I worried that these were going to be the size of other fast food spots and I was going to be $15 in and still hungry. That was all misplaced. These tenders are big. Those sliders? Those are full-size hamburger buns and the tenders don't look out of place. The flavor is great! I went with "HOT" and I'm glad I didn't go higher because my body temp definitely rose while eating. The chicken is fried to order and covered in the spice blend, so you'll need a couple of extra napkins. The fries are also spiced, but not nearly as heavily. Stopped in on a Thursday mid-afternoon to avoid the crowds, and it was good timing. There was no wait to place my order and I got my food within 20 minutes. The fries = excellent. Hot, crisp, well seasoned. They use crinkle cut. The tenders = huge, and I loved the hot rub! Perfect spice level and amount. I tried the combo with one tender and one slider. The slider was fantastic. Super fresh, pillowy bun, the kale slaw gave it a solid flavor, and I loved the thick cut pickles. Sadaya was our friendly order taker. Chris was the friendly manager. The orders moved along fast enough. I asked for heat just below needing a waiver signed. I tried the heat requiring waiver somewhere else and won't do it again. Today I ordered Extra Hot and wife ordered Mild. Extra Hot wasn't even hot which is strange because there was only 1 hotter, called Reaper, requiring a waiver to be signed. We both ordered the #1 which includes fries for $11.99. There are other sides like Mac & Cheese or Kale Salad. We got two small pieces of plain white bread, a few pickle slices and some sauce with our meals. I ate all my food. Wife didn't eat her bread and half of her fries. My fries were extra crispy as requested. The food was okay. The seating was hard. The tables were bare, without even napkins. THAT should change. If you eat there, be sure to grab PLENTY of thin napkins at the front where you get your meal. The ambiance must be for the younger generation. Wife and I didn't find it appealing. I don't see us visiting another Dave's Hot Chicken again. There are several other chains like Joella's, Raising Cane's and Zaxby's, to mention a few that we visited with more comfort and appealing ambiance. Food is somewhat comparable with all of those. It's pretty good. The service for us was quick. You order at the counter & they call your number when it's up. They occasionally come to make sure you're okay but it's not something to count on. The menu is limited but if you're here for hot chicken then that's exactly what you'll get. I wish they had more options for dipping sauce. They have a special sauce but it reminds me of like a yum-yum sauce but for chicken lol Right now with them being newly opened they have a free milkshake if you leave a review on google. I was stoked to see that there was finally one a short drive away as my husband and I have been itching to try it. We stopped in on a random Sunday for lunch and the place was hoppin'! It's a counter service restaurant and the workers were super helpful and nice. I had the two slider meal, one medium and one hot, with fries. My husband had the same but with one hot and one extra hot. The food was ready quickly and was super fresh. The sliders are more like full size sandwiches so I had plenty to take home. They were really good but next time I will go with hot and extra hot. If you're spice sensitive, though, stick to the lower levels. The chicken pieces are huge, maybe a half a breast. The batter is fairly thick. The fry is good. The chicken is not burnt or too tough. Meh on the French fries. Okay for a crinkle cut fry. The dipping sauce is on par with Raising Canes, good+ Better with honey added. IMO, not a kid friendly meal, teens and up. Have plenty of napkins. Came to the restaurant on Saturday and it's the grand opening weekend! It was a line out the door and hardly any places to sit. Dave's sandwich is full of flavor and great. The fries with the daves sauce is amazing, and my food was warm.

The menu is kind of underwhelming. Only a handful of combos and all revolve around tenders or sliders (a slider seems to just be a tender between buns). I'm not one to expect a wide array of items at a chicken joint, I.E, you don't go to a pizza joint and complain that it only serves pizza, but a slightly bigger menu with some other sides would be nice. I think the only sides available were combinations of fries. The chicken itself was good, I got the extra hot level which wasn't very hot to me but it may just be a personal tolerance on my part. My biggest issue was, much like Raising Canes, they only offer their own house sauce and ketchup packets as condiments. Actually I think they also offer hot sauce packets as well. No bbq, hot honey, sriracha, ranch, etc. Just whatever Dave's sauce is (house sauce) and ketchup which isn't really a condiment I'd recommend for Nashville style hot chicken. I got the two tender meal as that was the combo with the most tenders. I was skeptical that only two tenders would be enough but they're quite large tenders, almost fillet size. Breading was great. It came with two pieces of white bread, not really sure why. A lot of hot chicken joints use an oily seasoning that drips onto the bread and makes it a nice addition as well, but with this type of seasoning the white bread stayed just normal, boring white bread. Service was good, they were very fast for how packed and busy they were given that it was opening weekend. Overall the food and service were good, they just really need to expand the menu a bit, even if it's just sides and sauces that would go a long way. Or maybe even shakes to go with some hot chicken. With places like this where you're only selling one type of food the variety of sauces, sides, and drinks makes it feel like there's more variety offered. read more
