In the past I've chipped my tooth on tiny bones in the pulled pork. Had pizza so watery I could pour the water off, and had rotten salad ingredients. I decided to give Kathy's a try and was very glad I did. The place is small, with a small dining room with it's own entrance next to the storefront that sells the sweets (ice cream and milkshakes). The food was very good - I had a chili that was not bland nor too spicy, and had my first apple dumpling in over 30 years - it was outstanding - the pastry crust was just sweet enough. Things to note: they only take cash, and on the weekends, there's an hour limit (meaning you can't dawdle) so they don't have lines piling up outside.
