healthy and delicious options. Staff were kind and patient. Ingredients tasted fresh. Proces a bit up there for the serving size but ingredients were high quality.

the farm club: roasted turkey, avocado, applewood smoked bacon, tomatoes, red onions, greens, herb aioli on whole wheat = $13.95

PSA: I don't know who needs to know this, but Mama Chen's Chinese Chicken salad has been reincarnated as Chen's Crispy Rice salad! The Chen's Crispy Rice salad ($12.95) is virtually the same as the original minus the little mandarins. The base of the salad remains the same: romaine, kale, and spinach. It comes topped with chicken or tofu, rainbow carrots, watermelon radish, cashews, crispy rice, wontons, scallions, cilantro, red and green cabbage. I always ask for an extra miso dressing just in case I get greedy. The salad tastes really refreshing if you're looking for something on the lighter side. It's made a little tangy with the miso dressing. Mendo is always a solid, healthy choice for a meal. Prices have also remained very reasonable.

Fast casual dining. Inside and out was clean. Gabe came from behind the counter to assist us with ordering, took our order, delivered our order and checked on us while we ate. Many options to choose from. My sister enjoyed the Not So Fried Chicken sandwich. The Farm Club and Tomato Bisque were also yummy. I can't recall the salad that was ordered but there was plenty of it! Too much for one person at one sitting. We also had a Pomegranate Mint Lemonade...I definitely want more.

Kids grilled cheese and green apples

Years ago, I had a parent bring a sandwich variety box from here, and it left a memory with me. It was so fresh and tasty. Unfortunately, it wasn't in my area so I didn't have it again until I was around L.A. near the farmers market and I just had to have it again. Years down the line again, they finally opened up one in my area and I couldn't be more thrilled about it. My family and I frequent LBX so better believe this option is in full rotation of my faves. My daughter and I popped in and grabbed some lunch and we both fully enjoyed our meal. She ordered the grilled cheese sandwich from the kids menu (great deal by the way, sandwich, apples and a drink) and she said that this is now another one of her fave spots. I got the farm sandwich (turkey, lettuce, avocado, bacon and tomato) and it was filling, fresh and delicious. The cashier recommended the potato salad as my side and I loved it. She gave me a sample too before ordering. Spacious restaurant, simple and enjoyable decor. Food came to our table in a timely manor and they have a variety of different unique fountain drinks. Of course, I'll be back!

We are always thrilled to find another Mendocino Farms. This location is so nice and new. The restaurant is a smaller one, but the employees were super kind. Nice new build in Long Beach. My go to is the turkey avo salsa verde. The seasonal sandwich: spicy Calabrian turkey focaccia was phenomenal. Maybe one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. The bread...unreal! All that to say, for a chain sandwich shop, Mendocino Farms always delivers. We even split a cup of their chicken lemon soup today and it was so good. The salads are incredible as well. This meal was an oasis in a long day of packing and travel.

    Coming soon to Long Beach!

"So Derek, any good deals lately?" "Did you get your free entree from Mendocino Farms?" And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how I disappointed my co-workers at work lol. I didn't realize Wahoo's had closed at Long Beach Exchange (LBX) until I heard that Mendocino Farms was going to open a location at that exact spot. I tried Mendocino Farms elsewhere a few years ago and enjoyed the sandwich that I got alongside their upbeat customer service. In fact, I even compared them to Urbane Cafe, which oddly enough, opened their first location in Long Beach earlier this year, also at LBX! While Mendocino Farms has been in Long Beach for a while, it was only in the form of a ghost kitchen at Daisy Diner. Pulling a page out of Starbird Chicken's book, they have now exchanged their ghost kitchen for a brick-and-mortar location. In the months leading up to their opening, they posted a sign by their front door letting customers know that they can get a free entree by joining My Mendo and selecting the LBX location as their preferred location. The sign is a bit misleading, however, because there is a string attached to the free entree; you have to make a purchase first, but it can be any. I came on a Monday just after noon, and it was the start of the lunch rush. A few customers were in line, but I noticed inside a bucket were large menus, which I wasn't sure I was allowed to take one of. Amna greeted me with a super welcoming and helpful demeanor, even showing me the menu brochures behind the larger menus. Why they'd put the smaller menus behind the larger ones, I have no clue; how would anyone else know if they weren't looking from behind? Neither of the menus showed the prices, and when I asked Amna, she pointed me to a plasma screen on the wall that showed the prices. I had briefly seen the menu beforehand, so I kind of knew what I wanted: Peruvian Steak Sandwich. The Chimichurri Steak & Bacon sounded great too, but the Peruvian Steak Sandwich allowed for an upgrade at an upcharge whereas the Chimichurri Steak & Bacon didn't. I wanted to see if the free entree would cover the upcharge, hence why I chose the Peruvian Steak Sandwich. For my any purchase, I wanted to try a small deli side, but the menu didn't really describe what the sides were. I was interested in the Spicy Curried Couscous and the Basil Pesto Shells, so I asked Nate about them. He went a step above and showed me the containers so that not only would I know what they look like, but I'd also know how big the sizes were. The Spicy Curried Couscous sounded and looked like the better choice, so I went with that for my any purchase. After he scanned my QR code for the free entree, I saw that I'd still get charged for adding the avocado. I suppose that could count as a valid purchase here, but I wanted to try the couscous, so I asked to hold the avocado instead. Now, here's where things got interesting. Nate asked me for my phone number so they could text me when my order was ready, and he also directed me to scan a QR code on a table so they could bring my order out to me. I initially said "to go" since I wasn't sure I could eat comfortably with many customers milling about, but because his latter instruction implied a "for here" order, I simply decided I'd eat at an open table once I found one. The process confused me to the point where I got a text 8 minutes later telling me that my order was ready even though I had used the QR Code to tell the team which table I was sitting at. One employee called my name, but I saw another employee, Marcus, looking in my direction. I signaled to Marcus that was my order, and he handed me my takeout bag. In spite of the seemingly conflicting pickup instructions, I enjoyed everything about the couscous and the sandwich! The couscous had the spicy curry flavor I was expecting, and the sandwich tasted almost like a gourmet burger! I was impressed with how fresh everything tasted (farm to fork?!). And service was practically flawless too with Eli, Marcus, and Cody overseeing the dining area to tend to all the customers dining inside, continuing the warm welcome that Amna created at the front. Three other downsides to my order: One, the serving sizes were kind of small, but what they lack in size, they more than make up for in quality and flavor. Two, they only included a couple of napkins in my greasy takeout bag, but when I asked Eli for more, he fetched me way more than a couple. And three, they didn't include a utensil in my takeout bag, so I had to ask Marcus for one. They really expected me to eat couscous with my hands or like a dog? lol All that being said, I did consider giving them 4 stars, but with how great everything else was, I'm willing to bestow the coveted 5th star. I'm actually glad the pickup process confused me that I changed my mind and decided to eat there so I could witness the great customer service. I do hope they include more napkins and a utensil for a side and *especially* a soup, though.

Apple chicken salad - solid healthier choice

Stopped into Mendocino Farms for a quick reset after a stretch of eating like a teenager left unattended at a 7-11. I grabbed the Apple Goat Cheese Salad and my wife went with the Lemon Chicken Soup. Everything was fresh, clean, and well put together. No major "wow" factor for a full-spice, adventurous eater like me, but it definitely hit the spot and was a nice break from the junk I've been inhaling lately. Solid choice when you want something fresh and reliable.

I think it is way too doughy compared to typical focaccia. I like my focaccia airy, with some bounce. This one was like a dense bread. Definitely not my forte for having focaccia. You're able to see in my attached photo just how thick and dense it looks. The salmon bowl itself was pretty refreshing. I think the dresssingggg was perfectly tailored to the bowl. Not too acidic, not too sweet, not too salty. It dressed the bowl up real nice. The salmon was tender, nicely cooked, not chewy-- I hate when I get cheewwwyyy salmon I want fish not gum. The rice and sweet potatoes were perfect! Absolutely a nice bed made for the salmon to lay on. I tried the Shirley temple it's way too sweet, more grenadine than anythang. I just optd for half unsweetened tea & half of their lemonade. It was average. The cranberry cookie was pretty good! Not something I usually lean towards but I was wowd to taste how good it was. Cranberry gave it that nice kick of tang on your tongue. Service was friendly, I ordered through the kiosk screen. It's clean inside and in the restroom as well. Plenty of parking in the plaza.

Overall, it was solid--sauce had good flavor, cheese was decent, and the dough was nice. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely a respectable slice. My only issue was the balance--there was a bit too much cheese for the crust, so even folding it New York-style, it didn't hold up well and kind of fell apart. A little more crisp on the bottom would've made a big difference. I also tried their Sicilian grandma-style focaccia pizza, and honestly, that was a huge letdown. It had this dusty, raw flour taste right away, was dry and spongy, and way overpowered with Parmesan. It just didn't come together at all--pretty disappointing, especially for the price. I've had frozen pizza that tasted better. Ended up just picking at the cheese to salvage something. On the plus side, the service was friendly and the space itself is chill--nice casual vibe with a few tables inside and outside to hang out. All in all, the regular slice was decent, but the focaccia pizza really missed the mark for me. Probably not a spot I'd go back to.

Recently stopped by Beach City Deli & BBQ after seeing recommendations online and decided to order…read morethe Big Kahuna. Honestly, one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. The pineapple added to what's basically a Cuban style sandwich sounds different at first, but it works perfectly. The balance of sweet, savory, crispy, and smoky was spot on. Everything tasted super fresh and the bread held everything together perfectly without getting soggy. My original plan was to eat half and save the rest for later... yeah, that didn't happen. Ended up finishing the whole thing because it was that good. Service was friendly, food came out quick, and the whole spot had a really chill local vibe. Definitely a hidden gem if you're in the area. Highly recommend this place and I'll for sure be back to try more off the menu.

But, I understand. That particular sandwich is loaded with 6 kinds of meat. The contingency sandwich became the Big Bucky, w/ the choice of 3 meats. Soppressata, mortadella, bacon, extra onions, pickles & tomatoes. A satisfying, filling sub sandwich that made for a pleasurable lunch. A nominal wait, the meat were freshly sliced, and assembling the sandwich with plump & crisp vegetables, it was worth every minute of delay. The cashier was friendly & a pleasure to deal with, too.
